    I love Moto Guzzi V Twin engineering. Much like a car with trans. plugging into back of engine. Dry clutch, driveshaft. No, they are not perfect but they can be very reliable, long lasting, easily rebuilt bikes. My 1976 1000cc has no plastic. Tube frame. I love that it's simple with no liquid cooling. Handles good for its age and size. Is not needlessly heavy. I like the mystique. The fact that Guzzi riders often have trouble pinpointing exactly what attracts them to the brand. I listed some of my reasons. Plus there is still decent parts availability for it's age. Many are online thru Harper's and other major U.S. dealers. Have not explored this aspect in depth because I bought mine with 50,000 and put another 5,000 on it before storing it. It currently needs another I convert trans. brake pads, charging system work and probably a new wiring harness once I tear it down for a minor resto. Engine still runs sweet if a bit louder than most Guzzi's. Got H.D. mufflers on it.

    Own a 2012 V7R, have had a lot of fun with the bike. It is beautiful. But geometry sucks for long distance riding. Wish it had ABS as under hard braking it can be dicey. A huge fun bike. Value when used is probably close to nothing. Wobbled between selling, trading, giving it away and keeping it: a real mixed bag. Antique compared to my Triumph 675 STRX, but lovely in its own way....a true paradox of a bike...needs about ten more hp to be its best...yet amazingly reliable and tough.

    Glad my I convert has the old round barrel, big case 1,000cc engine and Tonti frame. I may convert from auto. trans. to 5 speed although the I convert is a joy to ride when the trans. works correctly. Police model with iron liners instead of Nicasil. Same frame as original LeMans.

    good stuff my friend!
    i have a project in mind right now to turn the yamaha bolt into a cafe racer. girlfriend is on the fence about buyin either a yamaha bolt or the duc scrambler..... i love the scrambler but as we live in Canada, it's much cheaper and easier to maintain a japanese bike.

    Nifty trick!
    Is the wheel base the same? The California seems a good bit longer!

      MrSlowestD16 You are right about the California New model, which is longer. But with older versions, the wheelbase is almost identical. Cheers.

    E a v7 racer tem o mesmo quadro que a V7 II Stornello? Embora goste das cafe racers estou mais virado para scramblers.

    • @RACER_TV
      @RACER_TV  8 років тому

      Sim, os quadros de ambos os modelos são praticamente idênticos, embora possa existir uma pequena diferença na parte estrutural da traseira de forma a fixar o guarda lamas. Mas no geral, a estrutura do quadro é igual. :) Um abraço.

      +Tapio Suhonen I'm jealous. A few months ago, i was very near of buying a Nevada 750. Unfortunately, the bike was sold before i was able to buy it. :( Good luck for your project. Cheers.

      +RACER TV Yes. I like these kind of MC videos to encourage people with their projects...and also have some new ones. So thank you for that....
      That Nevada I bought is in exellent condition: here in Finland we got a lot of them for sale.
      Custom bike oriented people do not appreciate them at all. Nevada is concidered as a girls bike.

    "...there are always unpredictable difficulties."
    But that is part of the fun & allure, isn't it. When it's finally all together - what bundle of joy and supreme satisfaction. And that's when you'd start to look for a new project to tinker with...hehe.

    • @RACER_TV
      @RACER_TV  9 років тому +1

      Ultra80s I understand your point, and i agree. But i just said "unpredictable difficulties", because i wanted to be honest about this, and also because this isn't an appropriate project for everyone by the technical needs. Thanks for sharing your good comment as usual. :) Cheers.

      RACER TV
      Oh no, I wasn't criticizing your choice of words at all. On the contrary, I wanted to add the uniqueness which you, many others, and myself see the fun & challenges of "unpredictable difficulties" because it's part of the charm when tackling such projects.
      And no, THANK YOU for all these wonderful vids. Keep up the excellent work!

    what makes v7 racer so expencive ?

    • @RACER_TV
      @RACER_TV  10 років тому +2

      That's a very good question.well, if you are talking about new bikes, maybe it is a marketing choice of Moto Guzzi.Everything that is considered beautiful, is normally more expensive.But in the used market, bikes are only expensive, when there are many buyers looking for the same bike.And that's exactly what happens with this V7 racer.

      Don't worry. The voice in this video, is only the first robotic voice i used on this channel. This video is very old. :) Cheers.

      @@RACER_TV = Whew! Love your channel and I have been following you for a while now. We spoke about 18 months ago when I bought a modified R9T 'pure' which has been designed to look like a cafe racer, but this one has a more relaxed riding position than the official racer - which I found incredibly uncomfortable.
      Having riden the BMW for a while now, my eyes (and ears) keep being drawn back to the wonderful Moto Guzzi bikes of the 80s - especially the Le Mans. The Ipothesys and Radical Guzzis look wonderful. But at £30-40k, they're too expensive sadly!
      I am on the look out for a custom Guzzi builder in the UK who can do a decent job but at around half those prices. Keep up the great work Vitor!!

    I like it, you obviously put considerable effort into this, but please learn how to pronounce Moto Guzzi.

    • @RACER_TV
      @RACER_TV  9 років тому +3

      hhkiwi67 Lol. Well, you probably don't know yet, but the voice on my videos isn't real. It is created by software, and that's why some words aren't pronounced correctly. But i already found out a solution for the "Moto Gutzzi" problem. But thanks for your comment. Cheers.

  • @Dave-sw2dm

    Half price, a lot of work, and won't be the same.

  • @jonathanmellish4439

    Don’t like the voice but the bike is pretty.

    • @RACER_TV
      @RACER_TV  3 роки тому

      Thanks. But unfortunately, things are more complicated than most people may think. I use this "robotic" voice created by software, because I'm Portuguese, and my bad English accent (and voice), can ruin the documentary character that I like for my videos. I already tried a real American voice in one of my videos, but things didn't work as I expected. Curiously, the robotic voice sounds very good for all non-English natives.
      But don't worry about this voice. I am already working on getting a good and real professional voice. Very soon it will be reality. But thank you for your feedback :) Cheers.

    This guy can't even pronounce Moto Guzzi correctly. Do not take advice from him. He obviously is not familiar with the brand!

    • @RACER_TV
      @RACER_TV  9 років тому

      PeterDad60 Lol. No. The main problem was about the voice software, that has a "bug, and doesn't recognize "Moto Guzzi" as italian words. But if you check my recent videos, you will see that i already solved this issue. Cheers.
