  • Taking delivery of our Dragonfly 32 Supreme in May 2014, sailing from Skaerbaek, Denmark, to Stockholm, Sweden. Mostly light winds but lots of sunshine! 600nm over seven days.

    Fabulous - thank you. We don't see enough videos of Dragonflys on the open sea - especially the 32 Supreme. Such a great yacht.

    Hi! The reason that you can't watch on mobile devices is because of the music in the video. I'm thinking about adding some free music instead but I haven't had time for that! I'm glad you like it. We sailed only during day time, we sailed/motored around 85nm per day, which took us between 10-15 hours per day. We had mostly light winds though, which is the reason for the slow progress. //Thomas

      Better idea, dont put music on vids, it only serves to make people click the next vid

    Avg. 85 nm a day = 3.54 kns/hr Definitely a consequence of light winds.

      As mentioned in earlier comment, we only sailed during 10-15 hours per day. When the wind was dropping and we were sailing below 5kn, we turned on the engine.

    nice video, but one thought: if you have a "trailerable Trimaran" delivered by sea, HOW do you place the boat on the trailer when you get to your home yacht club??- as this type of boat normally comes with a custom trailer.

      Although you can trailer a Dragonfly 32, it´s too large for most people to do so. It doesn´t come with a trailer, but one can be ordered from the factory. A boat this size would probably be lifted onto a trailer with a crane.

      it has low draft with the centerboard up. you should be able to motor it onto the trailer on a boat ramp. this is not advertised as a trailerable trimaran tho. sure you can get a wide load permit, but how easy it is to lower/raise the mast is a question.

    does it have watermaker? how did you live with so little water for seven days.

    • @thomaslarsson1625
      @thomaslarsson1625  Рік тому

      It doesn’t have a watermaker. We travelled from the boat yard in Denmark along the Swedish east coast to Stockholm and stayed overnight in marinas, so we could top up the watertank frequently. We could however go for a week without refilling as we also had a tap for seawater, which in the Baltic Sea is fine for washing dishes etc. We sold the boat a few years ago though. Our current boat has a lot bigger water tank (650 litres), which is very convenient!

    Did you sail non-stop in seven days?

    So this boat can handle open ocean without problems?

      rolando figueroa in theory it should, as it is has CE category A. But it’s only a 32ft boat and I would probably think twice before sailing in open ocean and rough seas. Since this video I have sold the boat.

      Thomas Larsson Thomas, where were you sailing? What was your experience overall with the boat? They look a lot of fun to sail, but what about the overall experience with the swing system and seaworthiness?
