Re: Joan Crawford’s stepfather-An adult male isn’t “involved” with an 11 year old girl. If there is a sexual relationship, the adult is abusing, molesting, and interfering with the child. Saying he was “involved” implies that she had some agency in the relationship. She was 11. Don’t let abusers off the hook by softening language.

Exactly! 💯 It's so disgusting that plenty of those men impregnated, married, and ruined them. No one spoke up. I feel like if men had their true way they'd make it a law stating they can openly be with minors. Hollywood has hid sick in moral thing's. It needs to be dismantled. 🤢 The thing's they've always done to women are despicable to say the least.

@@dagny8336 why would you say something like that to the person who posted this. One doesn't have to be "ancient" for this to be plausible. Not everyone has children in their teens and twenties. My grandparents were born in the late 1800s, when they were 45 and 50 with most of the kids out of the house, they ended up with woops babies. My dad was one of those twins and he and my uncle were born in 1928. I'm only 63, maybe you consider that ancient. What this person has said is neither impossible nor improbable. As for Mr. Mayer, he had a horrible reputation for being arrogant, condescending, a proclivity for actresses, particularly the underage ones. Because of his power he got away with some very horrible things that wouldn't fly today, as shown by the incarceration of Harvey Weinstein.

You know, nothing much changes. In a lot of states there isn't a minimum age for marriage if the parents consent.
I've read of girls as young as 11 being married off, legally. Some representative from Arkansas (of course Arkansas) said, "I've know people as young as 12 that have gotten married and still are." He clearly didn't understand it.

But without Louis B. Mayer, the great Secretariat would never have existed. Mayer bred and owned Secretariat's damsire (mother's father), Princequillo, who passed on the large heart X factor gene through Big Red's dam, Somethingroyal. He also arranged for PQ and his dam to be transported by ship from Ireland to America at the height of World War II. Princequillo"s sire, RosePrince (or was it PrinceRose?) was killed by German artillery fire when his stud farm in France found itself caught in the crossfire between Allied and Axis forces. Mayer moved his horses first to Ireland, to protect them, then to America, but they were caught in a Nazi blockade. When they finally arrived, poor little PQ was looking very unlike the future legend he would become. Mayer sold him, his new owner raced him successfully then sent him to stud, and the rest is history!

Most girls and boys that have been abused in that way don't continue to abuse anyone else. Didn't address the rumor of Natilee Wood being raped by Kurt Douglas.
I was in a club of old retired men in California and once a month we had lunch and a guess speaker. One of those speakers was a retired deputy corner from L.A.
He had done autopsies on several stars including Wood. The only thing he would really say was, "She was very drunk when she died."
O'Hara starred with John Wayne in The Quiet Man. At the very end of the movie she says something to John Wayne and he gets a shocked look on his face. The director, John Ford told her what he wanted her to say and she didn't want to say it.
Ford promised not to record it or tell anyone but he wanted a shocked look on Wayne's face.
In the end she whispered it in Wayne's ear and it worked. Neither Ford, Wayne, or O'Hara ever told anyone what she said.

Maybe I missed it, but who gets mandatory bed rest for a C-section? I had my child in 2011 via C-section. Within 24 hours of it, I was gotten up and walking. Everyone else I know who have had them were not give bed rest. I had extensive cancer surgery in 2020 and within two days they were getting me up. So I guess I am just confused on why a C-section would require bed rest. No, I couldn't go up and down stairs for the first several weeks, but that was due to not wanting that incision to open. Maybe I missed the part on why bed rest was required. 🤔
As far as the care of the child and such, yes, most times it will still fall to the mother to do things. The only reason why I couldn't after my cancer surgery was because I had lot of healing in my left arm from where that took a bone and tissue graft in an attempt to reconstruct the right side of my jaw and when I went through chemo and radiation, I got really sick so could barely get up each day let alone do housework. However, I did what I could. And after I felt better once treatments were done, I did a little more every day. Take things slow and do what you can.
