Awesome video, I had no trouble with the snap ring on my 2004. Never understand the people online that have issues with this Warn one or the factory wheel hub snap ring on the stub axle
@@bryanbuilt360 the one thing that I do like about the factory ones from Ford, is the fact that they’re auto and u don’t need to get out and lock em. 😂 That being said, was a genius idea that Ford vs all the others is u can over ride the auto if they don’t lock is get out and manually lock them 😂 It’s more of the convenience of not having to get out. 😂 but the factory ones aren’t near as good as the warn ones.
@@TheHrdcorh2ofowler agreed! Plus the fuel mileage benefits by being able to disable the front axles and driveshaft compared to dodge and GM. I think warn makes vacuum hubs now too for the Ford. I have a lariat but with the 6 speed it doesn’t give the vacuum pump or hubs. I do like that!
@@bryanbuilt360 question for u Bryan. Do those come apart so a person could get the chrome and gold powder coated black? I don’t have ANY chrome on my truck and I’d like those in black. 😂 chrome would stand out like a turd in a punch bowl 😂 😂 😂
The installation instructions that came with my #38826 set from Amazon says I also need a Locking Hub Spindle Nut Conversion Kit #32721 ($112). My truck is a 2000 F250 7.3. You don't mention this in your video. Before I tear into it, do I really need this kit? Probably also need the special spindle nut socket?
@@johndrake-p3m interesting, 99-05 should be the same axle. I do remember reading something about the conversion kit but I don’t believe it was necessary for this model!
Good point! There is a warn kit available for vacuum hubs too. This truck, despite being a Lariat, did not have vacuum hubs because it was a 6spd. Strange configuration
great video. worth it for the spring clip tech tip alone.

Informative and straightforward, great job!
Helpful video. I’ve been thinking about changing mine as well.
Thanks for the comment! Overall, not a bad job to do, and I’ve never had an issue with these hubs on anything I’ve put them on. You’ll like them!

@@bryanbuilt360 I hear ya. I have an 01 XLT F350. Mine are still working well, but been seriously considering the change like you did.

Thank you!! That was awesome.
Just waiting for mine thanks 😊
Very good demonstration, thanks for posting this video. I've Liked and subscribed.
Glad this helped out, if you have any questions when you’re working on your project, feel free to reach out!
I have never in my life seen the large snap ring go in that easy. Never.
@@williamcovert7180 it’s the whole reason I made that the cover photo for the video. 😎

Thanks for the reply. Guess I'll find out for sure when I tear into it.
Vacuum line to hub?
Might as well delete it too, and block it off at pump.

Do you not need to remove the single Philips screw on the inner gears that hold them in place? Looks like a packing screw.
Just seeing this message, my bad! The screw can stay in. It’s holds it together
