Getter Emperor is the fated 'ultimate evolution' of the Getter Robos, possibly born of a fusion of Shin Getter and Getter Dragon (as both mechs are hinted to have played a part in its eventual birth). It is less of a mech and more of a gigantic, planet-destroying eldritch abomination which spread fear and destruction throughout the universe and aliens try to come back in time to stop its birth, but doing so may or may not set into motion the events which will birth it anyway. There's some implied time loop shit in there but we will never entirely know for sure because the author died without leaving notes. Suffice to say, this thing is the spiritual grandfather to the later forms of Gurren Lagann (a series heavily inspired by Getter Robo), but whereas GL invoke a feeling of 'fuck yeah the protag powered up' the Emperor is more 'We're all fucking doomed, this is a being of pure cosmic principles unburden by morality or humanity'.

To those who care for the context on Getter Emperor, it is at the moment the final form of any getter machine with 2 previous getters being said as the form just before it. Those 2 are Shin Getter Robo after it embedded itself in Mars slowly morphing and absorbing the planet or a Getter Robo G cocooned in getter energy which hatched into Shin Getter Robo G I believe (the manga ended in a cliffhanger since the author died). From what multiple media has shown, the Emperor is likely the will of the Getter Rays, cosmic radiation that caused life to evolve who in every universe chooses humanity as its wielder which they use to expand and conquer the universe with Getter Starships supporting the 3 main ships. All enemies of the Getter see it as the enemy of the entire universe and have tried going back in time to destroy any early forms of the Getter to prevent its appearance however any attempts have ended in failure and possibly accelerating its evolution. From an anthology book, the Emperor fought and defeated galaxy sized enemies and its Getter Beam could not only destroy its enemies but hyper accelerate evolution creating multitudes of bipedal species on the planets hit to support it in what seems like an instant. One frightening feature is the ability to recreate any person with a connection to it perfectly so it has nigh infinite man power. Animated appearances from what I’ve seen are only twice and only briefly... also spoilers for them, Getter Robo Armageddon has the main cast use the Shine Spark to destroy a reality tear that would destroy the solar system but as they fly through it they see hundreds of gigantic Getter ships (and the vessel they’re on is the size of an island so these are country to planet size at minimum), within the Emperor Eagle a shadowed person Resembling Ryoma says they were waiting for them. the Old Getter Team decides that the New Getter Team should be sent back while they stay to fight in this dimension of eternal Getter conflict. New Getter Robo now has a far different portrayal where Ryoma in a test run is sent to another world after his Getter overloads or something and it’s a terror beyond anything he could imagine, Getter Robo’s of varying shapes and sizes are everywhere destroying each other to take each other’s parts and the pilots are fused with them where separation means death. Everyone he sees is a person he knew with each one killed before his eyes. Adding to the horror, life is still born in this post apocalypse but it’s twisted, they are born already fused to machinery and likely will grow into more Getters to destroy more and more just to survive. Trying to find what caused all this Ryoma flies towards a giant Getter ever watching the world below with dozens of Getters trying to get to it and most are struck down before the Giant Getter is in sight. Ryoma himself is starting to be integrated into his Getter the closer he gets but he persists only to be horrified that the pilot of the Giant Getter which may very well be the Emperor or something similar (there’s a getter I never understood called Getter Saint Dragon) is himself, the last sight before he is sent back to his world. That wasn’t the end, after the final battle between the Getter Team and the Four Heavenly Kings, the very same Giant Getter appears and grabs the still living remains of the final King, Ryoma decides to fight the Giant Getter by himself and disengages his component from the others leaving them behind to return home. The final shot is him in a New Getter Robo fighting. Yeah the Emperor may be a hope for humanity but it is a cosmic terror that should never come about and I believe that is what the manga was getting at, to survive all the ordeals without creating the Emperor or even relying on the Getter

You got it right on the mark actually. I believe also that when the Getter Machines combine, its power output is on par or beyond the the energy released during the Big Bang. Basically as everyone has been saying in the comments, Eldrich Mecha.
If anyone can't get behind the older art style I recommend watching the first two episodes of the New Getter Robo OVA and then go back to the manga, they're the most faithful adaptation the first few chapters.
Not gonna lie, when you were losing it to the faces in the sword, all I could imagine was you dressed as the Joker, holding the figure emitting thick green smoke in the forest, frantically repeating "KKKKKRAAAZY EMPUROR!" before throwing it into the river and breaking down weeping. Maybe I've been exposed to this weird meme too much of late.
So for anyone who doesn't know Getter Emperor is the ultimate getter, so giant in scale he is bound to absorb the entire universe at some point, it's also seen in the New Getter Robo and Shin Getter Robo animes Though Jobby could have took the time to inform himself before the review since the concept behind it is so interesting but oh well.
The idea is that all getter universes lead to a eventual universal scale war with humanity vs literally everything else. New Getter Robo went in a entirely different direction

Everyone read the getter robo saga, including Jobby pls it's very good and a fun read.
If anyone can't get behind the older art style I recommend watching the first two episodes of the New Getter Robo OVA and then go back to the manga, they're the most faithful adaptation the first few chapters.

In my school vr game, Getter Emperor is a force to be wreckon with as he is the Leader of the Collector's race
So for anyone who doesn't know Getter Emperor is the ultimate getter, so giant in scale he is bound to absorb the entire universe at some point, it's also seen in the New Getter Robo and Shin Getter Robo animes
Though Jobby could have took the time to inform himself before the review since the concept behind it is so interesting but oh well.
