Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥
Here some information about the band:
LOVEBITES are around since 2016 and their first EP and album came out in 2017. At this point they have already released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of live DVD/Blu-ray releases.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023. It debuted on #4 at iTunes album charts worldwide and #1 at metal charts in 8 countries.
Recently their album „Judgement Day“ was voted #15 in best metal albums of the year 2023 by readers of Metal Hammer UK. Also „Stand and deliver“ was voted on #15 for best metal song of the year. What are fantastic results for a still relatively unknown and foreign band.
LOVEBITES finished touring Japan last October. They will be on a WORLD TOUR this year. First dates are already announced for this summer. They will appear at several festivals. For example they will play on main stage at Hellfest/France, one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe (60k tickets are sold out). Now we are all waiting for more dates to be announced …
I'm a Saffa living in Japan. I've seen them twice live....once in Osaka, and once in Fukuoka. They were absolutely brilliant. One of the best bands I have ever seen live. They are phenomenal.
Btw.....They are Japanese. Its Japan that has an amazing all women rock and metal scene.
I respect a reactor who is honest about a band not playing a genre that they personally prefer, but is still able to recognise elite musician talent.

LOVEBITES. They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans.
They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with heavy metal, symphonic metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, progressive pieces. They mix all with classical music using operatic, A&B and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano and Spanish guitar skills playing. Sometimes they use typical Japanese melodic lines which are included in ENKAs_ melancholy ballads singing by Japanese women. Only their can do it. Asami is from Hokkaido.
Miyako is from Osaka.
Midori is from the Kansai area (Osaka or Kyoto).
Haruna is from Shizuoka.
Fami is from Tokyo.
All of them are Japanese.
Played in cover bands for 35+ years. Not a heavy metal fan but I absolutely love this group. Go figure? Perhaps because LOVEBITES has it all!! From energy, musicianship, stage presence, production etc. etc. Best I have seen in my lifetime for a live performing group.
From Elvis, Beatles, Beach Boys, Stones, Floyd, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, etc. etc. I've seen them all. Eventually, hopefully they will get the recognition they deserve.

You know, I've found that a man needs MULTIPLE playlists to constantly broaden the spectrum of aural discovery. I listened to virtually no heavy metal until I discovered a few Japanese acts within the last two years. Now LOVEBITES has vaulted to the ranks of my ALL-TIME favorite bands in less than a year.
The band members of LOVEBITES are (including their official nicknames)
Asami on vocals (the one and only voice):
Has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer
Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch):
She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, also she is a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, she loves her pets and Star Wars
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, does songwriting for a few songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Best drummer in the universe (IMO), wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3, also the band was Miho‘s idea, she and Haruna were the founding members!
Well, you’ve just witnessed greatness. Thanks for reacting to amazing Lovebites and spreading the word because they deserve more recognition. They are exceptional and skillful musicians. They have influences from the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their unique style. Asami used to sing R&B, soul, jazz before she joined the band. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just almost 7 years. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist. In an interview, Miho (former bassist and founder of the band ) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Some people say that they’re the most melodic heavy metal band in the world. They’re five of a kind. If you’re not into heavy stuff, then I recommend “Empty daydream”, “Edge of the world”, “Epilogue”, “Liar”, “Spellbound”, “Frozen serenade” (all live)
Fil, the Japanese love their Heavy Metal. Well, they love all genres. It is for hard core fans, which I'm not (yet).

agree totally was a big nightwish fan and once i heard lovebites they became my favorite band!!!!!!!!!
I've always enjoyed Nightwish, going back as far as when Tarja was in the band. But they just weren't quite heavy enough for me, so I never bought any of their albums. LOVEBITES on the other hand - they blew me away right from the very first song and every song I heard from them after that. They easily became my favorite band. Within a week of discovering them I bought ALL of their albums.

Every song is special, you could randomly select a song, best life, of course, and LOVEBITES won't disappoint you. They play many different Heavy Metal styles with a certain LOVEBITES sound, they revive the masters of the 80's (and 90's) in a fresh and modern way. LOVEBITES may have the most talented musicians around, all of them S tier. Drummer Haruna is relentless like a metronome, both Miho and Fami master their bass (for Fami's capabilities, you should visit "Alien Alien" from my list, it's in her UA-cam channel will almost 700K subscribers), the dual guitars M&M (for Midori and Miyako) is most certainly the best duo for trading guitar solos and harmonizing, and Asami's voice is stellar with big range, powerful belt and good vibrato. She is also a trained ballerina with exceptional stage presence. One reactor caller her "Stage General", which is perfectly put. Hard, tight, fast, relentless, effortless and clean, that's LOVEBITES. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy your ride!
The Japanese female and female-led music scene is where all the best Metal and Rock of the 21st century is being made. Lovebites, Band-Maid (THE best Hard Rock band on Earth), Nemophila, Babymetal, Asterism, Hanabie...the list goes on and on. I haven't looked west for 8 years.

If you want something a little less heavy from them then one of the 'E' songs (Edge of the World, Empty Daydream , Epilogue), Frozen Serenade, or Swan Song with the Chopin intro might suit your musical tastes better. Their catalogue is top quality throughout.

Lovebites has some more mellow stuff. One favorite of mine is "A frozen serenade" another on "Dancing with the devil".
And actually I heard a nice (and not so often played) gem called "Burden of time" today, played in their rehearsal studio "the Abyss". Pure rock!
If you are down in the Lovebites rabbit hole, then there are three more to react to
* BAND-MAID (heavy rock and prog rock)
* Nemophila (almost anything, but with a touch of metal. Hard and softer originals and (mostly) rock covers.)
* Hanabie (Metal core and prog metal)
One thing. This is often a bit sensitive to some reactors. I did not like your sound quality. I am no reactor, so I do not know how to fix it.
But you should research how to improve it. It is not so fun to listen to sub par quality.

I’ve been a Nightwish fan since 2000 and Lovebites is more of a Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Helloween genre to me, which I loved since the 80s! IMO, Lovebites is the best metal band ever!
Just a suggestion that would improve the experience of your viewers. You have somehow managed to convert the sound of original video from stereo into mono. LOVEBITES is one band that absolutely must be listened to in stereo, especially with the twin lead guitarists. It also tends to also make the sound muffly compared to the original. They are elite musicians, and really deserve to be heard in the sound quality of the original recording.

A great honest reaction. I always feel in music, that you can acknowledge and appreciate talent whether you like the song or not, or the genre or not. There are some who can't seem to do that.
Lovebite are a great band from Japan, drawing on metal inspirations from the late 70's to the early 90's, and sprinkling is classical elements. The are a heavy metal band, blending power/speed/thrash/heavy metal. I don't feel much of a correlation to Nightwish with this, but more to Iron Maiden modernized.
Not sure what your question was about. I believe you know there're 4 of "his" accounts in here ?

@@mmcpa So far, they're posting benign or even so-called "positive" comments, but if you read through some of them, they're just rubbish in terms of info and accuracy. A lot of them are just copied-and-pasted from past comments from the fanbase. I believe we should hold these "accounts" to a much higher standard even though we know who's behind them, otherwise they'll just willy-nilly post anything in the comments sections and get likes for nothing.

The bassist who played this live was Fami.
On 17 August 2021, LOVEBITES took an extended break after the departure of their leader, bassist Miho.
The remaining girls organised an audition for a new bassist from around the world and recruited a new bassist called Fami(Ba).
Fami is a five-string bassist who can dance, sing and play and has 689,000 UA-cam subscribers.

They are not only the best Japanese female band but also rapidly climbing up the ladder to the top of the world of heavy metal. They write lyrics in English, compose, arrange and perform this damn good! Their songs are musically very diverse and we can not allocate one limited category. I would recommend Swan Song with Chopin intro live performance. You will witness very different eye popping talent that you would not need to bring any name for the comparison, Lol.

Reaktor do yourself a favor and check out more of Lovebites. Their talent and stage presence will eventually overwhelm you and you'll become a fan, even if you're still a metal head. Lovebites also play fantastic rock/metal ballads, but they often go even harder (thrash metal) than in this song.

Lovebites has been around since 2016, and the women became more famous worldwide after performing at several major festivals, mainly in Europe, starting in
2018 - Wacken - Open Air in Germany

In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In 2021 the founder Miho left the band for personal reasons and it went into a hiatus which lasted until the end of 2022. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward.

You mentioned she is right up there with Floor, but no one is like Floor. I have a suggestion for you then. Listen to Epica with their world-class singer, Simone Simons. Given your musical taste, I would recommend the song Unleashed. There are several versions, but I think you would most enjoy the version from their Retrospect concert which they performed with a full orchestra and choir. And a quick side note, Floor performed with them at this same concert in a song called Sancta Terra.

Yeah Floor at 6' 1" doing a duet with Asami/vocals at 4' 10" would be a riot !!!!!!!!!!!! Insanely talented musicians and this was their first show in over 2 years on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist (Fami is 21 and is a real phenom). They do everything and LIVE they are a stunning experience much like Nightwish although maybe closer to AC/DC as far as energy is concerned. They play everything from Speed, Power, Rock, Classical piano, Ballet (Asami is a former ballet student), acoustic guitar, keyboards, etc. Check out anything LIVE and the Wolfpack (fanbase) guarantees you will never be disappointed. Frozen Serenade, Swan Song with Chopin piano etude intro, Set the World on Fire, Hammer of Wrath, Shadowmaker, etc...will blow you away. Petite women who wear their femininity proudly and while dressed in heels and gowns turn into Metal Goddesses on stage.
Floor and Asami? hell, imagine being in the room if Tuomas and Miyako collaborated on some classical parts for a song! or imagine Emppu playing EV1 while Midori is playing EV2! And you'd need to reinforce the walls if Haruna and Kai went at it on the skins!

I agree. This one is a bit muddy sound-wise. Check out the Zepp Diver City 2020 performance for a much clearer sound.
The sound quality in this reaction video was vastly inferior to the sound of the original video that the reactor is watching. Click the link in the description for the original video to hear for yourself. This reactor has somehow managed to convert the original stereo into muffly mono, which really surprises me considering the number of subscribers he has.

Comparing Lovebites with Nightwish is fundamentally wrong. Lovebites is a group of virtuoso musicians playing music that sounds like heavy metal, but in fact, in terms of musical richness and diversity, is progressive.
In the early Nightwish, the only professional musician was Tarja, a classically trained singer with two higher musical degrees received in Finland and Germany (the current vocalist Flor does not know the technique of academic vocals and only imitates it). Tarja defined the sound of the band and was its face. The rest of the participants are the level of school amateur performance. They are better at it now, but the keyboards and guitar (remaining from the first line-up) are extremely weak.
Almost all symphonic metal bands, including what Nightwish is currently, are created according to one simple recipe. There are several male musicians, not necessarily good ones, and a female vocalist portraying pseudo-operatic vocals. Plus, an inexperienced and therefore undemanding public is needed, which perceives this kitschy product as a significant work allegedly involved in classical art. Of course, Lovebites is not even close to such crafts.
LOVEBITES is my favourite band in the whole world, and they do actually play music that sounds like heavy metal because it is heavy metal. I'm also going to push back on your opinions regarding Nightwish. Descriptions their musicianship as "school amateur" and "extremely weak" is just ridiculous. Nightwish are VERY good at what they do, and while LOVEBITES fills concert halls, Nightwish fills stadiums, so they must be doing something right. As a composer, Tuomas is a genius, and he's more than competent on the keyboard (although obviously doesn't have the skill that Miyako does - who does?). Emppu is a very capable guitarist (although with less technical ability than either Midori or Miyako). Kai is a very skilled technical drummer, perhaps even better than Haruna, but certainly at least as good. Troy is a highly gifted multi-instrumentalist that adds musical uniqueness to the band.
I think you are selling Nightwish short. They are far more talented than you give them credit for.
@@1970Phoenix I had never heard of Nightwish before 2015. And I only found out about them after I got acquainted with Tarja's solo rock and metal works, which I really liked. Eclectic music, with a pronounced classical background and quotations from classical works. By the way, Tarja's solo releases are similar to the music of Lovebites. And Tarja can be compared to Miyako. Through Tarja, I found out about Nightwish, listened and watched. I even read a book about them. That's why I know enough about Nightwish's history and have seen all of their live performances except for the most recent ones. I think this is the most overrated and mythologized band in existence. To undemanding listeners (teenagers), and they were the main consumers of Nightwish music (which is clearly visible at early concerts), the product of mass culture seems to be an epic work. The singing of the first vocalist Tarja was pompous and pretentious. Anette couldn't provide this, so she was replaced by Floor, who falls short of Tarja in all respects, but nevertheless looks good at live performances. Apart from the female vocals and the new drummer, there is nothing worthy of attention in Nightwish. It is impossible to look at a guitarist without tears. And the keyboard player is shown for no more than a few seconds. Fans of the band consider him an outstanding performer, but no one has ever seen him play. You won't find any more or less sane videos on the Internet where this is visible. And from the book you can find out that from the very beginning Nightwish used phonograms of parts keyboard and even guitars at concerts. Now at concerts there is a powerful orchestral soundtrack, which is made to order by the Philharmonic or symphony orchestra without the participation of Nightwish musicians. Plus Flor's vocals and their new drummer, not bad, but certainly no better than Haruna. And playing drums in Nightwish is not the same as playing drums in Lovebites. The same applies to vocals. I think Floor won't have enough breath to sing Asami's parts. She's in this not a champion at all.
@@1970Phoenix About the "genius" of Tuomas. All the music of the early Nightwish was built around Tarja's vocal parts, which she wrote herself. Tuomas brought her a raw billet with the words - if you have ideas how to do better, you can do it. It's in the book. Must say Tarja was the only person in the group who studied music and had experience performing as a singer. First the College of Music, then the Academy of Music in Finland, then the Graduate School of Music in Germany. The rest were ordinary village boys, graduates of a village small school in the Finnish outskirts. School amateur performance is all their musical baggage. They never studied anywhere else. And until Tarja came to her native village from the Academy for the Christmas holidays, Tuomas and Emppu lived in this village. When Tarja left the band, Nightwish has released only four albums in 18 years. Professional musician and composer Troy Donockley took part in writing music, especially in Imaginaerum. I read somewhere that Tuomas was clinging to him like a tick.)
