Can you connect your RAINPOINT 2-zone sprinkler to the WiFi and RainPoint App without WiFi hub? Does it needs to have a hub to be accessible via App?

I've never tried that ... I don't think it would work without thte hub but it's worth a try.
Of course you could use this manual with no wifi but you lose a ton of automatic features. They do make make sprinkler timers that are "set it and forget it" which is perfect for early morning waterings... search my videos, I have another sprinkler timer that I use instead of this Rainpoint timer

Any problems with leakage? Do I need to use a hammer arrestor

I had to use the plu bers tape for leakage. .. once that was in everything was good. I use it daily and delay when rain is forecasted. Garden is doing great

How did you get the correct date set?

If I remember right it was through the app. Once I connected through my network it was automatic. I could be wrong

It’s too bad they sell WiFi only and WiFi/bluetooth timers where the hubs aren’t cross compatible.

There are several other timers for sprinkler systems that work just as well...check my channel and use the search feature, I think I've done 3.
