I just realize Sam is the easy character to turn into a plush
I've seen him as so many toys it's weird. Once toy you can get of him is a really high quality doll. It's not huge, only about 8 or 10 inches, but it is amazing.
If there is a Sam plush I want it and now
Your right! I need to get fabric and I need to get to sewing!!
Fnaf be like
Omg u just gave me an idea, thx :D
You forgot the most important rule:
Don't murder a bunch of kids with a bus.
Well sam didn't punish him for that. He punished him for not giving out candy.
The actual rule was "Please don't harm kids on a Halloween night, they deserve to have fun"
Short bus is ok.

My favorite one is the warewolf story. Not only was it a surprising twist, but I like how they portrayed the warewolves with actual feral-wolf heads instead of a cheesy human head with severely overgrown hair.
I prefer the bus story
@@ivannav9175 they used your momma? hmmmm
A lot of movies have werewolves with feral wolf heads , maybe the wolfman did that but that’s it
Yeah, the bus story is the best one i think. Followed by the Werewolves. Then again those are really the only 2 complete stories in the movie. The others are more extended singular scenes really.
@@ivannav9175 you do realize why they used women as werewolves instead of men right? The theme of losing innocence and the subversion of women playing the predators, rather than prey? If you want sexed up dudes turning into dogs, you should go watch Twilight.
Wilkins put not just poison, but razor blades into the candy. The candy bar that Sam uses as a shiv at 15:28 is the same bar he got from Wilkins earlier.

One thing I don't think you mentioned: Sam is short for Samhain, the Celtic festival time where Trick or Treating got its origin. He's not just a "weird pumpkin demon", he's literally Halloween given a physical form.
Yes, exactly. In fact, Sam is not a demon at all. Sam is actually the spirit of autumn, the ghost of Halloween. ✌️

Me slowly realizing that Wilkins has a son at home and he just got murdered by a werewolf.
But the son has already been groomed to accept killing people as a normal thing on Halloween. He's already doomed.
The fact the father is a maniac who used kids heads as his sons pumpkins
I'd like to see a continuation of his son Billy in the second movie.
The son sitting on the steps dressed like his father shows that he's following his father's footsteps. And since it's such a small town, he could very well grow up to be the school principal like his dad.

Trick R Treat is like a christmas movie for halloween. It really captures the old nostalgic magical feeling of the holiday. Unlike other horrors this one really feels like a "Halloween movie." Wish there was more like it. The Gate has some similar feel to me but it's still a far cry.
Its not as heavy handed but The Lady in White gave me those feels as well... i really need to get my hands on a copy of it though, ive only ever watched it once.
Oh and oddly, Murder Party gave me some nostaglic halloween vibes, though its a dark comedy rather than a horror or halloween movie thought it does happen on halloween.
I like FAR CRY 5
"The Witch" is another movie with that similar classic Halloween charm.
The sound effects of things like the witch laughing, and the wind howling. It gets me right into the Halloween spirit.
I think you misunderstand. The Witch is not AT ALL the kind of movie I'm talking about lol. The witch is a straight horror film. I'm talking about movies that actually have that kind of "Magical feeling" you used to get when halloween was coming around as a kid. The kind of movie you pop in and just have fun.. The witch is an excellent movie but it is not a fun one haha. Very oppressive and intimidating, original, well paced and truly horrific at times, but those are the things that make up a good horror to me, but not necessarily a good halloween movie.
"The Witch" does deliver that magical feeling to me.
Like I said, it's about the spooky sounds the movie has.
As a kid my Parents would play spooky Halloween sounds on Halloween Night.
When I watch "The Witch" I'm instantly brought back to Halloween in the 90's.
Rule number 5: Never kill a dog, or else "Baba Yaga" or John Wick will come after you

Yes, the kid in the Dracula mask killed the busload of children; but the driver was the one responsible for putting them in harms way. The Dracula kid didn't intend to kill anyone; he only wanted to go home and killing them all was an accident. The driver, on the other hand, CLEARLY intended to kill them all and would have if the Dracula kid had stayed in his seat.
Oh no
Yep.. agree
You forgot to mention the part where the parents paid the driver to kill their kids.
It's not that I forgot it, it just isn't the story they told. The revenge in the story is against the driver, not the parents. It makes for a better movie if the revenge is focused on one person instead of 16 parents. Heck, as far as we know, maybe they also visited their parents that night.
The Dracula Kid is still at the fault. Not saying all blame on him, but he shares the blame as well.
Is it morally incorrect if the person you like doesn’t want to date you so you clone them and date the clone?

Favorite part of this is how Sam and the old man beat the shit out of each other and then at the end he's like "A worthy adversary" and takes his candy and leaves. Such a cute Halloween mascot
The other body in the grave that Wilkins dug is not his wife. You can see a clown hand at one point which leads me to believe it is the kid from a later scene who is dressed as a clown, the one of a trio who are scared off by Kreeg's dog.

Why wouldn't the children's parents deserve that hate? Wtf? Punish the parents. Also, no.
@@lL338 They would if they don't observe the holiday.
My favorite part of the movie is the fact that while Sam is specifically after people who don't follow the rules, the other creatures in the town show that even though the rules don't discriminate between good and evil, evil people still get their dues in time.
Although, I feel like Wilkins grew up to be a serial killer specifically because of Sam If he understood the importance of the rules, then that means he had to have met Sam before. Probably saw his father get murdered for breaking the rules and started enacting his twisted halloween rules to either get back at Sam or to emulate him. Probably also taught his son the importance of the rules as well, even if he didn't teach him the reason. The wife was probably killed because she was trying to break a rule, found one of Wilkins victims, or maybe she wanted to take her child trick or treating and, knowing how dangerous it was, he killed her to protect the boy.
(Or maybe, and this one is crazy complicated, Wilkins learned about Sam from his father but didn't believe, he wasn't a serial killer yet. Then, something leading up to Halloween caused his wife to get murdered by Sam or maybe it happened the previous Halloween. Wilkins knowing that Sam is a child if not a demon, chooses to murder as many kids as he can this year, following the rules but to spite Sam rather then appease him. This would explain how children eating his poison candy haven't yet been linked to him. Cause if he's murdering children every Halloween, someone would notice and kids wouldn't be trick or treating so unsupervised even back then I assume there would be some kind of caution. So this has gotta be his first time or at least the first time using poison to kill kids on mass.)
THAT INTRO WAS SO CUTE! I watched this movie with my mom last night. It's so good. Over the Garden Wall always gets me in the fall/halloween spirit (it's a mini series not a movie but I'm counting it because I own it on DVD).

Brian Bairos after Dougherty is done with Godzilla king of Monsters, he’s on record for saying he will in fact be making a trick r treat 2. If you are interested there is a graphic novel of Trick R Treat that takes place after these events in the movie. Consider it Trick r Treat 1.5 lol it’s worth picking up and reading if you miss Sam🎃🔪
They kinda made a sequel. It's their Christmas film "Krampus"
Isn't scaring kids with a dog in a mask "tricking" them? Why is it now he HAS to give out treats? But the girl can have her friends murdered as a trick?
The girl didn't have the other kids murdered as a trick, they tricked her and scared her, so they got punished. The phrase is Trick or Treat but everyone knows you're supposed to do treat.
you can still trick but you have to give a treat.
Scott O'Toole, ah ok that makes more sense then. So it is consistent then.
Ryan Bolson The “Trick” in Trick r Treat is a “threat.” It’s basically saying “give us candy or we’ll come back and TP and egg your house” as the “trick.” So Trick r Treat is basically extortion. Lol Give us candy or else...!

I dearly love this film. The kid that plays Sam is precious ❤️. I wish they made a part 2. I heard Sam was the directors kid. One mistake , the Sam that tackles krieg is as tall as he is , it is clearly a grown man.
I wouldn't be saying that too loudly... Sam might hear you.
Technically the bus driver didn't kill those kids, one of the kids did
But he set out to kill them in the first place, he was paid by the parents to do so.
Phil Ingrouille yeah, but Dracula still drove the bus forward, killing all the other kids.
@@twigperlman They were "special" kids, he probably didn't even realize what he was doing. And even then he only sped up what the driver was going to do anyways, caused the driver to go over with them rather than be able to get out first. And the kid could never have done that in the first place if he hadn't brought them there, which again the entire purpose of which was to kill them all anyhow. So ya, still 100% his fault, lol.

and ontop of what everyone else said, he also chained the kids so they couldnt escape when the bus went under
Hey is it possible you could do an ending explained for the 1997 film "Cube" for us? A great film I saw on Netflix the other day but the ending left me a pit puzzled.
Cube and Cube Zero of course, since these two are connected. Only the Hypercube was silly. Great but overlooked movies though.
Father Leo oh my lands I loved that film, after you watch the second and third one the first one is seen in a different light.
Do it with all the cube movies please
Yes please, I've been asking forever. They're some of my fav little movies!
I’ve seen all three movies a few times and I don’t understand what’s so confusing. Not trying to sound condescending, I’m really curious as to what y’all found confusing
One of the clues for the connection of the bus driver being the old man is that when the bus driver emerges from the water after the bus falls in the quarry, he starts breathing weird like it’s a struggle, and when the old man was presented he also had that weird breathing thing going on. So just from that i kind of suspected they were the same person.
I never saw this movie so for a sec I really thought the intro was part of the movie untill he opened the door😂
another thing I really liked about the movie is that when the bus driver fell down the stairs they actually show him hurt by the glass unlike in most movies where people somehow just roll around in glass, but turn out unscathed.

One thing I never understood about the scene at Mr. Wilkins house: when did he decapitate the kid? It shows him in the ground with the body, and the kid is still alive, grabbing for him and making noises. But it seems that when he finishes and goes in the house with his son to the basement, that the kid's head is already there. Did I miss something?
Anyone?

Wait! Hol up! You never enter a persons house on Halloween. That madman broke his own rules!
He's above his own laws
My favorite story is the werewolves one, as it was amazing to see the tables flipped like that, especially in a horror movie.
However, I disagree with the ending. Yes, the bus driver was going to kill them, but he never got around to pulling the trigger, so to speak. If the ghouls should be mad at someone, they should be mad at the vampire, who caused the bus to roll forward and seal their fates.
I completely agree with the bus driver being punished by Sam, as he rightfully deserved a good smackdown, but I don't think it fit to have the kids kill him when he wasn't the one who caused the bus to crash. :/
Maybe the kids should have gotten revenge on their parents, who ordered the hit? Unless they died long ago. Idk. Isn't killing beyond the grave annoying? Just RIP.
I don't think it's a kharma thing, keep in mind the ghouls did just get done murdering a bunch of other kids on the way there. They're probably just dicks, like they were when they were alive.
@@AzureWrathHal lol
They all should have died exept for the kids coz they did nothing wrong ( we think )
How is the werewolf story flipping the tables? Literally every instance of "monster and woman" I've seen in fiction has had the woman actually being the monster leading the man to a horrible agonizing death.
When the kids go to the teacher's house as they're asking for pumpkins, you know the one who offers them inside for a drink. You said"She too is a werewolf like the other girls as seen later" I have watched this movie I know 50 times, no exaggeration. I've never noticed the teacher being a werewolf. One thing that people misinterpret about the warewolves and why Sam allows it to happen - sacrifices. As in old gaelic traditions, Halloween was originally concieved as "Samhain" that it meant the "end of the harvest year" and the "beginning of the darker half" and it would give the gaelic/celtics a chance to "offer a sacrifice" to the gods of the darker half so that when the new harvest year began, they would get good crops and be able to flourish off of it.
Think of it as sorta Halloween 3 meets Wicker Man in a way because Wicker Man you had a virgin sacrifice and in Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, the main big bad was trying to bring back the old roots of Halloween/Samhain.
XTheVideoGamerGirlX
A few corrections my Dear.......
The “Sacrifices” were ALWAYS the Animals that were not intended to be Bred, as these were brought into the House to live with the Families during the Freezing Winter. They were Never Human.

How have I NEVER seen ANYTHING about this movie until THIS year? I seriously thought it must've been a new one.
I know why the sequel has been repeatedly delayed, and I can't blame the director for working on a few major studio movies instead, but still... It's not often a straight to DVD movie with little promotion can create a horror icon to rival some of the big ones. Having Sam languish is just sad. At the same time, it is good they aren't throwing someone else in to direct.

I was always confused by the last story with Sam and the Bus Driver. When I first saw this movie ages and ages ago, it didn't click. Thanks for finally clearing the puzzle that evaded me for 5 years!
This sounds like that Gravity Falls Episode about SummerWeen
I'm pretty sure it was inspired by it, such as the summerween trickster, who has a mask on his head, and a vague reference to the dead kids as the "loser" candy gets dumped into the... dump.
Rare for kids to die in a Horror Film?? Have you not seen "Amityville II: The Possession" or "Halloween III: Season of the Witch?"
...oh okay you're right. Those are the only ones I can think of. Oh...and Hocus Pocus...does Emily's death count...?
I'd say she counts
I didnt know this till recently but hocus pocus had a part filmed in my school
Fun fact: there are certain laws about showing a child dying on TV. Even in animation. It’s true
Oh, and Children Of The Corn!
And the Godsend
i thought it was so cool that the town has werewolves and real monsters in it! along side the other human stories it really adds to the intrigue of the film
I LOVE this movie and have watched it at least 5 times.... I also LOVE your reviews, they always show me things I missed. NEVER noticed the teacher was a werewolf or the bus driver goes by Sam. I think Rhonda was spared because of the lit jack-o-lantern. As you said, by following tradition....
"Susie i told you we shouldn't knock on houses without lights on"
"It's worth a shot, Ben"
The door opened, and a man dressed in black appeared.
"Trick or treat!"
"Ah yes, how about a candlestick for the pirate and a brooch for the mermaid."
"Thanks, we thought nobody was home!"
"Nobody is"
And with that he ran off with his bag full of treats
Welp! What a nice ghost!
Homophobic Asswipe actually the man, in the story, was a bugler, who had just robbed, the place, cuz he was dressed, in entirely black, even wearing a mask, just FYI.
I am home.
Lmao
Sam, best Halloween Personification~
do you think i can summon sam as a persona?
Love watching this ending explained!!! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched it
That background ambiance while he’s explaining the movie is relaxing.
Fires 3 shots from a double-barrel shotgun, *then* has to reload.
Okay.
There are triple barrel guns too ... let's pretend this was the case.
I was thinking the same thing, so I rewatched that part. You can see that the first shot actually lights up BOTH barrels - maybe he pulled both triggers, reloaded offscreen, then shot two more times.
I'm so glad you did this movie, it's a great underrated Halloween movie
I've seen plenty of movies, read a good number of books in which the story is several and jumps back and forth in time and scenes, but this movie... hands down one of the very best! You know it is jumping around, but the stories of all the characters is highly distracting, making the conclusions a sucker punch to the gut. Play this movie and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown every Halloween.
Wanna congratulate you on 1 mil. I've been here since 1.5k and I have to say you totally deserve it. Love your videos man good luck in the future.
Edit: wow thanks for all the likes guys, didn't expect a lot of people to see this.

I'm fine with kids dieing in movies but if a dog even gets hurt i Immediately stop watching
My class once watched a movie about WW2, no problem until a dog got blown up.
Wow 🤦🏾♂️
Respect the floof✊ lol same here
Ur a trash person
"dieing"
Mike is nailing it with his movies and Godzilla looks EPIC!!!
When kids come to your door on halloween and say "Trick or Treat", are they saying that they will pull a trick on you if you do not provide a treat, or are they asking for either a trick or treat from you?
"Trick or treat was the slogan employed by Halloween pranksters who got treats from residents. In return the youngsters offered protection against window egging and other annoyance." there you go
Jesus Christ, Halloween has its own mafia
Nook Riy so it's a kids version of offering protection
