    As a 12 year old and playing for my local club as a 15’s player at outside center and my school, these videos are really helpful so I can improve my skill set. If I keep working to become a great player I know I will. I have always dreamed to also be an eco-scientist at Cambridge so that would also be perfect for rugby. My coaches all agree that he best weight is your own body weight and you should only start weight lifting at 15 or 16. Could you do a video of a gym session that’s body weight? I’m always told to do other sports so I also do athletics and football and a high level and do gymnastics and trampolining for my school. I am also partially sighted and they don’t do b2-3 rugby. This gives me motivation to show that being partially sighted/blind doesn’t hold you back in life. Great video Luke keep these fantastic videos coming here from England.

      I’ve had this problem and what i used to do was stop and be overwhelmingly scared of going in for the tackle, what I did was basically not go back and just go forward when someone is in front of me. Fall into him as your as strong as you want to be as your not week and can take a hit

    Do you have any advice on how to not be afraid of getting hurt in rugby? Because I feel like it's holding me back a lot and I don't want to ask my teammates because they expect me to be a beast because I'm a Prop when I'm still scared in reality..

    • @luketreharneTi7s
      @luketreharneTi7s  2 роки тому +11

      Hey 😃 I get asked this quite a lot. Getting hurt in rugby is almost inevitable; if you really can't get your head around that, then you have to have a serious conversation with yourself about whether you want to play.
      What might help is trying to build your confidence in your technique around tackling and the contact area. So at least you're giving yourself the best chance of being safe. I'd recommend really practicing your tackle technique at a low level e.g. at walking pace with a pad and gradually increase the intensity until its closer to a game scenario. Concentrate on where your head and shoulder goes to make you as safe as possible.
      Once your happy with your technique just look to implement it in games and the best way to do this is just to commit 100% to tackles and carries. The more you do this you'll start to get more confident and you're reducing your risk of injury. As soon as you go into things half-hearted then you're more likely to get injured.
      You can also work on you physical conditioning which can help reduce injuries.

      @Thatboy_hazza Рік тому +2

      What I do in rugby is whenever I feel like I’m gonna get hurt from a big guy always remember to never put your head in a bad place, if you do then you can get a bit to hurt and it could be serious, so say to yourself “I’m a beast “ “I got this” “nobody can stop me” and everything that can give your more confidence in tackling,running and overal jsut playing

    im a 16 year old playing in amateur rugby in europe, it has been my dream to become a pro as soon as possible, i belive i have potential as i have scored 12 honest tries this season i am bigger, stronger and faster than the normal rugby player i come up against. I do trackrunning, basketball, football and handball, i feel like i am pushing myself way past my limits as im starting to feel some pain in some parts of my body even though they stop easily i am worried. Can i do anything to help this?

    • @luketreharneTi7s
      @luketreharneTi7s  Рік тому

      Hey, I would suggest going to see a physio / team doctor and get their opinions. Awesome to hear how rugby is going. Sounds like you have the physical side of rugby going in the right direction. I would suggest making sure your skills are quality as well. There will be a point when you come up against players who are as big, strong and quick as you so your skills are what will set you apart.

    Could I become a pro, I’m 16 and started playing about 4 months ago, I’m already at the same level as someone who is a year into playing and have a natural build and need to play rugby, my captain said I have real potential and I hope to do well. Could I do it or is it to late for me as I’m already in a six form that doesn’t do rugby
