    I doubt the carbon content is high enough to be an actual edged weapon. You need at least .8 carbon content for steel to be hard enough to hold an edge. What you have there is the exact opposite of a survival knife since it will not stay sharp. It is a nice wall hanger though.

      Hello James, I had it in the oven for 400° for 2 hours

    Fantastic craftsmanship however I do have a complaint about your wording. While technically any knife can be a "survival"knife, personally I would be concerned about the handle breaking on me during rough usage. Now i know you aren't going to chop down 4 inch diameter trees for fun, but outside of light work i would not want to have this. That being said i do not at all doubt your skills and you've made a beautiful tool. I hope you make many more because you've proven yourself.
