    I just got the rulebook for Rangers last week after trying Frostgrave. Since I already have lots of minis I've been looking to diversify the terrain for more" outside" areas as I've plenty of houses and walls from Frost already. This is perfect! Thank you, you channel keeps on giving, I truly, truly appreciate your content, I hope to be able to donate a bit more through Paypal in the future!

      You JUST reminded me I do have a bunch of pathfinder flip mats from my D&D days! Perfect for Rangers!

      Thanks. I'm glad you found the video useful. Pathfinder flip-mats are so useful! I hope you have as much fun with Rangers as I do.

    You're one of my favorite YTbers to correspond with so it's really nice and reassuring to hear how you feel on the other side of things.

    I’m currently painting two LOTR trolls that I’ve had sitting around since the original release. I’ve been looking at the MESBG range lately and I think they look lovely. The new starter box is very tempting, I have the first starter and the minis weren’t terribly interesting.

      It's a lovely range of miniatures. I do want to get more involved in it, but I'm just a bit reluctant to take on yet another project right now.

      @@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring for me I’m sorta looking at what game system to jump into, with MESB I don’t think I’d be able to find many other players nor would I be able to get a lot of the more interesting models without breaking the bank.

      @@rey-o It could get quite expensive, especially if you start buying the Forgeworld stuff. I prefer skirmish games like Burrows and Badger and would be more interested playing LotR as narrative scenarios on a small scale. That would help with the expense! Of course the miniatures are also great for D&D and Rangers of Shadow Deep which helps to take the sting out the price tags.

    That permanent marker trick... absolute sorcery! Amazing. Several times you referred to things you’re doing on-screen as “in the background” when they were in fact in the foreground. ;-) The pace of your Cursed City videos has been just right, imho. I’m subbed to some other channels that will make a new video at the flimsiest excuse, which puts me off, so I appreciate you moderating that with your channel. Looking forward to whatever you share with us next, as always. 😁

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  3 роки тому

      Ha. I refer to it as the background to my narration when I'm rambling and talking about something else rather than specifically explaining what is going on in the images. It's because all this stuff is "B-roll" that didn't make it into proper videos, but I didn't really want to lose it. I'm glad to hear that about the Cursed City videos. Thanks for the feedback!

    Might steal that idea for floor areas.
    I've ordered my Pelennor Fields box, just waiting for it to come back in stock, at least I know its on the way.
    Here's an idea for your Warhammer Quest coverage. Seeing as its going to be a few months off yet, why not do a monthly round up of coverage? It means you can still make the videos and it means you won't be repeating yourself so much.

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring

      I haven't heard anywhere that Quest is going to be a few months off. Have I missed a rumour or an announcement? I'm expecting it in matter of weeks.

      @@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring I'm just going off their announcement of certain things being shook up due to the world crisis and the EU exit. They said they want to make sure they have plenty of product and to make sure policies allow for fair trading out side the UK.

    Rangers of shadow deep is an amazing game. My imagination runs wild just by reading the rulebook. Will you be using other terrain pieces from GW LOTR? Like Rohan houses or Osgiliath ruins?

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  3 роки тому +1

      At the moment I don't have any other Lord of the Rings terrain, but I grab from all different sources for Rangers, so even I don't know what I'm going to end up using!

  • @UnderTheSkin13
    @UnderTheSkin13 3 роки тому

    Unfortunately GW is "hobby first, game second". They make more money off hobby supplies and models than rule books and dice and stuff. Besides, a hero's mold will be permanent, while their rules are always subject to change and anything they show in a video can become outdated soon.

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  3 роки тому

      True enough, but the rules for characters in a board game aren't going to change, so they could easily include a few choice details about their abilities as they show off the miniatures. They showed off Be'lakor today on the Warhammer Community page, and shared a bunch of his new rules. I want to see a bit more of that relating to the Cursed City characters.

  • @blackraptor311
    @blackraptor311 3 роки тому

    It looks like they just simply want to promote Cursed City in tiny details without showing how the game works. To be fair, many people who know about Warhammer Quest basically know how it works anyway. But you are right in that it does get tiresome just showing off tiny stuff after already showing off the entire set a few weeks back. "Oh, lets look at a sample of one of the rooms in the set." Yeah, that get pretty annoying. If anything just give out a release date and people will buy and that is that. It looks like people will get what they pay for.

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I think we have a fair idea how it will play, but there are interesting things I wish they would talk about a bit more. If you're going to show a hero, why not show at least one of their special actions? If you're showing an enemy, why not show that enemy's behaviour table so we can get a better idea of what they are going to do in a fight?

    • @blackraptor311

      @@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring They probably want you to see that when the product is out. Don't want to give to much up you see. They could at least with the heroes and villains tell any special ability they have that gives them an advantage in the game. Don't need to give out the rules for them just describe their special attribute. Then again, there may not be much to what we already know or can figure out so they probably want to keep the excitement out for fear people will drop out if given to much info.
