An alternative to the Lifan is a 1984-85 ATC125M. You get Honda reliability, it bolts into the ct90, has the hi/lo sub trans with pull/elec start.. if you want a kick, you can order the components from the 110.
So far your video has been the most informative one I've seen. I didn't even think to look on Amazon for the engine, cheaper than ebay. I got a 1967 ct90 for free with a locked up engine and what you've done is my exact plan.
Hey thanks! appreciate that. so tell me, the pre 1970 get more and more odd shaped parts that are not universal and compatible. Has everything worked out with engine swap on this 67? Also what did you do about rear wheel sprocket/gear ?
thanks!
The lifan swap os by far the all around best option
Nice work on the Bike the fit looks well considering all the little Quirks and annoying items i have a 1964 S 90 that was my fathers and he put into inside storage in 1965 luckily the Bike is complete and original minus a engine refresh a Uncle did replacing Rings , Gaskets ,and some other minor things that Uncle at the time was a retired Mechanic and a Engineer and he thought he was going to use the Motorcycle but did not do so he also passed away
cool, that's a nice bike. If you have trouble starting it you'll need updated electrical parts. unfortunately a model that old doesn't have alot of universal parts and it's way more difficult and expensive. If you decide to engine swap i'd suggest buying a nicer engine that t bolt usa sells. maybe spend like 600 on engine. good luck! thanks for watching
I made my own bracket, and everything fits. If you lower the mounting bracket by 30mm, the difference between the Honda and the Lifan, everything fits. The bracket that comes with the mounting plate was never made for the Honda and it causes the engine to be mounted at the wrong angle. The front of the engine needs to be tilted up a bit, there will be a sweet spot where the foot peg will fit, that is where the engine should be. The bracket that comes with the mounting plate is too short.
you should document to internet and youtube, you have my interest.
@@schpoingle I have just made a short video, just now about to upload to YT. Stay tuned.

My first upload in many years, took me a long time to turn on comments, very confusing.
It's a slide show, didn't do video as it was over a long time.
your master link on your drive chain is backwards
Size of front sprocket center ??
Whats the speed look like, thinking of doing this mod
Nice! I had a Trail 90 years and years ago.
people keep saying they had these. were they actually popular in america? or is this coincidence?
@@schpoingle The Honda cub 50 , Trail and sport 90 , 125. Honda sold thousands on the West Coast in the 60's early 70's.
@@thomask6307 interesting. I thought it was only crazy people that liked these little bikes....
@@schpoingle I'm in the PNW. I bought one last summer thinking it was an available alternative to the very popular back ordered Trail 125. I never noticed ct90s when I rode in the 1960s. Now I can't go anywhere without someone commenting about how their father, a friend or a relative once had one when they were kids. The school bus yellow is a hit with the girls, so for all intents and purposes, it's a chick magnet. 😄
Think I have the same engine, going to put it on my 1968 K0 soon, hope yours still runs ;-)
thanks and good luck! I ended up moving to another state and selling bike.
clip is backward on chain
Why did you fit the carburetor backwards [air intake facing forwards]?
most carbs hit the frame so they need a spinner or different intake...or backwards
Bruh I was just thinking my skateboard was too slow 😭🤘
Great for long uphill sections
What’s that popping sound.
lol...ahh...it's the sound of the editing machine. should i never do it again? okay...i tried.
If you turn it up loud enough to hear and understand the narration, the popping noise is really obnoxious… I say lose it.
Omfg🤦 can someone just explain how to wire the lights with no battery iv been asking everywhere and no info at all on it

Nothing against u it's just hard to find good info on these
@@dylanhill4637 did you figure it out?
I did 17/40 with a Piranha 140 swapped CT90
where did you get the 40?
@@schpoingle Tboltusa
good to find out the other chinese engines don't really fit well, only hung up on 1 axle... i wouldn't want this. reason enough for me not to go this route in the future.
one more tip, don't stump so hard on those gearshift levers ;-)
