4 Alarm Apt Fire York Center 0728 2023

At 11:45 PM on Friday July 28, 2023 a fire was reported at the Lakeside (Garden) Apartment complex in unicorporated Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. The fire was located on the roof of a large four story apartment complex on the west end of the structure. Many fire departments responded with more than 35 units and the fire was struck out at approximately 4:30 AM on Saturday - July 29, 2023. A fire investigation unit was on the scene. The fire broke out during a heavy lightning storm. There were no injuries to residents of the apartments. Three fire fighters suffering from heat related injuries were transported to local hospitals and have been released.
