All good tips but pros have amazing anticipation/reaction time. They can predict where the ball is going soon as the ball hits the server’s racket! Hence the immediate jump/hop to execute a forehand loop!😅
But still the small steps is crucial for fluid movement and stroke, there is a video of fang bo tutorial where he demonstrates doing the forehand topspin without the small steps, made him look like amateur😅
@@mobiusnnaito2543 😅 I think Xu here demonstrates that as well when he’s out of position but they can still execute high quality shots compared to most of us. I notice he does “trick” shots (in a match) when out of position but it only works 1 out of 10 times against world class players (obviously)😀
许昕大步推到反手位正手拉球,如果被人放回来他只有看戏了。 看上去漂亮, 但这种打法不合理。 Xu Xin strode to the backhand position and pulled the ball forehand. If someone return it back in the vorhand position, he would have no choice but to watch the show. It looks beautiful, but this style of play is unreasonable. We must play reasonable and that is what we really have to lern.
That statement would be true If it weren't for sidespin You'd think pro players would have figured out that by countering xu xin after he pivots, all they would have to do is block down the line. Yet he became world number 1. Because of the sidespin he puts on the ball, it forces the opponent to counter loop cross court back at him. It's incredibly difficult to block such a spinny shot down the line. Sure, sometimes it gets countered down the line, but I'd bet those times Xu didn't do the shot properly.
The student in this video might need to fix her swing; shes got a large backswing, but brakes her arm during contact, and so sometimes it doesnt look like there's much acceleration on it, as a result.
I'm no expert but I can clearly see she's uncoordinated. Like she skipped doing shadows and footwork... and went straight to being coached by one of the greatest that ever played the game?
Xu was literally speaking 同手同腳, which means same hand same foot. I think he meant don’t hit the ball when your is not in the right position, move first (foot)then hit the ball(hand).
thank you internet. i dont speak chinese or know xu xin. but i can now learn from him! :)
This is absolutely golden advice
thank you Xu Xin. thank you for all the wonderful games during your career. i enjoyed watching you.
Key is make a small step make you faster.
Looks easy but when your legs are tired they just don't want to move. I tell myself move but my legs say "NO".
your legs say "Not today"?
That is so true). I get stuck, and it feels like a glue))
Excellent explanation and demonstrating 🙏🙏👍👍🥇🥇

i can't even hop two times my legs are too heavy to hop. there's no way i can do this hopping. i just use my backhand loop.
