I'm beginning the M.A in Teaching, English Education (Secondary) program on November 1, and I would love to see a detailed video on the pacing guide! :) Love your channel. Thank you for all the great information on WGU!
I’m starting classes for my Bachelor of Arts, Elementary Education on November 1st. What’s been the biggest challenge for you? Have you ever failed an exam? What was the most challenging course?
Please do a video on the pacing guide. I'm in the Elementary Education program and I'm knocking out a course a week at this point, just waiting for the assessments as I'm still a few days away from my "official" start date. I have no idea what a realistic cohort date for me is at that pace.
Your videos really inspire me to go further! I’m at the WGU academy going to be heading to the teachers college this November to get my licensure in Washington state!
Hi I am also trying to attend WGU for teaching. Can u make a video explaining how u plan on paying for college as far as financial aid or grants or scholarships and offer any recommendations please?
I would like to hear more about the pacing guide 🖐️ I will be starting with WGU Nov. 1st. I would like to hear more about what the classes are like. I just recently finished a college algebra class at a community college, does this mean I won't have to take any math classes? Also, are you allowed to pick your own classes or do they pick them for you? Thanks for the videos! 😁
Kathryn Evans What program are you in? I know for all of the Science Education programs they have to have already completed a Natural Science with a lab and a College Algebra class. I know for Mathematics Education, prospective students have to have taken College Algebra as well as a Pre-Calculus class.
It honestly depends on whether or not WGU will accept it as a transfer. Luckily for me my college algebra class did transfer but I still had to take 3 math courses. Math for Elementary Educators 1,2 and 3. They aren't crazy difficult but they aren't super easy either. As far as I know, all degree plans have preset classes. You cannot choose classes. Although, their is some flexibility with the order that you take those classes.
Thank you for replying. I was just accepted a couple days after I asked this question. Starting Oct. 1st. My College Algebra did transfer. I still have to take Math I & Math III. Thought it was weird that Math II wasn't taken off. All of my questions were answered during orientation and by my program mentor, Jessica. So excited to start and 'bout to hit the ground running with course work 🤨
Just finished my BA in Educational Studies,m through WGU, and I recommend it 100%. The course and student mentors are the best! They are there for you and really care for your success!
I’m starting classes WGU in Elementary Teaching in Oct and am pretty nervous about online classes. Can you elaborate a bit on how you were able to schedule of program yourself to finish classes so quickly? Thank you so much for being so calm and collective in your videos. Congrats on your success. I wanted to finish my Bachelors in less than a year and a half.
Don't be nervous! They really aren't as bad as it seems. Even though WGU is an online university the amount of support you can get through them is incredible! Utilize your course instructors if you are struggling! They are so helpful and kind! You can definitely accomplish that goal just make sure you stay motivated and positive! As far as finishing my classes I made sure that I stuck to very strict deadlines that I set for myself. I will be filming a video this week breaking down my study binder and in that binder is a chart I made to keep myself on track which will be explained further :) Good luck at WGU, you will do great!
Main stream universities aren't exactly producing the pick of the litter these days. WGU is a wonderful university and their proctored exams weed out the issues that other universities have. Anyone not mastering these subjects would be weeded out by any classroom they would attempt to teach in. These kids are merciless in recording our sessions and commenting on them, something I welcome as it show that they are researching the subject matter.
I am a student at WGU in the teacher's program. If you want a quality program, go elsewhere. If you want convenience and speed go to WGU. WGU is a cookie-cutter correspondence school. You have Masters and Ph.D.level instructors some are very helpful and some are there for a paycheck only. There is a great deal of redundancy. The exams suck and the rubrics are pedestrian at best because they are more concerned with your bibliography and rubrics points than what you actually put in it. In the end, however, who cares. If you want a sheepskin and want to do it fast and cheap, then WGU is your "school"

@M Muss Simple in person SAT type testing with every job interview would prove this very point.
