As someone who doesn't watch like romatic/rom-com stuff and generally has the "men don't cry" mindset, this shit has me crying like a bitch

I recommend "A silent voice" it's full to the brim with action and I recommend you watch it blindly cause some clips and fans are spoilers
Me in the first episodes: "man! this shorty is weird af, get tf away from her you psycho"
Me in the last season: "PEEEAAAKK!! GET THIS MAN A MEDAL!! TRUE PROTAGONIST RIGHT HERE!!"
Even in the first episode you can see what a kind and determined guy he really is. Norio is a genius, even in such an essentially simple story, she writes the characters very carefully.

Kyotaro is the best new-age romance MC, I see no other standing next to him in terms of character development.
He’s in a completely different league from the rest
He definitely deserves all this praise, watching his growth during these two seasons was gold like what the manga and anime represent to me.
I'm guessing you don't read much romance novels not saying he isn't but there a few out there that deserves its praises
@@Animexfederation I’d say I read too many that are just carbon copies of each other. I’d love to find another romance manga as good as this one. Only other ongoing that I read that comes close is Blue Box, but even that MC doesn’t have as much character development as Kyo imo.

The Dangers in My Heart is somehow even *better* than Komi Can't Communicate imho. The key thing to keep in mind is that Kyotaro isn't actually crazy or homocidal, he's just a dorky edgelord middle schooler. Anna also has a lot going on internally; she's not just a one-note gag. This series does a great job revealing the layers of these characters slowly, as they gradually open up to each other to forge a genuine relationship.
I loved the premise of Komi Can't Communicate but a lot of the side characters really irked me. Dangers in My Heart got everything I want from a romcom, good leads, good development, good moments and good side characters.
Much like 100 Girlfriends, Komi is comedy first, romance second. Every character is a trope/pun that will never get fleshed out or develop properly with the exception of Tadano, Manbagi and Komi (maybe Rei). Seeing how willing the author drags the relationship development, I can safely assume that there is a plan to get them together but it's never the priority, 100 friends first (expanding casts), daily life second (comedy slice of life) and lastly the relationship.
The Dangers in My Heart is a bit like Oregairu, except without a love triangle and with adorable moments up times 100, and the fact it doesn't need one is probably why I liked it so much more than Oregairu (which I admit is technically speaking a good story as it's one of the very few romance animes with an actual ending).
Whenever there is a love triangle I end up liking exactly the one that never wins "because girl #1 always has to win". :/
It's why I love Bokuben and Quintuplets, for at least drifting away from the norm.

Ngl I had no expectations watching this series. I finished S2 last week and although the series itself is not finished, it’s very wholesome. Ichikawa and Yamada has this relationship that really compliments each other and both face similar struggles just different ways.
Same. It's why you gotta stick to 3-episode-rule. Some great anime just can't have a banger first episode, because they're more of a slow burn.
It was only around episode 9 onward that I started to look back and think of how much my enjoyment of it was exponentially growing. Yamada is just too much of an adorable INFP.
