I remember hearing it live in 2013, at a free concert in Paris... I had just graduated from highschool that day, was working in the city and found myself on this square by chance because a bunch of friends had told me they'd go. We were all living an hour away from the capital, so we had to go home before the concert ended, but I cannot forget the feels when he came on stage to sing this song.

I love this video and have lost count how many times I've watched it. It captures so many things. Even the look on Jake's face during the opening scene of the woman breaking up the fight between the two men. Jake manages to capture a look of "I've seen it all" weariness and the innocence of seeing something for the first time. Remarkable. I think he would be a fine actor someday as well as an outstanding musician.

Wow .. I came across this song last night while watching an episode of Grey's Anatomy. This is one of those songs I can play over and over and still not tire of it. So beautiful. Some songs have a haunting melody filled with heartache that speaks to you whether the lyrics are synonymous with your pain or not. So grateful for this song.
When Jake plays this song live it is just him and his guitar unaccompanied by the band. I have been lucky enough to see him play this song 3 times now and each time it was spine tingling stuff which really connected with the audience and reduced some to tears!!

This song reminds me of a friend i had in high school .When we met people thought we had known each other for years instead of minutes we just clicked .One night i was out and my mother had told me she came by the house looking for me very upset- this was before cell phones-she later took her own life that night ..i have always been haunted if i had have been home could i have saved her ...
