Smart. Yes, giving love, to an animal or human, can give it what it needs to have it's life extended or to help it cure what ails it. I've seen this several times and have done this same thing successfully with both. Love is at the base of everything. And love is the power that holds the universe together.
I rescued a dog with a severe heart murmur. I was told she would only live to about two years old. We said goodbye when her heart gave out at fourteen and a half years old. Best dog we ever had. We still miss her.
My ex-wife and I adopted a 14-year-old dog from the shelter in February. He is full of tumors and was very neglected. Nobody wanted him. He's now with us for almost 10 months and he is the happiest guy ever. Full of energy and living his life to the fullest. It is so rewarding to give these beautiful creatures what they deserve. We knew it would last maybe one week, maybe one month, maybe one year. But it doesn't matter. When he goes, he goes in and with love...
@@tracypfau3896 what a beautiful comment about another wonderful story of rescuing an animal that was abandoned & left to die in that shelter situation…💞💝
A friend of mine had a kitten that wasn’t supposed to make it past 3 months because of multiple issues including a severe heart condition. She had him for 15 years. Against all odds and what the vets said, Bug lived a really good life. I hope the same for Ava. You never know!
It's quality time that counts. She has survived three years since, with your love and a good, happy life, she'll probably live much longer than you'd expect. Bless Ava and her loving family.
We took on a very old and weak cat from the shelter, I fell in love with him at first sight as his huge personality shone so brightly. He was a great communicator and could signal his needs very well - he would ask to be picked up, sit on window sill, be carried upstairs etc but he always made his own way to the toilet tray. He would look deep into our eyes, our souls connected asf he pass on his great experience and wisdom to us, he loved us. He had the best of everything while he was with us and lived like a king. My wife would carry him out for walks which he greatly enjoyed, very alert and interested. Arthur was with us for just eight weeks and undoubtedly it was the right thing to take him on, to give him the best final time possible but he also enriched our lives and taught us a lot about unconditional love, compassion and generosity. What a great cat Arthur was. RIP old chap.
Nothing sad about it. Sheridan said the shelter took very good care of her. And it was "only" 1 year. There are dogs out there which spent her entire life neglected and ill on the streets...
Sad but good because they took good care of her during that time and it allowed this wonderful family to find her and love her and give her a forever home! Many shelters uthanize so many animals and they don't get a second chance. Many people wouldn't have been able to afford the operation. That saved her life too. I don't know how many shelters do that much either.

I adopted a kitty cat named charlie from a shelter - she was old, shy & scared in her cage. Her gramma owner passed away. I am not a vet but this story touched my heart! “Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog’s owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle. I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn’t do anything for Belker and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.” As they made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told the vet that they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience. The next day, the vet felt the familiar catch in his throat as Belker‘s family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that the vet wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belker’s transition without any difficulty or confusion. They all sat together for a while after Belker’s Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that dogs’ lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, “I know why.” Startled, they all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned the vet. He had never heard a more comforting explanation. He says that it changed the way he will try and live. “People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life - like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay for as long as we do.”
How could anyone pass up a pup like Ava! She is unbelievable! She has such a great temperament and the way she takes care of those puppies is priceless. Ava is also very pretty, and those eyes! They are beautiful!

Like this lady, she too was an extraordinary character. Thank you so much for sharing 🐕🐕🐕

My Dora was 17 with liver cancer and had a large inoperable tumor when I adopted her. I got to spend 7 wonderful months with her so I love that this video is being shown.
I got my Peanut from Best Friends. Similar heart issues: 12 years old with heart failure. They gave him six months, so I thought it was a hospice foster...until he lived for 5 years until he was SEVENTEEN. Love changes everything for dogs and humans. Thank you for fostering ❤
It is the love that she is getting that's keeping her alive you guys take such good care of her and she's living for you guys that dog is spoiled and doesn't get in trouble for anything which is awesome
Living in a shelter has to take a toll on animals. Altho they receive the care the love the attention it's not the same as a home & family of their own it's got to be less stressful for them too. It's sad that there are so many unwanted animals but thank goodness there are shelters that try to give animals the best care thats possible & the fosters that take them in. Thank you to all that help show the animals the love they deserve!
All respect to you. It's going to be tough saying goodbye. My own pup died in front of my eyes due to an illness. It was one of the most difficult times of my life. Even after so many years I still remember that exact moment she passed away in front of me.
I had a GSD with a bad heart and was told every year he might not make it to the next. Well, eight years passed. He was the dog-love of my life. Best decision to adopt him despite the medical issue that really didn’t show until the final weeks.
One great example of what good people can do with dogs, especially dogs with illnesses! Dogs and cats with heart conditions, as mentioned in this video, there is not a lot one can do in term of medecine, one can only bring them a great quality of life.
these beautiful deserving animals sure know how to make us so happy and they tug so hard on our heart strings. God bless you and your family for taking that risk on her and doing what you do for rescue.
Just a note of encouragement. I have two cardiac stents. Was given two days to live if there was no intervention like stents or bypass surgery. Got the stents and that was almost 8 years ago. Still here, no heart attacks and the stress tests show no advance of arterial occlusion. But stress is a killer and that most definitely had alot to do with my heart problems. Your love and affection gives your dog a sense of security and that's probably the best medicine of all. Take her to her vet visits to keep up on her condition and feed her well. She will slow down as she ages, but may surprise you as to how long she lives. TLC can make all the difference and you're doing great with her.👍🙏
We took in an 18 year old collie who had been in rescue for several years, she was wonderful, sadly we only had her for 6 great months but she knew she was loved and when sweet Pip keft us we rescued another collie who is with us today.
I adopted a 12YO cat last year not knowing how long he'll be with me. At his last check-up the vet said he was "fat and happy" with no health issues apart from his weight. He's very persuasive when it comes to getting fed.
I think the power of LOVE keeps us all healthy. It definetely makes a difference in longevity and quality of life, so this dog has all the best things going for it!!! A loving home and loving family.
Thank you so very much for loving this beautiful baby & giving her a real home with real love & care ❤️ Dogs are my life and I couldn't imagine my life without them. God Bless you both 🙏
No one should be left alone including a yr she was in the shelter on her final days. Thank you for saving this wonderful family member. Spend as much time with them you will miss them dearly. I know I miss my Londen and Alley. Enjoy your life Ava you are loved by many..🥹
An inspiring story. Thank you for your generosity. I know you put your heart on the line, but, thanks to you, Ava is living her best life. Always remember that.
My baby boy Felix (cat) was diagnosed with a heart condition (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) and was given a life expectancy of 3 years maximum back in 2005. I poured all my savings into treatments and vet bills, and was blessed with 8 years with him. I still miss him terribly, and I don't for a second regret "taking a chance" on a kitten with a heart condition.
Maybe the love she's being given is extending her life. ❤️

It's your love and care that gives her reason to live this happiest of times in her life, thankyou❤❤❤
Thank you for making her life what she needs
God bless these people. Love her for as long as she has. She deserves it.
Ava found her forever home that loves her & loves her heart…❤️
Hello Suzanne
I got my Peanut from Best Friends. Similar heart issues: 12 years old with heart failure. They gave him six months, so I thought it was a hospice foster...until he lived for 5 years until he was SEVENTEEN. Love changes everything for dogs and humans. Thank you for fostering ❤
Thank you for saving Ava and giving her the life she deserves 💜💜💜
You have given her a reason to live. Bless you.
Just goes to show how much Love can heal a heart! ❤
They had said 6 months but she's been there for 3 years ♥️ ! Love can work miracles 😍🥰♥️💕
It is the love that she is getting that's keeping her alive you guys take such good care of her and she's living for you guys that dog is spoiled and doesn't get in trouble for anything which is awesome
Hello Krista
Living in a shelter has to take a toll on animals. Altho they receive the care the love the attention it's not the same as a home & family of their own it's got to be less stressful for them too. It's sad that there are so many unwanted animals but thank goodness there are shelters that try to give animals the best care thats possible & the fosters that take them in. Thank you to all that help show the animals the love they deserve!
Thank a thousand times over for giving her the love she needs
I’m glad this dog got a forever home, even if “Forever” isn’t a long time.
All respect to you. It's going to be tough saying goodbye. My own pup died in front of my eyes due to an illness. It was one of the most difficult times of my life. Even after so many years I still remember that exact moment she passed away in front of me.
Bless her precious heart and bless yours for loving her unconditionally. ♥
She thrives on love and in the process she expands love to the younger ones. Thank you for helping her ....
It’s the love that she’s getting keeping here
I had a GSD with a bad heart and was told every year he might not make it to the next. Well, eight years passed. He was the dog-love of my life. Best decision to adopt him despite the medical issue that really didn’t show until the final weeks.
OMG. What a beautiful dog and her family!
Hello Stephanie
TLC can make all the difference and you're doing great with her.👍🙏
I'm crying. Tears soaking my face 😆
So glad you found each other! Thank you for taking such amazing care of her!
We took in an 18 year old collie who had been in rescue for several years, she was wonderful, sadly we only had her for 6 great months but she knew she was loved and when sweet Pip keft us we rescued another collie who is with us today.
Such a sweet, precious girl. She deserves the best, and she has it now. A loving home.
I adopted a 12YO cat last year not knowing how long he'll be with me. At his last check-up the vet said he was "fat and happy" with no health issues apart from his weight. He's very persuasive when it comes to getting fed.
You folks are so awesome. It is great what simple love can do. Thank you.
Dogs make the world a better place everyone of them deserves a loving home and family! Glad she got a great place to live and be happy!
She’s such an angel, this video made me cry ❤
Thank you for loving that dog to life. Her time here on this earth 🌍 has been beautiful with your family. ❤️🐾🐾🐾🐾❤️
I believe there is a special place in heaven for this foster mom. God bless her and God bless Ava.
Thanks for loving her! ❤️❤️❤️
Hello Mela
I think the power of LOVE keeps us all healthy. It definetely makes a difference in longevity and quality of life, so this dog has all the best things going for it!!! A loving home and loving family.
Seniors and special needs dogs deserve all the love in their later years. ❤❤❤
Thank you so very much for loving this beautiful baby & giving her a real home with real love & care ❤️
Dogs are my life and I couldn't imagine my life without them.
God Bless you both 🙏
Hello Wendy
No one should be left alone including a yr she was in the shelter on her final days. Thank you for saving this wonderful family member. Spend as much time with them you will miss them dearly. I know I miss my Londen and Alley. Enjoy your life Ava you are loved by many..🥹
Ava is such a beautiful girl. Sweetest face ever! Such a love bug. 💜 Thank you for rescuing her.
Theyre not just great dogs looking for loving homes but, loving dogs looking for great homes. Mission accomplished Ava! 💖
An inspiring story. Thank you for your generosity. I know you put your heart on the line, but, thanks to you, Ava is living her best life. Always remember that.
What kind of life would it beif we weren't willing to put our hearts on the line?
My baby boy Felix (cat) was diagnosed with a heart condition (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) and was given a life expectancy of 3 years maximum back in 2005. I poured all my savings into treatments and vet bills, and was blessed with 8 years with him. I still miss him terribly, and I don't for a second regret "taking a chance" on a kitten with a heart condition.
Thank you for giving Ava a second chance at life, I hope that you have her in your life for a few more years yet 💕🇬🇧
You are amazing people! Thank you so much for loving her until the end! God bless you all!🙏❤️
Some people think sorry is the hardest word to,say. Those people have never had a pet. Goodbye is unbearable to utter
Loving couple with a heart of gold - God Bless you and your pets...Thank you.
