I am from Crewe where the Bentley factory is. I have seen the Speed 8 in the showroom many times. The only thing that disappointed me, is that originally the car was an Audi prototype, I believe. The car was only developed by Bentley.
Same and I'm from Oz. Speed 8 is magic. The balance between front and rear and how steady it is, the slippery aero package and the very beautiful dark racing green, just such a Regal racing car. I love the enormous front splitter coupled with the rear wing and they were just so stable.

Cold tires on a racing machine 18 secs behind onna short lap manages to close the gap down to a couple of seconds in lap 1. The continental only chance was lap 1 cuz every lap after the speed 8 will lap it over and over
But if you look beneath the badge, that was a comparison between a Panamera Coupé (at least the chassis and electronics) and a lemans Audi. Both of course better than if it would solely be Bentleys work
With the LMH rules, with a bit of a detune and slightly different aero, there's no reason why cars like the Bentley couldn't be competitive. Would be incredible to see a privateer run an old LMP1 car like this.
can't help but think of Jeremy Clarkson being in continental and Richard Hammond in the speed 8 ❤️ uh the good old days i would give it all just to see them back together in top gear again

Well they agreed upon to do the race real Le Mans way, wich of course meaning the driver needs to run to their vehicle first (assuming you didn't know about Le Mans rules here)
Top Gear is mainly for entertainment purposes, hence the fun start to the race. This wasn't a scientific test to see which was actually faster, it was all for entertainment and a good time.
And I came here to see a fantastic "Audi R8 LMP1 in disguise"... The Speed 8 has Audi technology through and through and the VW marketing made it possible that Bentley came to a Le Mans victory... Sorry for Bentley, but this is an Audi Le Mans winning car, driven with Audi Werks drivers Christensen/Capello for this race. And with the help from Audis racing team Joest Racing of course.
Meh I feel like top gear lost its spark when the original 3 left. It just went downhill after Clarkson, Hammond and may left. That top gear was my preference anyway
