Pretty good overall Maintenance video Robert Reynolds...
Re: 39:22 to 39:30 - The lower sheave on the separator fan does NOT have a "slip clutch" on that shaft. That is just a spring loaded variable sheave. Dirty air is drawn in and by it all day, and dust can gum up the bushings. Increasing fan speed via the upper electric drive v pulleys puts a lot of stress on the fan shaft if the lower variator does not open up easily. Related deflection of the shaft can fail / blow up the fan as a whole.
Re: 1:01 Overfilling main gearcase.... Need to emphasize that the main hydraulic tank should be "Checked with header on the ground" per label. If header is raised there is about 3 liters of oil in the modern large 3" diameter feederhouse lift cylinders. Adding a gallon of oil to bring the level up to the sight glass, will most likely result in overflow when the feederhouse and header is subsequently lowered to Field Operation position.
Re: 52:00 range The front Primary Gearcase (located right behind the cab, under the Graintank) actually runs the "Front end functions" (not Rear of the combine, as stated) Input from the main engine gearcase through the driveshaft drives the front header, feederhouse, plus right side FAST, elevators, and cleaning fan, shoe and rethresher. Best regards, Alan VN

hey good to see someone actually is listening and paying attention to the details. I am one of those persons and found few things where i could share few thoughts.
in referencoe to the cleaning fan sheaves I never seen gummed up bushings. Three aligning/torque transferring pins are always a cause of hanging up and not allowing to turn up the air volume .
in refference to overfilling main gearcase _____MEG____ where main gearcase is MEG Main Engine Gearcase and it is not a hydraulic reservoir for a header lift cylinders . Oil for header lift is provided by several types of systems depending on model and many other factors. Gear pump vs PFC etc.etc. MEG oil level is for drive system and few other functions associated with propulsion systems.
in refference to Primary Gear Case (located right behind the right hand corner of the CAB ) is used to power up header functions and thru a feeder house drive chain feeder house conveyor chain so it is front end functionsbut also thru a shaft it drives feed, both elevators ,cleaning fan and shoe ....why ? because it is 90 degree gearbox and it converts driveshaft into a cross shaft that passes thru a Primary Gearbox
there is millions of combines and many more people to run them and we have to say .......Combines are feeding the world's population. How many people will eat breed from one combine like that ?
Don't forget about all hard working people in any proffesion possible . I have huge respect !

Interesting on feed accelerator on slow for wheat. Would you leave it on slow for soybeans also. Know it is on slow for corn but what about beans.
