  • My first go at a hobby video! I put together a quick and dirty warband for Rangers of Shadow Deep, using plastic models from the Zombicide Black Plague/Green Horde boxed games. In this video I demonstrate the basic painting technique I used throughout the project, using the cloak of one of the models, before showing the completed warband in full.

My name's Mike, and I like to try my hand at anything to do with the tabletop miniature wargame hobby.
I will be having a go at everything from building and painting miniatures and terrain, to creating army lists and playing games, as well as some stuff completely off the beaten track. I won't be using any fancy kit or big budgets and I don't have a lot of space for my hobby, but there will be lots of hobby adventures to be had, with an 'anything goes' attitude - and you're invited!
My background is in graphic/website design, and I have a lot of experience designing tabletop game rulebooks (cards, tokens, packaging, etc) so attention to detail is a big thing for me, not always compatible with the hobby… we'll see how that goes. I am fascinated by the design process, for rules and models, so we'll be diving into that too - my goal is to create my own tabletop game, with input from the community, so we can learn together how rewarding the hobby can be, and show that anyone can do it.
