Hi Kristin, Jake is from the UK so they compare him to the BEATLES, when Americans hear him he gets compared to Bob Dylan. He wrote BROKEN in this teens. This kid is incredible he brings 60s back to this era, checkout more of his stuff. MUCH LOVE ♥️
He's from Clifton, Nottingham. It's an overflow council public housing estate of nearly 27,000 population, built on the southern banks of the River Trent to house people from the inner city slum clearance after the war. I understand he taught himself music via u tube.
@@willrichardson519 wow I'm from notts, knew he was from clifton and always knew it was some strange out of the way place (rough af too lol), but never knew it was purposefully built post-war to house the underclass, jesus. Did you know that Balloon Wood Estate was used to rehouse people from St.anns that were causing too much trouble there? Or the fact that St.anns is known by hospital workers as 'crazy town' because it's where they put the crazy folk who've just come from queen's medical centre psych ward? Mad little-big city, completely unique to the UK imo, nowhere else quite like it. So much latent artistic talent here too, most of it squandered. Also seems to be a place that can have a very 'heavy' and often depressing or tense vibe. Not many of us 'escape' so to speak - Jake is a lucky one - though certainly extremely gifted. It is a shame that we let so many of our artists, from writers to painters to designers and musicians etc etc, I know so many people like that here, and most of them are forced to work sh*tty jobs just to get by. The tune 'Not in Nottingham' from the old Robin Hood disney film comes to mind. Been listening to Jake for several years now. Was fortunate enough to catch him live in Phoenix 3 years ago....he was really great!! Please check out his performance at the Noble Peace Prize Ceremony with a full orchestra.
