Could I suggest making time jumps to skip build spoilers? Most sets I don’t care myself, but speed champions is the one theme I like to keep the surprises for when I build them. I was able to skip without much trouble though 😅
The G wagon actually is the first 4 seater speed champions set. The Lamborghini and Jaguar SUVs could seat a max of 3 minifigures, and were only really designed to seat two. The convertible is a simple build, but it is valuable simply as a base to build other convertibles. It is also the first of its kind, seating 3 minifigures with reclining front seats. I appreciate the engine detail, as all die cast model cars have this feature, and these are cars you may see on the road, so having an opening hood makes a lot of sense. Your take on the G Wagon looking like a Hummer is only true to the extent that both vehicles look fairly similar. There is a very obvious difference in the Hummer comparison so much from the side that I get the impression you couldn't come up with an actual reason why you disliked it. If you look at the picture of the G Wagon comparison, the wheels are right about the same size. The colomn bumps on the hood I believe are there to represent the ridges on the actual car. It is insane that this is priced the same as the other double pack, and is cheaper than the old 8 stud wide SUV and race car double pack. At $45 and 808 pcs, it's worth the retail price and already feels like a deal as I though Lego would be asking $50 for it, considering the smaller Ford GT and Bronco set was that price. In fact, I could have seen Lego charging $55 for it. It wouldn't be worth that price, but $45 is about 20% off the expected Lego up-charge.
@@saltycandy245 Well, it it bully and bricky, yes. But bu far, it is not the biggest SUV. I mean all these Fords, Chevy's, etc. They also damn huge, but their shapes are more smooth and it hides their real sizes, while Gwagon "hides nothing".

I went to walmart yesterday hoping these were put out early. I was pleasantly surprised and bought all 3 new speed champion sets! Just finished the G Wagon myself
I think these cars aren't that off as you described them. The Sl would actually look pretty cool with another windshield, and that G-wagon with this huge hood looks straight up like a Brabus to me. Plus, it is refreshing to see some more normal cars in the speed champions lineup
I agree, I was much more disappointed about this new Lamborghini. Clever build, but if you don't know the original car - it looks like some spaceship with wheels, probably because each of the latest Lamborghini hypercars looks like it, but in that case I don't understand why LEGO used this car for the set. Mercedes set with iconic G-Wagon and nicely build SL looks much better, I think
@@andrasporcsin9027Yeah, and in general Vision GT cars are ugly imo. The most pretty one is the Mclaren one which was included with the F1 but in general Vision GT cars are very ugly, something we can clearly see in the Lambo one, although it’s a good build

My little girl is always playing with my Speed Champion cars, she loves being able to fit a whole family in the car so I know she'll be excited by the G Wagen. There's not that many 4 seater minifigure scale cars about surprisingly.
Yeah, mine too. She loves these 4-seaters, especailly convertible or if it can be turned to it easily (DB5 is the current favorite), and I feel these two models will be new carry-all cars. Oh, how I wanted some easy to remove the rear door for G63.
The SL63 looks like the support act that you have to go through before the headliner G63. Blocky cars translate really well into Lego, like my favourite of the line, the Audi Quattro S2.
The building technique used for the g wagon is so interesting to see in a official set, with the axle going through it and using offset studs everywhere, the red and green parts to distinguish the front and back is really smart, so it's disappointing to see the solutions they came up with for the rear window and not trying to offset the spare tire a stud to help with the look of the rear. This review made me look at the speed champion Lamborghini countach set now lol
I recently got this set, and I love both of the cars! I understand the flaws both of them have, but I don't think there's a better way to make the hood be in the correct angle on the G-Wagon while still having the engine bay. But from another perspective, this set is in my opinion a great parts pack for someone! There are a few gunnetal gray pieces used in the G-Wagon, printed Mercedes logos, 3 windscreen elements in the new transparent black color, et cetera.
This set is so sick, love the gwagon as my dad has one irl, gonna buy it today Plus i think it looks accurate enough, i’m also gonna go compare it next to the real thing 👌
I bought and build the set last week and I'm loving it every day I look at it I love it I am glad Lego came out with a G-Wagon and a convertible Benz 💛👊💛👊🔥🔥🔥⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars
I see what you’re saying about the g wagon! From my view I think it looks like a Lego-ized version of the car, when I see it my first thought is “oh, that is a g wagon for Lego mini figure people.” Excited to pick it up. Keep up the good work!
I've had to request replacement stickers TWICE from Lego. They really do need to give them some kind of casing to prevent bending and stickers coming off, something that won't damage anything else in the box. Maybe a good solution is a cardboard envelope with rounded edges, and a layer of cling plastic over the sticker sheet, like what Gundam does sometimes. Now that I think of it, maybe there's even a way to make stickers no longer have that static issue where they're ever so slightly "magnetized" to the plastic when in close proximity (if you've applied stickers enough times you know what I'm talking about). That would help with quicker and more accurate placement, important for small stickers.
3:23 ummm that is so weird and unusual I see in a speed champions set. A big Technic structure instead of the premade car chassis. 5:15 and what the… a detailed engine bay in a speed champions set??? How did the designers even manage to squeeze that in
I think this set is a winner. I like both. The SL us is just cool and G-Wagon is brutal. Only think I don’t like is the all black color. This hides all the details. It should have been white or red. And keep wheel, door handles etc in black for detailing. I find this the first double pack where I equally like both. And with the massive part count, it offsets the small part count of the McLaren F1 car.
on the topic of a set having more bags for one car than the other, this is the 2nd set to do it, the M4 GT3 is 4 bags with the M Performance hybrid being 3 bags in the 2 pack from the march 2024 sets. bags for each set have been a little all over the place with speed champions this year. Mclaren F1 car is 3, Mustang is 4 and S1 Etron is 4 compared to the usual 2 bags per car
I’m not really used to these new engines and if I ever need an engine I would just make one out of bricks on my own man tbh I might get rid of the opening mechanism on the SL63 and may just turn the G wagon into the EQ one
This is a really great set. Usually, I wait for the reviews to buy a new speed champions set. However, when I saw it in the store, I HAD to buy it. This is the first SC set for 2024. There's all really good looking, I just don't have the space.
Ok, so I watch this video only beacuse the problem about the back of G63. In the video, exactly at 4:51 and after, you put that part on the vehicle. But it can connect only at the top, the three white part and the grey line. But as I can see there should be also a bottom connecton, the two 1x2 rounded grey parts which face backwards, but these are a bit higher than they should be, so I can connect this part or the top one but can not both at the same time. Is it just for me, did I something wrong?
I like that lego kept this set at €50 given its 800+ piece count. The G wagon was a awesome build, reminded me of a miniature creator build. I also like the convertible, yes a straight forward build, but It looks great. Totally understand the frustration of having to overstate this is only ever your opinion B. I believe you always give a measured approach to critique and praise. I enjoyed your review as always.
100% agree with some of the flaws but other than that it's nicely realized, detailed pair of vehicles with so unique, and unusual building techniques. Really like seeing a large SUV styled build in the theme. As far as numbered bags go I think the Bronco Trophy truck, and Mopar Dragster had 3/4 bags a piece as both were enormous builds. Considering this is an 800 piece set probably one of the best valued sets Speed Champions has released yet. Side note. G Wagon is supposed to represent a 4 door, but still looks like it only has two with the only thing to signify the rear doors is the rollers cake piece. Nice to see opening hoods, but kinda redundant if all you see is the engine cover.
Although it’s not perfect, it is definitely a very appealing set. I feel those who are crazy for Lego who will get this will fix up some of the issues the set has, while those who just like to buy some here and there won’t really be bothered and when showing it to friends and family they’ll all think it’s awesome. Definitely a set I want to buy and will be happy with :)
I’ve been waiting for your review and I enjoyed it so thanks. The G wagon seems really cool but it’s so expensive. The SL63 has kinda grown on me but I still don’t like the front - I don’t think the flip up hood is that necessary. Also the G wagon hood is annoying too how it’s so sloped but eh. I would buy if I had the money.

Always love your videos. Very balanced and detailed. Do you get two packs, one for a practice run and take notes and then one for filming? Or are you filming your first build?
I have this set,one difficulty making the g-Wagen when I placed the door handles they wouldn’t connect I tried pulling it but it won’t work end result is the back of the car can just completely collapse if I even just push a little bit. The sl 63 was good and had no problems
With what you noted about it, I almost feel like the G-wagon harkens back to the 6-stud era speed champions cars. Not in size, obviously haha, but in that something about the scale seems off in certain elements. It's a decent build no doubt, and I am interested to build it, but it's just not as "accurate" as other speed champ cars. IMHO
I had a set come with mangled stickers like that. It's a shame they can't add a little folder slot into the instructions to keep them safe but I imagine it's cheaper to just send out a new sheet for the few people who end up with destroyed ones.
At 3:06, you mentioned that you can't remember the bags being greater. However, this is true in the recent BMW M4 GT3 and other car set. That was a sticker nightmare.
While the critique is fair, I still very much enjoy the fact that a non-supercar made it to Speed Champions. Yes the G-Wagen is an AMG, but it's much less exotic than Paganis, Lamborghinis and proper race cars one can only see on the track.
That's true, I meant more like "this set has double the bags for the second build than the first one", but you are right, there were differences with previous builds.
Im getting this set just for the G Wagon as I want it for my custom minifigs. Wonder if someone will buy 2 of these and make the 6 wheel G Wagon. That would be insane.
If u want to nitpick little things like size and proportion then just get megablocks they’re way more versatile and have a specific mold for everything
I didn't expect the return of the 6x6 tile previously used for the 70 Dodge Challenger due to the bad critizism it had on its released in 2021, I bought the set just for the pony car and I must say that piece is pretty bad quality. If the SL63 had proper windshield, I probably would have purchase the set; they created a big rear windshield for the DB5 which have almost no use except for that model but didn't created a new one for the SL63 which I'm sure would have been very useful in the SC Line in the future
Great video, liked it. One question that is off topic, I have built the BMW m1000rr set and while its mostly great I noticed one thing. Gear one (the gear in which the engine runs fastest at constant wheel spin) is very stiff. I've built it twice, everything is correct so I am very confused as to why there us so much friction in that gear. Do you have any idea why this could be? I'm sure I'm not the only one. When assembling I even took extra care to minimise friction between gears by spacing them a little. No difference.
I’ll still said the Bronco R is stlll my favorite, with Urus second and the G Wagon third. I think they could have gotten away with having a race car to swap with the SL 63, or maybe a retro Mercedes? Like a AMG Hammer or S600?
I agree... my initial reaction has not changed... I won't be buying any of the June releases. It's almost like they've gotten so caught up in developing new build ideas (which are cool to see), they are starting to lose track of what the finished build should look like. The G Wagon is terrible, IMHO.
g63 is a bit too tall imo, and the bonnet is too steep but accommodates the hood which I would rather have. back window is the proper size, but the gaps around it make it worse but it is in black so is less noticeable. overall, i think it is good, especially the slant of the windows. the colour is just not for me though, too much of a big box of black. sl63 is better, to make a windscreen for it is very difficult in lego form as it would be very unstable without side windows, as the set tries to achieve and the bonnet is weird, it goes down when the real car has bulge. they should have made the panel 4 wide in its entirety. Overall, the sets are quite good, the SL63 being the better looking one but I am really happy with the interior quality and the designers paying more attention to the engine detail. very cool. would love to see more

Always love your videos. Very balanced and detailed. Do you get two packs, one for a practice run and take notes and then one for filming? Or are you filming your first build?
I only get one set, I'm filming and taking notes during the build
I have this set,one difficulty making the g-Wagen when I placed the door handles they wouldn’t connect I tried pulling it but it won’t work end result is the back of the car can just completely collapse if I even just push a little bit. The sl 63 was good and had no problems
I completed the G Wagen With no dificulties , you probable missed somthing
With what you noted about it, I almost feel like the G-wagon harkens back to the 6-stud era speed champions cars. Not in size, obviously haha, but in that something about the scale seems off in certain elements. It's a decent build no doubt, and I am interested to build it, but it's just not as "accurate" as other speed champ cars. IMHO
Why is 76924 not available with Prime. Also almost a month for shipping?
4:46 since when does Speedchampions do stickers for head/tail lights?
I like that the hoods lift up as a reminder to how often the real versions are in the garage and would cost you in maintenance 🤣
I had a set come with mangled stickers like that. It's a shame they can't add a little folder slot into the instructions to keep them safe but I imagine it's cheaper to just send out a new sheet for the few people who end up with destroyed ones.
That’s pretty good i like it
anxiously waiting for the barad dur review!
What was first 4 seater Speed Champion set?
Fantastic set!
At 3:06, you mentioned that you can't remember the bags being greater. However, this is true in the recent BMW M4 GT3 and other car set. That was a sticker nightmare.
Did I mention that I have memory issues? :)
@@RacingBrick Are you sure you mentioned that? Love your reviews btw. Not too long and to the point.
One of the times I agree with there being a clear preferable car in a double pack
I agree with your review!
imo even though the G wagon is not accurate, I really like the fact that it looks like an armored car
Thanks for video! I wanna buy it!
I do think the G-Wagon looks good but something about it seems off, probably just the hood and rear window
The BMW M motorsport pack also has 4 packs for the M4 GT3 and 3 for the M hybrid! 😊
Not feeling this set myself but keep up the good work my man.
Great video as always, thanks again for sharing :)
While the critique is fair, I still very much enjoy the fact that a non-supercar made it to Speed Champions. Yes the G-Wagen is an AMG, but it's much less exotic than Paganis, Lamborghinis and proper race cars one can only see on the track.
I LOVE t when Speed Champions look like cars you might actually see on the road, and not Formula 1 cars.
I'm definitely keen to get this Mercedes double pack before the BMW doubles pack (which is full of stickers).
I think they look cool
비현실적인 슈퍼카나 하이퍼카 대신 도로에서 가끔씩 볼 수 있는 차들이라서 더 재미있어 보입니다!
I have a question, which set would you buy, 76922, 76924 or 76925? To do alternate builds?
W lego that s so cool
3:08 The M Hybrid V8 Had 1 more bag than the M4, if this is what you mean.
That would be insane.
holy moly!
Worked hard to afford those cars? Nah, they deal bricks into the City. Why do you think Lego figures are so relentlessly happy?
If u want to nitpick little things like size and proportion then just get megablocks they’re way more versatile and have a specific mold for everything
Several other Speedy Champions models managed to get the proportions right, so it's not impossible in this universe either.
They really should start giving these offroad trucks suspension again.
No difference.
i got got set. it was awesome
In last wave's BMW double pack the one car had 3 and the other one 4 bags if I am not mistaken
Cool bro
Quality over quantity
I’m already getting this soon
I’ll still said the Bronco R is stlll my favorite, with Urus second and the G Wagon third. I think they could have gotten away with having a race car to swap with the SL 63, or maybe a retro Mercedes? Like a AMG Hammer or S600?
Hahaha the Walmart near me not only put this out two weeks early, they already reduced the price to $35 US to make room for a pool endcap
FINALLY
I agree... my initial reaction has not changed... I won't be buying any of the June releases. It's almost like they've gotten so caught up in developing new build ideas (which are cool to see), they are starting to lose track of what the finished build should look like. The G Wagon is terrible, IMHO.
Nice work. I hate that ugly hood on the AMG G63; however, I will still buy it. I love the yellow SL63. 😁
g63 is a bit too tall imo, and the bonnet is too steep but accommodates the hood which I would rather have. back window is the proper size, but the gaps around it make it worse but it is in black so is less noticeable. overall, i think it is good, especially the slant of the windows. the colour is just not for me though, too much of a big box of black. sl63 is better, to make a windscreen for it is very difficult in lego form as it would be very unstable without side windows, as the set tries to achieve and the bonnet is weird, it goes down when the real car has bulge. they should have made the panel 4 wide in its entirety. Overall, the sets are quite good, the SL63 being the better looking one but I am really happy with the interior quality and the designers paying more attention to the engine detail. very cool. would love to see more
I feel like the G Wagon looks almost like it's on a different scale
