Republican presidential candidate and former US President Donald Trump has called upon university authorities to get encampments on university campuses removed. Calling the protesters “raging lunatics and Hamas sympathisers”, he said he enjoyed watching the police clear demonstrators from the Columbia University campus in New York.
He also snubbed a proposed plan of the Biden administration to relocate some Gaza refugees in the United States. “Under no circumstances shall we bring thousands of refugees; we don’t want jihad in the United States," he said.
