What’s interesting, is that the amp envelope overrides how the gate and note settings affect play back in conjunction with how the key is played (held or released). So for example, If I have a long release time, the 2 Steps loop regardless if I have a gate setting on the second step. But it won’t loop regardless of the envelope settings if I just hold the note down - it will sustain on the second step and behave according to step settings. This creates some interesting possibilities playing around with different duration combinations of both steps and how you set up your envelope.

Hi Qui, why not use the multisample option instead of wavesquence for basic subtractive synth sounds?

that's also possible, but there is a big difference, if i ever want to use lane features added to the sound, or if i want to create a sound with multiple samples where the last step is then the gate (for instance a noise attack and saw sound on the gate step where you paint your new sample sonically, it's still a saw sound in that case but you 'colored' the saw sound). Then with this method your starting point can be easely expanded.
But indeed, if you fully want to ignore all wavesequence possibilities, you can press the wave sequence select button and switch the mode to single multisample.

Maybe in another language it's "substractive", but in English the word is "subtractive". :D Great video series though.

thank you for mentioning this, i didn't know this and i changed the title of the video. It's still hard to explain everything in english for me, but i will do my best to get better at it.

Dude. This is basically the only detailed, practical tutorial series on programming Korg Wavestate. Let the man spell however he wants :)

@@mitechko - the quality of his vids is why I did mention it, I assumed he was the kind of person who is happy to fix simple mistakes in translation so people can find his videos in search better
