Discovering Whirr was one of the best things that ever happened to me

@@blossomeater Imo it Is their best stuff. I became a fan of Sway in 2018, and was bummed out too that the band was "canceled". Found out about Feels Like You a month after it was released, and sadly the Vinyl of it had been sold out by then. With that said, the album has been in Heavy rotation for me over the past year and it Def is my shoegaze album of 2010s.
Seems like a lot of people in the comments only listened to the first half of the album and didn’t listen to the two absolute bangers on the back.
Facts. Nothing is in heavy Nirvana worship mode here and I love it.
For real. Two of the best songs both bands ever made.
Wow whirr was really on top of their game here.
So was Nothing. Then again, I like only a handful of songs from their 2 albums Ive listened to, which means some more exploration is necessary...
@@19RaxR91 nothing line up is a bit different these days although you still get projects from everyone in some form, but holy shit, this split was definitely lightning in a bottle and impossible these days because rip whirr even though their streaming numbers have been going absolutely stupid lately
@@michaelarredondo6401 yeah, I noticed - I saw them live a couple of months ago, and they had both a different drummer and a bassist in our show. Doesnt change the fact the show was awesome, and exactly what I needed at that point. After the performance, I spoke to their singer, and gushed over them, as well as Whirr, and he said that those guys ar his brothers, and yeah, totally makes sense - both are in the business of soul cleansing music.

The songwriting on Lean is something incredible. I 've been listening to this constantly for 3 years and this song never gets me bored.

Guilty Of Everything is just unbelievable. You should check out The Album Hyperview by Title Fight. Sodus is good too. I just started listening to tiny little houses as well

Surprised that Nothing's Chloroform recieved less attention than other songs (according to UA-cam's graphs over timestamps). Best song of the album, imo. Endured a lot of teenage sad shit with this song when I was 14yo and gonna repeat it now, 4 years after.

Okay, the flyleaf song is "tiny heart" and in retrospect doesn't really sound like chloroform. But excellent songs from both bands...all bands here.
The opening Nothing song reminds me of a Flyleaf song, but it's right on my preconscience and can't recall. Anybody?

narrow head, i’d say sounds like another version, more hard rock version of whirr but still with some songs that sound like whirrs in my opinion but they’re a good band i’d check could them out :)

+evolutionary transgression I think Distressor is classic but Around is really great too and people don't pay it enough attention because it's slow (but that's what makes it good).

I miss the female lead vocals. Made the sound sublime. Sway's still good. But not as effervescent and epic as the previous stuff.
There isn't a single song by whirr I dislike which is rare for most artists I enjoy. Even Nothing has a few tracks I don't care for. While these whirr tracks aren't as punk or dark, I think they are still solid tracks. They feel a bit like their stuff on pipe dreams to me. Pop punk feels and still shoegaze and still great in it's own way.
