I think 'felasha' means in Ethiopia a person that migrates from other place ,that wasn't used as negative way but it refers to the truth because Ethio- Israeleans were come from Israel, that is it..the word felasha was used in a positive way! Where i grew up in Ethiopia,we really love them !! Opinions are different individually, maybe this mama felt the other way but it doesn't mean all of them felt like that because i have still so many Ethiopian Jewish friends that can tell you other positive stories!!

@ZestOrange John, or Johannes Bell as he became known, gave his life in service to Emperor Tewodros who had bestowed on him the rank of liqä mäkwas. It is said that John and the Emperor become such great friends that following John's death, Tewodros took charge of John's family.

@eyobyat yes I an a great great neice. 👍 grenada connection , william.thomas Bell jane sherwood ,I'd love to track their connection back to Africa as I been told I have jamacian from Jane sherwood adopted by a Margaret sherood taken to jamacia as a baby. , there's lots to say , I no a fair bit just not the family from.africa itself , yes so I never married so I carry william thomas his son joesph hugh Bell surname , I I read about the cloak the daughter. German connection etc etc but I'd live to find John's brothers info. As I read about king theodore in history, it's rather interesting to see the river Nile connection and all the history. The slave. I am.very intouch with my opion on where my bloodline come from. So it's mali nogerian too as my aunt had DNA done and she told me

Thank you again Coco, just to add how the dragatory word Felesha come to exist in Ethiopia:
After the Aksum kingdom converted from Judaism to Christianity....the king was allocating እርስት/land, on Saturday. Most Jewish didn't show up on Saterday due to their shabat rest day and they missed their portion of land. And he surprisingly told them, you are with out land/ Felasachihu means became Landless. ...later on after Queen Judit war againist the Aksum Solomonite kingdom, she burnt many Churches and holy books, that dragatory words carried on by Christians....specially after the Arrival of Portugal Soldiers and Cathilic Priests surrounding the Gonder kingdom palace the antisemetism increased.
