I really enjoy watching your videos. I’m a 68 year young woman redoing a 1988 Pace Arrow Fleetwood 454 Big Boy Motorhome. It’s been many ups and downs but coming along. Thank you Gale
Wow, that sounds like a big undertaking! Thanks for watching and good luck on your project!
I love your family RV adventures. I’m so sorry your family has lost sweet Maggie. 😢
Thank you. And thank you for your sympathies.
I just saw the end! I’m so sorry for the loss of your sweet Maggie. 🙏🏻😪
Thank you 🥹
Had a '85 20' Holiday Rambler for many years. Your reno has me missing my 'lil dollhouse'.
Awww 💚 We're going to try to make the holiday rambler into a fancier little place.
Sorry for your loss. Sure glad you were able to enjoy some family time.
Thank you. It was nice to spend some quality time together 😁
This videos are so cool. I've always wanted to fix up my old camper.. you guys are showing me how and we're to start at..have fun and keep videos coming. Thank you..
Thanks for watching and commenting!
We stayed in that exact spot last week. Always a great time there.
Nice!!! It was our first time at that park. We'd go back 😁
Thanks Guys, great video!!!! Oh Maggie, I'm so sorry
Thank you, she declined pretty rapidly. We're all pretty sad but she was very sick 😢
Sorry for your loss 😢
Thank you. Her decline happened so quickly. She was a good one. We'll miss her 🥹
Great video. Not gonna lie. Would enjoy a Reno video more. But will never forget that the people making these videos have lives. And super appreciate you letting us ride along and enjoy your great family and awesome life
Thanks, Ken! We agree... We're planning to get back to the reno stuff in our next video 🥳. We were stressing trying to get the holiday rambler video out before our trip and just ran out of time. Glad you enjoyed the video.
I love this kind of videos along with the fixer up ones keep it up only put out more often.
Love it all.👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks! 💚 We're trying!
Yes! You are so devoted to your research! Funny clips, and it looked like a great family trip! We're glad the traffic sitch wasn't too bad.
Huh. I say "seagulls" just like you do. Doesn't everybody?!😁
Haha, the "traffic sitch" 😂 It looked like a big backup but it was just one truck 😂
On your way to church I had to laugh, the back edge of the window made Jack look like Alfalfa from the little rascals. 22.28 The face he made was priceless! Too funny not to share. Looks like you guys had a blast! Happy for you and the family. Thanks for sharing with us.
Oh my gosh, that's too funny. We just watched it and you're right 😂. We're happy you enjoyed the video!
Anybody else think that Tyler looks exactly like the guy in growing pains, the series, the father?
So.... Growing Pains or Family Ties?
This was so much fun to watch! I loved following along!
Thank you so much 😁
Love the floating shorts and shirt! Great editing. 😊
Thanks!😁
Good seeing you guys! It looks like you had a lot of fun!
Yes, thank you for watching!
Hi , your channel is amazing; I've never seen this type of van conversion before. We would like to show part of your videos in some video/s report about your channel. We will add your link, your name, and your work will be mentioned in the video. Thank you!
Hello, if this is legit, we're flattered and excited. Please email us if you need anything - retrorevivals76@gmail.com.
@@retrorevivals Hi! Did you check your email? Thank you! :)
@QuantumTech - we don't seem to have an email from you. Can you resend? retrorevivals76@gmail.com
Just found your email, sorry about that, it went to spam!
My parents had a 20 ft late 1960s Holiday Rambler when I was growing up. They sold it in the late 80s. But it looked like one you saw except our fridge was on floor next to the outside door. We had the light wood.
That sounds cool! They sure don't make them like they used to 😁
My brother and I just rode our Honda Goldwings from Colorado to his home in Midland, Michigan. We visited Towas, including the old lighthouse and swim beach last week, probably at the same time you did.
I live near Golden, Colorado, where Coors Beer is made (I saw the Coors T-shirt).
Another beautiful place to visit is the Dow Gardens and Canopy Walk in Midland.
I, too, have restored a vintage trailer, a 1969 Gold Star, made in Loveland, Colorado. Not many of them around that I know of. I’ve enjoyed taking it to vintage trailer rallies in Branson, Missouri and LaVeta, Colorado since completing the restoration in 2022.
Thanks for taking the time and for making the effort to make these videos!
Very cool! We'll have to check out the attractions in Midland. Also, congrats on saving the trailer and taking it on the road. Enjoy your adventures 😁
Great video, nice to see you enjoying your family together. Looked like it was a success. Love all
the video’s. Keep ‘em coming!!
Thank you! We're trying!
Looks like a very nice area to camp.
Super nice! Just remember the bug spray 😉
Hey, you’re in my neck of the woods! One set of grandparents lived in Glennie near the Ausable River, the other built a house in Harrisville on Lake Huron. I love the sunrise side! We live in a beautiful state & it’s always fun to see you guys enjoying it. And, reviving vintage campers of course. 😎🖖🏻
Love that term, "the sunrise side." There are so many beautiful places here ❤️
Dang Nab that looks like a lovely place to take a break :)
Dang Nab! You're right 😆
So, so, very sorry to hear about you puppy. It's heart breaking when you loose one of your fur babies 😢
Thank you
Love you two and your videos. They are very wholesome. something you could feel free to watch with my family.Thank you both..P.S You have almost convinced me and my wife to fix up an old trailer.😂
Thank you! We really to our best to keep things family friendly. There's not much out there these days that families can watch together. Projects like these are a lot of work for sure but it's rewarding when it comes together. Thanks so much for watching!
I love my blackstone 36" and your videos are making me soooo miss camping right now. My wife want to get a class A we started with a tent. Our last was a 30' Jayco i pulled with a 2015 Tahoe.....
We're so thankful to have this time with the kids. Even after they're grown and gone, we're hoping to be able to travel just as a couple and explore more of the country ❤️ Thanks for watching!
At our age, our idea of “Roughing It” is in a Holiday Inn or an Airbnb
😂😂 Yes! That's not a bad way to go either!
If you ever choose to go back , you have East Tawas right down the road.
There you have Dairy Queen restaurant which is one spot over from the right aid./ Ben Franklin store. There you can get everything from bug.Spray to a coffee maker toothbrushes to matches.
Thanks for the tip 😁
Looks like a good trip enjoyed by all. Your floating clothes were cracking me up! I’d never seen that before 😂 We camped north of there last summer. I got some amazing sunrise photos. Sorry for your loss 🐾💙
Thanks, Amy! Couldn't really figure out the best way to show kids in their bathing suits so enter floating clothes 😂
I don't know how I've lived without our Blackstone !! Love it .Got rid of a bunch of out door cooking stuff !
Oh boy... Don't tempt us!
Tacos is a cute little town! There’s a good Mexican restaurant downtown. We were there when my father-in-law lived there and passed away 1 1/2 years ago. Very nice, but freezing in May! We came unprepared! Love your videos.
I think we stopped into the Mexican place... Is it called Mangoes or something like that. Such a cute town. Thanks for the comment!
So sorry to hear about Maggie💔😢... Still so young to pass away... It will have an impact on the family! I know what it is like loosing a dear pet! I have six(!) dog's, six different characters; six wet noses; twelve ears; twenty-four legs and twelve buckets of water! (the eyes😊). All rescue woofers! I take them everywhere and on holidays as well! I can't imagine life without them... I am kinda hooked on your channel now, keep those videos coming!
Thank you. Her decline happened so quickly. She was a good one. We'll miss her 🥹
Thanks for taking us along. We had a 30' 2005 Mirada motorhome that we sold a few years ago because getting campsites in Michigan at the last minute was nearly impossible. We couldn't plan a year ahead so we sold the motorhome. We had so much fun with it. Thanks again!
It's so stressful trying to book sites here! If you haven't looked lately, they do have a feature now that will notify you via email when a site opens. You still have to act lightning fast to get the site though. Thanks for watching!
Love your videos!
Glad you like them!
Great video, it's really nice seeing a family like yours enjoying a vacation together, especially with kids the ages of yours. In this day and age it's nice to see. Those campers were really nice, and the decals, badges of the campers are cool. Beautiful campsite and awesome pics on the water!
Thanks so much! People always tell you how quickly kids grow up but those years when they're young can be so difficult then you blink and they're off to college. We're enjoying spending time with them as long as they still have time for us ❤️. Thanks for watching!
@@retrorevivals So true enjoy your time!
Thoroughly enjoyed your camping trip, thanks for taking us along!!🥰
Thanks so much!
Really good video guys, look s like so very much fun, and a great place to camp, I have never been to Michigan, I hope to go someday,
You should! Michigan has a lot of unique and beautiful sites to see.
Really Glad you listened to the kids! I enjoyed seeing the sights! Looking forward to the next episode! 🙏
Thanks! We're happy you enjoyed the video!
Glad you had a great trip! Your Cardinal looks like a great camper and the tour of the Holiday Rambler was cool! Thanks for taking the time to video your vacation. We are in IA and have never been to MI so looks like we might have to jump in the motorhome and check it out!
There's seriously so much to see and do here. We joke about Michigamders keeping it a secret but it's actually kind of true 😂 Definitely recommend coming in the summer months or even September when it's still warm but fewer people.
Greatest SUV ever made.
Agreed 💪🏼💪🏼
Really good thank you...great watch 👍😊 watching from Spain btw and loving your channel
Awesome! Thank you!
There are huge deposits of iron that are up in that region of Michigan. There used to be a huge iron mine. That was in that area about a 100 miles away. And that red that is in the sand is because of large deposits of iron.
At 1 point I believe Michigan was one of the second or third largest producers of iron.Ore which was used around the world for core for manufacturing.
Very interesting! The colorful sand was definitely unique.
I don't know if I appreciate you using a fancy camper! Never know what we are going to get from this channel which makes it fun!
Haha, the fancy camper! That's what we should name that one 😂
Hi guys so happy to see a video out today!! Yes totally agree with your kiddos, we are interested in a video about your family camping trip. It lets those of us that haven’t been to Michigan see the state parks there & how y’all camp. So very sorry about the lose of your sweet Maggie❤
We're glad we listened to the kids too ❤️ Thank you for your kind words. Maggie declined pretty rapidly. We're all pretty sad but she was very sick 😢
Check out the Niabrara River in Nebraska. We float in barrels.
Oh dang, we'll have to Google that one!
its not a seagull, its a beach chicken 😂😂😂
Or flying rat, depending on your viewpoint of them 😁
Looks like you all had a great time, it certainly looked a beautiful place and with all the old vans around it was pretty cool too.
Ps our ex teenagers are now in their 30s and we still enjoy torturing them with embarrassment, it just never gets old 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 Embarrassing your kids is a perk of parenting.
Great family video guys. I enjoy watch y’all
Thanks so much 🥳🥳
Your video is bringing back memories of our stay there ! Beautiful area, but where in Michigan is it not beautiful ! Couldn't help but notice the EG Nick's shirt ! I'm from Lapeer !
Yaaaaay, Lapeer! You may see is cruising around the area if you're still local 😁
Yea red green and purple ah that's probably good old oil in the water 😮
Could be but that area is known for a lot of iron ore I think so hopefully just various minerals. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing Loved the video!!!
You are so welcome!
Beautiful video. 👍Tawas Point is very nice. We will be there Aug 4 for a family camp. Hope you enjoyed your stay there. 2 years ago, there was a nasty storm that took the power out for 3 days. Hope your trip is better.😀 We have a blackstone, we like it. But, as you said, if it isn't broke dont fix it. The purpose of a grill is to provide a hot spot to warm your food. Be mindfull of what it takes to keep the blackstone clean. The grill you have its easy to just take the foil off, and you are done. Blackstone it takes water, a scraper, and a spatulla just to clean it. The griddle tools alone are around $40. And the thing weighs around 30 lbs. I am a little old for that.
You may want to check out Harrison Lake state park in Ohio. About 10 miles south of the line straight down 127. Large lots, and quiet. Near Fayette Ohio.
Thanks, Mark! We did enjoy the trip! We had a few adventures but didn't make it to the lumberman's monument but hope to hit it one day maybe on a trip up to Mackinac if we take the scenic route. Thanks for the Blackstone input, we'll have to weigh our options there. We might get more use out of a bigger one at home than camping. We would love to get down to Ohio but possibly would try to hit Hocking Hills. Thanks for continuing to watch our shenanigans.
You need to check out OOP Old Orchard Park in Oscoda (on AuSable River/Foote Dam Pond). Camped there for many summers.
Good to know 😉. Thanks for the suggestion!
Yes! Why WOULDN'T you record the adventure? Thank you for sharing! I don't really know much about Michigan so I find it interesting. It reminds me a lot of western British Columbia where I live.
RIP Maggie. 😭😭😭
You're welcome! We enjoyed the trip. Northern Michigan and around the Great Lakes are some truly beautiful places. Thank you for your sympathies
Oh Maggie, bless her heart!! Hopefully she was able to have a very peace filled transition into her new life.
Those teenagers keeping the parents on the ball with being Tubers. Everybody knows when you're on the Tube, EVERYTHING gets recorded and posted, no matter what it is. Hopefully they've gotten you up to speed on that reality!!
Who knew Michigan had such cool places and parks. All this time I thought it was all about South Haven, Saugatuck, Traverse City and Petosky, all focused, you know... on Lake Michigan!!! Looks kinda like Lake Huron might have a little something to offer as well, mostly vintage trailers apparently, that parents take way too long talking about.
The Blackstone debate...that's a good one. Been back and forth on that one myself. Finally recently settled on a custom size steel from Esty for 50 bucks that fits my grill . Now I have the best of both worlds. Grill when I want one and flattop when I want one. My debate was because I really wanted both, so now it's all in one. For 50 bucks, it seemed like a good compromise. I already had the grill, so it was just a matter of figuring out the flattop. That's when I found the esty shop with a little help from Google.
Thanks for taking us along on the fam trip, and teaching us there's more to Michigan then just Lake Michigan!! Good times!!
Thanks, we miss Maggie. Having teenagers is an interesting experience for sure. We basically have to record non-camper-work videos this summer... we've been staying insanely busy. Funny you mention Lake Michigan and all its fame. We're actually headed home from there now. Took a trip to Holland so you'll get to see a bit of that in an upcoming video. The custom top for the grill sounds like a great option. We might need to look into something like that!
I'm in Tawas about once a week I have a seasonal campsite in Glennie at Alcona park you should check that place out sometime very nice place...also I have 71 holiday vacationer that I stay in up there.
We'll have to check it out. Nice retro camper choice 😉
If it's tubbing....
AU SABLE RIVER or the Riffle River.
I like AU SABLE a little better. Such a great area in Michigan to go.
The Lumbermans Monument isn't too far from there and Largo Springs which are both amazing sights to see, and they are absolutely free!
Yes! We went to the Rifle River. We would have loved to make it to the Lumberman's Monument but just ran out of time on this trip. Hopefully we'll make it there one day!
There were 103 birds... 100 were on top of your camper or in the trees. 😊
Yes!
Rest in peace Maggi 😢
Thank you
They're not seagulls, they're lakegulls
RIP Maggie
Technically they were over the bay,so they're baygulls! Hardyharhar
Thank you 😊
So sorry about Maggy…may the good memories soon outweigh the sorrow. Ps.37:4 🇨🇦
Thank you, she declined pretty rapidly. We're all pretty sad but she was very sick 😢
Everybody needs to put a deer in the freezer that would thin out the population. I love the Dang Nab sticker so funny. Looks like a beautiful area. Too busy for me Way too many people.
It was a busy park but there was a lot of beach area so the beach didn't feel as crowded as some. And yes! on the deer 🦌 It's a big problem. Michigan is loosening some hunting restrictions this year so hopefully that helps. Thanks for watching!
Maybe make lists so you don’t forget things? lol 😂
Right! 😆We've made so many lists and still keep coming up with things to add
i Loved this video fyi
Oh, yaaay, thanks!!!
Wow that campground is packed ... Guess what sleeperdude family is in Michigan at Henry Ford museum and going somewhere else before the kids goes back to school 🏫 happy camper did u buy or rent camper trailer ?
Some sites there are definitely small for sure. The state parks here are pretty much booked solid all summer so we're used to that part. We just saw that the sleeper dude family came to Michigan! We haven't had the chance to watch that video yet but hopefully soon. Can't believe they didn't call us when they were in town 😂 We have owned this camper for a few years, bought it at auction sight unseen but it's been awesome for us! Thanks for watching!
@retrorevivals cool keep camping and stay safe looking forward for more videos
Are you sure you were filling with potable water? Usually the pull down spring loaded ones like that are for flushing lines and not drinking.
Yes, but thanks for looking out for us. The potable were spring loaded too there. Some parks are different but the different options were clearly marked.
Wow isn’t that about 13 hrs from Standish?
Nope. Tawas is only about 40 minutes from Standish 😁
Redo the awning 25:12
We probably will have to. Awnings are so nice to have. Thanks for the comment!
Great video, "fam" camper is nice! Blackstone is nice but the Camp Chef System also seems nice and versatile too. BTW, NO "Flock of Seagulls" references?! So disappointed.....Someone COULD'VE done the hairdo lol?! Oh yeah, y'all r younguns lol!
Thank you! Haha, we're not toooo young... Definitely should have included that reference 😉
😎😎😎💋💋💋
👍🏻😁
Did you see “Big Booty Judy” in your travels? 😊
Hmmm... so I feel like we're missing something here... Is that a butt tree? 😂
@@retrorevivals The Sleeperdude Family station wagon! They were in Michigan recently on vacation..
Oh, 😂😂😂 We watch their stuff but haven't seen their Michigan visit video yet. Hopefully we'll have time to watch soon!
For us the black stone was not worth it.
It seems like people either love then or hate them. Thanks for the comment!
“What Not”? What does that even mean? Your postings should be listed as being about RV’s, camping and bad grammar. LOL!,
What?? Our grammar is the bestest. 😂
You must not be American. Whatnot is a really common phrase and it's not improper grammar. It's in the dictionary lol.
I thought you were saying we're not American 😂 I was like, wait a minute, since when is "whatnot" unAmerican? Lolol
