I never pulled the trigger for two reasons, first, it was the first version, cardinal sin of tech is to buy the first of anything, second no buttons. I couldn't do it. I've wanted one for about four years, so when this one came out, I was all over it!
@@mistaj27 I can definitely relate with all you said. Not having any buttons on the screen did slow me down, and I needed to make sure that I had access to my "sport" button. I actually debated on doing the Soundman iPad conversion.
@Swen-bk3kz it was installed on my car for six months at the time of the release of the video, at this point its been near a year. Improper install isn't the fault of the product, but operator error. Some people aren't ment for DIY lol
What about being able to raise and lower the rear shade? Or turn on and off sport mode? My rear button for the shade doesn’t work and I don’t think there’s an actual button for sport mode

You might be able to get an update online and put it on a thumbdrive and get it done that way but if the touchscreen isn't working not sure if you'll be able to transfer. Honestly I'd try a old fashioned hardware reset, basically turn it all the way off and on again. I'd disconnect the battery terminal of your car, and wait thirty seconds before reconnecting. This will kill all power to the unit causing it to power down and reboot. Alot of tikes these things never fully shut off because they are constantly connected to power. Sometimes a reset is all that's needed to fix a bug. If you fix the touchscreen with that, then you can proceed to update the unit on screen.
SRT pages are baked in, so you get them even if your not srt, however, the functions like line lock launch control etc, will only work Iif your an srt model. Sport mode button is one of the six customizable buttons, works perfect.
Does the new unit have any sort of preamp outs for connecting an amp? Im pulling signal from the rear deck speakers with a loc and the signal is TRASH :(
Yes Sport Mode still has a physical button, Heated Cooling functions are always on display at the button. The six buttons can be customized to anything you would like to ask Pheonix Auto to put on before shipping, so if you want physical buttons for heated seats/steering, just ask.

The Tesla Screen does have Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto, but alternatives would be much cheaper I'm sure. I think the screen gives a much needed modern update to the interior.

I own my 300 since 2019 and looked for a SRT8 model but no chance to find one in Germany… there are a few SRT8 models in Germany… first I want a 300S also a 5,7 Hemi but the facelift model up than 2015-2018 models the speedometer looks better, the uconnect radio is better and and and… whatever Im happy with my John Varvatos edition yeah the interior looks so good, the leather is good… I have many friends with Dodge Charger and Challenger they are very popular here in Europe more than a Chrysler, but my heart is beating for the 300😅 I own before the 2006 model, too. Will the new screen allow you to get to the heated seat and vented buttons and other features like rear sunscreen I've been holding off of making the jump due to them features
The buttons on the unit are customizable to whatever you want them to be, you can let Pheonix Auto know in the email what you want them to be. All three of those controls are baked into the on screen climate controls.
Bro, I just got this unit delivered today and to my surprise... no one was willing to install it. I contacted 5 shops near me and they would not touch it. I got concerned and was even considering returning the unit until I saw this video. You are right... there is not a ton of information out there about how to properly install and setup these units. But after watching your video, I am gonna try the install myself and see what happens. Can you do a more comprehensive video on the prep. Like, how did you transfer the vent tubes from the old harness to the new radio frame? Where can I find a wiring guide so I can know what the different wires and plugs are once I remove them from the old radio?
I will be posting a short here in the near future of what I did to wire the harness. I didn't have a wiring guide, there is a video on Pheonix Automotives youtube channel, that gives an over view of what to expect. I watched that, but mostly worked backwards. The wires have identifiers on them for what they go to, so it's mostly deduction of what you do/don't have, but some are trickier then others.
As far as how to remove the vents, they are installed the same way as the trim around the head unit, with tension clips. Firm, steady pulling, no jerking, straight away from the unit will free them. At first, you will think you’re breaking it, but as long as you pull straight away from the fittings, they are designed to “snap in/off”. Removing them is the trickier part, once you do one, it will be very natural to do the other. Reinstalling them is as simple as lining it up to the slot, and pressing it in.
Also, I would reaffirm to any installers, that this is a new version of the head unit, the older, prior version, required cutting and removing parts of the trim of you car. It could be that reason why they are reluctant to do the install for increased liabilities. As long as you have this one, the one with buttons, there is no cutting required, it is plug and play. You may have more success finding an installer if they understand that. There’s that and most of your major installers, CarToys, Best Buy, etc, are only going to install products that are purchased through their own product lines, again liabilities, you’d have to take something like this to your more independent installers, and hope for the best.

I have a 15 S (5.7). It has buttons for lane departure, collision avoidance, and parking sensors. Are these options still in the menu? I only turned off lane departure btw
It retains all factory functions. The six buttons are able to be configured to whatever you want. When you order they will ask you what you want assigned to the buttons.

If I'm not mistaken, I don't believe your blind spot detection has anything to do with the deck, other then the audio beep that is played through the speakers? The sensors are in the bumpers of the car and remain untouched by the install. I feel like removing the oem deck regardless of whatever you replace it with would not have any adverse effect of blind spot monitoring. Are there any existing options on the oem deck to control BSM? If not, I'd be pretty confident it would still work, as it's a system completely independent from the deck.

My reverse camera been tripping like when in reverse w.e is on my left side in person my camera displays it on my right side of the screen. Do you think by just upgrading to this screen that problem is fixed?
I wouldn't count on it, I would lean towards it being a bad backup camera, Mopar cams are notoriously bad. I've had issues in my Durango, Rebel, and my 300s went completely bad, I use a streaming mirror so no need to fix it, but it sounds like you need to swap out the camera itself first.

I'm not sure, never been a fan of the tazer, other then the SRT pages, it's just a non permanent tune. The Tesla screen gives the pages, my suggestion is spend the same money it would cost to get the device and put it towards a tune. Only my opinion.

Not familiar, but from what I can see, it looks exactly like Pheonix Automotives first gen screen. I don't like that it doesn't have any buttons or nobs. Too many things get buried in submenus, like the sport mode button requires navigation through four different menus to find. Buttons help out alot with the user experience.

Negative, steering controls are completely retained, no additional programming needed, you can even change their functions in the settings if you so choose
I have a digital streaming mirror, I use that. My reverse cam on the car went bad a while back and I never bothered to fix it. It needs a new camera. My guess, would be that it's a camera issue, what do you mean by bad quality? Like, is the image blurry? The lines not moving? Stuttering? If it's stuttering or the guidelines aren't working properly, that sounds like it could be the screen, I don't know a fix other then to pull it back out and make sure wiring is still in check. I did have a harness come loose after install, and I had to reconnect it. If it's blurry image, blinking, static, or black, that sounds like a camera issue and the camera will need to be replaced.
Internet does not run via usb. Either Ethernet, or Thunderbolt. Either connect your phone to the screen via Bluetooth, so the screen is running off your phone, or turn on WiFi sharing from your phone and connect in your wifi settings on the screen. I use WiFi sharing.
LMAO EASY! Because V6 owners don't tend to thrash their cars like V8 owners do. V6 owners are comprised of drivers who are concerned about two things, MPGs and COST. Drivers of V6s are more likely to be your "tamer" drivers, non-racing, daily commuting, point a to point b drivers, whereas V8 owners are concerned about one thing, power. Your V8 owners are your more aggressive drivers, guaranteed, and it's no different for any model of car...so it's nothing special that a V6 does, it comes down to, like everything, how the owner respects and takes care of their car. Mines is eleven years old and going strong coming up of 200k.
Okay, well I can try, how did you wire it? Did you keep the dongle in the dash? If so I'd recommend routing it through the dash behind your b pillar and attaching to the windshield above the mirror for best reception...if you've already done that, I'd check to make sure all the connections are in good standing, and if you don't find any problems there, reach out to pheonix auto. I don't have Apple music, I use Amazon, and UA-cam music, the one you were seeing was UA-cam music. Scaling issues are going to be present because the apps are ment to run natively on phones. It depends on if the app has been made to scale up or not. For me, UA-cam will scale up, because Google has tablets and folding phones, they've designed the app to run on larger screens, whereas Amazon will not scale, it is tiny af. It's not alot to do for these, as it's not a problem with the screen itself.

Appreciate you! Yes it does have and retain all of the functionality of the SRT pages. They don't exactly look the same but everything is there, line lock, launch control, drive modes, and all your info pages as well. They are baked in, so even if you aren't SRT, you get the pages, no tazer required. Of course launch control and those options will only work of you do have a SRT model.
Not in my experience have I seen anything to that effect. Features that the car doesn't have like line lock and launch control simply don't work, but I can still navigate to the pages regardless.
What backup camera issue? Sorry to he unclear. The factory installed Chrysler camera doesnt work. It's a known Mopar issue. I've had the same thing on my Durango, and occasionally on my 1500, Chrysler uses crappy cameras that have to be replaced. I have a streaming review mirror, my review is an "always on review feed" instead of a mirror. It has its own camera system, so when it came time to install the Tesla screen, I simply didn't plug the stock camera feed into it, because I didn't need it, and I have a preferable alternative to fixing Chryslers crappy cameras. The issue has no relation to the screen, I could plug my mirror into the screen, and it would display on the screen, but then I'd loose the feed to my mirror, where I'd rather have it, more natural to my preferences.
I love the engine, but I’d say their interior and exterior is a bit outdated. It’s been the same for the past 5 years. Literally. Also, imagine your package making it all the way to you, just to be damaged inches away from your front door by some raging delivery person haha.
By and large it's been the same for twelve years, outside if minor tweaks, the dash gauges and the transmission dial, nothing is different. It's arguable that it has aged very well, but I feel that's why they ended it in the 23 model, we're due for a major refresh.

Yes I have a 2013, and I believe that that little nuance was for 2015 and up models that had to cut the tabs. I did not have to cut, direct fit.

I have a digital streaming mirror, I use that. My reverse cam on the car went bad a while back and I never bothered to fix it. It needs a new camera. My guess, would be that it's a camera issue, what do you mean by bad quality? Like, is the image blurry? The lines not moving? Stuttering? If it's stuttering or the guidelines aren't working properly, that sounds like it could be the screen, I don't know a fix other then to pull it back out and make sure wiring is still in check. I did have a harness come loose after install, and I had to reconnect it. If it's blurry image, blinking, static, or black, that sounds like a camera issue and the camera will need to be replaced.

You've got two full sized USBs. So sure you could connect anything from a SD card reader to a portable SSD.

Internet does not run via usb. Either Ethernet, or Thunderbolt. Either connect your phone to the screen via Bluetooth, so the screen is running off your phone, or turn on WiFi sharing from your phone and connect in your wifi settings on the screen. I use WiFi sharing.

LMAO EASY! Because V6 owners don't tend to thrash their cars like V8 owners do. V6 owners are comprised of drivers who are concerned about two things, MPGs and COST. Drivers of V6s are more likely to be your "tamer" drivers, non-racing, daily commuting, point a to point b drivers, whereas V8 owners are concerned about one thing, power. Your V8 owners are your more aggressive drivers, guaranteed, and it's no different for any model of car...so it's nothing special that a V6 does, it comes down to, like everything, how the owner respects and takes care of their car. Mines is eleven years old and going strong coming up of 200k.

Okay, well I can try, how did you wire it? Did you keep the dongle in the dash? If so I'd recommend routing it through the dash behind your b pillar and attaching to the windshield above the mirror for best reception...if you've already done that, I'd check to make sure all the connections are in good standing, and if you don't find any problems there, reach out to pheonix auto.
I don't have Apple music, I use Amazon, and UA-cam music, the one you were seeing was UA-cam music. Scaling issues are going to be present because the apps are ment to run natively on phones. It depends on if the app has been made to scale up or not. For me, UA-cam will scale up, because Google has tablets and folding phones, they've designed the app to run on larger screens, whereas Amazon will not scale, it is tiny af. It's not alot to do for these, as it's not a problem with the screen itself.

Appreciate you! Yes it does have and retain all of the functionality of the SRT pages. They don't exactly look the same but everything is there, line lock, launch control, drive modes, and all your info pages as well. They are baked in, so even if you aren't SRT, you get the pages, no tazer required. Of course launch control and those options will only work of you do have a SRT model.

Not in my experience have I seen anything to that effect. Features that the car doesn't have like line lock and launch control simply don't work, but I can still navigate to the pages regardless.

I Was Sold Till The Backup Carmera Issue
What backup camera issue? Sorry to he unclear. The factory installed Chrysler camera doesnt work. It's a known Mopar issue. I've had the same thing on my Durango, and occasionally on my 1500, Chrysler uses crappy cameras that have to be replaced. I have a streaming review mirror, my review is an "always on review feed" instead of a mirror. It has its own camera system, so when it came time to install the Tesla screen, I simply didn't plug the stock camera feed into it, because I didn't need it, and I have a preferable alternative to fixing Chryslers crappy cameras. The issue has no relation to the screen, I could plug my mirror into the screen, and it would display on the screen, but then I'd loose the feed to my mirror, where I'd rather have it, more natural to my preferences.
I love the engine, but I’d say their interior and exterior is a bit outdated. It’s been the same for the past 5 years. Literally.
Also, imagine your package making it all the way to you, just to be damaged inches away from your front door by some raging delivery person haha.
By and large it's been the same for twelve years, outside if minor tweaks, the dash gauges and the transmission dial, nothing is different. It's arguable that it has aged very well, but I feel that's why they ended it in the 23 model, we're due for a major refresh.
