    It's amazing how you can tell where did the rocks come from. I never thought about that before, I just saw random rocks everywhere. :D

      For sure there’s many natural processes that can move rocks around from their original origins

    nice finds,
    I think this block with the pebbles could come from the Miocene, so a molasse stone.i come from switzerland and you can find deposits like this everywhere in our midland,mostly they contain shark teeth and bone fragments.

      @@Treasurehunter11001 Nothing too exciting from here but were in Dorset before Christmas so quite a few Ammonites. Had a day at Hunstanton last week but nothing from there. Doing South Wales in a couple of weeks. The fossiling is supposed to be quite good there so fingers crossed. Must try and arrange a meet up.

      @Treasurehunter11001 I did 2 massive quarries in Hertfordshire and have not seen a piece 😆 Do you have Instagram or other means of sharing pictures? I might have beaten you with porphyry size in Poland, but that's still in a field where I found it. Not really a plane language friendly size 😉

    That’s 100% pudding stone. I live in Hertfordshire, I have some, and there’s a massive one in St Michael’s village in St Albans. I’m sure you can find a photo if you check online 👍🏻

    If you have a muddy rock, try rubbing it on the sand in the water it scrubs it clean easier than washing it by hand. Was it a Hildy? Very Nice Micraster echinoid 😀

    • @Treasurehunter11001
      @Treasurehunter11001  Рік тому

      Thanks for the advice Maggie yes it is a hildi I am trying to prep it right now but there’s literally no distinction between where the rock finishes and the fossil starts just completely sticky
