I was delivery rider and when the motor break down i just swap it with lifan 110 without starter (the most reliable) and with good maintenance it makes 60k miles without any problem then it needs the clutch disk replacement and it makes another 30k miles easy
Great video. Been looking at getting a Lifan for the 4speed box. This backs up my thoughts and was very informative for those that may be a little less Mechanically minded. 👍
I understood everything perfect there excepted the “ stator “ i probs sound really dumb but what is that and what exactly do I need to do with it , i will doing the same to my c90 as your
Yes it will fit infact you can fit a 140 or 160 but after 110 you need at replace most other things like exhaust and carb plus better breaks would be a good idea and you then need to fit a oil cooler so I'd stay at 110
No I don't but just go for the 110cc as all your original bits, carb exhaust etc will fit . Then its just a case of if you want auto or manual clutch. I had auto same as the original
@@Cubrider I think the c50s are 6V, so I'll have to put some sort of resistor in. I don't want to swap the engine cases on either side so I'll probably just move the exhaust lower down. I'm worried a bit though because the wires coming out the 110 engine don't match the ones on the bike, how can I match them up correctly?
Hi I have a shot cub 90 engine, all the parts needed cont to shed loads, how much was your engine I need exactly the same and where did u get it,ain't having much luck finding one, thanks
nice little bike, never had a cub myself, though did have a KH125 as a first bike, bit hairy on dual carriageways (especially in windy Scotland) but it was independence and used little fuel despite having its neck wrung daily
It's about the same as the 90 . About 50 but really happy 40/45. But it's the 4th gear that makes it so much better to ride. Pulls up hills brilliantly now.

Thats the reason I got one.
Great video!! Just what I needed to give me the confidence to crack on!
Thanks for this video. Was helpful so I could guarantee a swap plus possible
Its really easy
Ok. Now the search is on for a Lifan 110cc, semi-auto, electric start.

Yours should be fine. I think it even plugs straight in
Fantastic
Do you know if a 125 engine would fit doing a swap with a c90 ?
Thanks
Dave

I have a 1966, 90 that i have been wanting to do this to, one of these days.
i am looking to get a lifan engine but there is 4 different variants available. do you know exactly what model you have. any help will be great

@@Cubrider did you change the voltage regulator?
Nice video. Would this work for the Honda Chaly 70 engine? Cheers Ross
That i do not know Ross
I have a C70 will I be able to do the same thing you did with the covers and all
I cant see why not.
@@Cubrider Do you remember where you got the motor or have the link
@@harleyman19692 it was just off ebay mate
@@Cubrider Thank you
I'm looking at getting a c50. will the swap just be a simple swap? does the wiring harness need any modification?
If its 12v it should be a straight swap but you will need a bigger carb and exhaust I think

About £280 . Just search lifan 110 on ebay and you can choose which one you want.

What year the c90 passport?

Hi Is this engine still running and is it ok for touring my Cub EG long runs at high RPMs EG Motorways
Yeah its still running like new. Done a few thousand miles on it now and always flat out
@@Cubrider Thanks for your reply
Stay safe
Compatible with 6 volt or do I need to upgrade everything to 12 bolt?
Upgrade
whats the top speed of the 110 engine?

is it worth? I mean is it durable?
100% I would never go back to 3 gears
