- The Punchline is an all-in-one bass rig with amp emulation, Baxandall EQ, and compression that can be placed before or after the amp sim, designed so bass players can simply plug in and play. Available exclusively at Sweetwater.
I know this pedal is a limited run, but please keep it in your lineup
I spent a year and a half research, trying, and finalizing a bass board... NOW you come out with this?! Ugh...
🤣Right?!
I wish you could assign the speaker/amp emulation to the XLR only, plus independent level controls for ¼" and DI.
I guess I'm nitpicking...
That overdriven tone immediately reminded me of Krist Novoselic’s tone from the intros of Lounge Act and Dive. Both songs I probably haven’t heard since the turn of the millennium. Think it’s time for a Nirvava binge!
Dive, great song
damm i love the ascetics of that pedal. it reminds me of legit scientific equipment. also a lil like aircraft/helicopter control panel stuff, love it
Will this pedal give me Carol Kaye superpowers on bass?
😂😂😂😂 sure why not.
@@Mark70609 awesome! I'll buy one right away
Couldn’t hurt.
I know it can't be true, but this seems like a direct response to Janek Gwizdala's search for the best bass DI. He decided on the colorbox and an Ampeg on stage, this is both in one! Would love to see him review it.
Funny how distortion in bass was once frowned upon, and now it’s desirable.
I did build a Craig Anderton’s bass fuzz, it was pretty cool with a fretless bass and the highs switched off.
I've been playing bass for 30 something years, I still like a solid clean tone with a tiny bit of grit. But for modern metal you have to use distortion. Hard part is getting it to cut through.
Ironic as distortion has been a mixing engineer's secret sauce for getting bass to cut through since the 60s.
Freakin! The only Bass pedal you'll ever need!
Indeed, a nice looking little fly rig.
I am not sure if Im supposed to get the punchline, or wait for the punchline.
When will this be released as a plug in? (runs)
Sounds great! Since it has an amp sim, does it also have headphones out?
Love it! When is it out?
Now. Only 1000 made. Sweetwater has them
I wish for a JHS collaboration on a New home studio Rack Mount Unit for drums.
The lemon sold it for me
It makes the bass sound like farts
Hello reader. Are you a fan of make-it-yourself Boboli pizzas? If so, this is a beautiful moment since you and I are connecting via Boboli pizzas.
Whoaa
I want one
I’ve been looking for something like this, but also with an effects loop… and I don’t necessary need a drive channel since I have some dirt pedals. Not sure why EQ/Comp/DI with a loop is so hard to find. (The old Hotone B Station seems to be the closest so far, but the eq is boost only, not cut/boost.)
I’ve been searching for that same “product” for years. I don’t understand how no one is making it.
2 pedal solution would be one of the Two Notes pedals, plus the compressor of your choice. I use the Revolt Bass and I really like it
@@kingOFgEEEks apparently the reborn Carvin makes something like I wanted, but there’s zero reviews and not many videos on it.
@@joermnyc Not bad looking, and affordable. Hopefully some reviews come out soon.
Is there no way to get this in the UK if it's a Sweetwater exlclusive?
2nd riff = AKA banyo queen
Is there an effects loop?
If it had a tuner with mute, it would be everything a bass player needs. Minus a bass.
Is the 1/4 out a trs?
Just crank the mids and treble up all the way
But does this pedal work on bass?
As simple as this pedal is, it fool proofs good tone. JHS simply daisy chained their pedals in an order that you can't go wrong with.
You guys should make some 19” rack effects. Or maybe even 19” rack outboard gear based on your most iconic effects.
what's the voltage draw?
9V DC
@@fretlessman71 no, Draw... mA
@@jbonillaguitar that's current, amps, not voltage
@@saltpeter500 you're right, I found it on sweetwater 175 mA. That's great!
do you put this front in front of a bass amp? I don't really understand what this thing is doing?
Fat bass riffs
I am 98% convinced this pedal actually does nothing. I have yet to hear a demo that makes me think it is worth it.
Why does everyone and their mother pedal maker put drive on bass preamps? No good songs have overdriven bass.
According to your taste. No one is forcing you to use it…
Why is everyone whining always ?
Have you ever listened to isolated bass tracks from the 60s?
😁😁😁😁🤣
Sorry. Rattling the cage a bit. But seriously, low end is already hard enough to keep clear in a PA without distorting the bass and it's hard to find preamps that don't have drive when you don't need it. I'm actually using an acoustic guitar pre for bass. Surprisingly effective EQ.
Are you associated with the IHOPKC???
Mmm pancakes
JHS is now EHX. Think about it.
