    The seam is actually a seal from the layering process because these are made differently than molded bands like Undersun and Sun Pow. The layering process is supposedly better than molded bands.
    After using both kinds, yes the quality is higher on layered bands, but at the end of days, bands are bands.

    That is interesting my Rogue fitness bands have the dust as well. I've had no issues with it, I figured it is just to help prevent the bands from cracking/wearing as quickly.

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  Рік тому

      Could be. I don't really see a big issue unless you are me and slightly allergic to them. If not, they should be fine unless you don't like that dust/chalk coming off on your hands/clothes.

  • @monkeyb1820

    I'd try cleaning them with a wet, soapy shoprag. More friction might get that dust off of them. I haven't bought much bands lately. I did get tibbarguy 'slant ramps'. Squats on a slantboard or slant ramps are major quad killers.

    I am in the medical field and when the latex gloves have the powder in them they break me out bad. The non powder ones don’t. So I wonder if it is the same type of thing with the bands. Good review on the product!

    The white powder should be talc. Talc makes the bands slide and not stick to each other, especially during manufactur. The latex should all have been melted when making the rubber.

    The dust is normal for these type of bands due to the manufacturing process as is the seam. Also they give a much higher resistance level than Undersun or Sunpow.

  • @veryforest3937
    @veryforest3937 Рік тому +1

    Listening to the cons, it sounds like some of the same issues with the Sunpow bands. I could never use the purple Sunpow because of how difficult it was to stretch it into position. There was no proper transition between the red and purple bands. When I switched to Undersun, I could use every single band without issue, and they all felt more stretchy and responsive when needed.
    From what I understand, the powder on all latex rubber is a natural component of the product itself when exposed to oxygen and humidity. Take a pencil eraser block or anything else rubber and leave it out in the open air for a while. It will become coated in a powdery substance. You can limit the issue by keeping the bands in a plastic bag that reduces the amount of oxygen that the bands are exposed to, but you'll never truly get rid of the powder. That's one reason why I liked the Undersun bands, because they were covered in sort of slick coating that prevented the typical response bands do.

    • @yonallb
      @yonallb Рік тому +1

      You are probably completely right on it being part of the latex, my Rogue fitness latex bands have it as well. GamerBody, you may just have mild latex allergy? The allergy is sort of common. I'm an RN and see it every now and then, definitely not rare.

    Did you have any micro tears when doing overhead presses with the serious steel bands? Im looking for new bands and wonder if undersun or serious steel would be a good choice, because my rouge fitness bands do get micro tears using the same setup as yours.

      if there is tension on the bands, they will stay in place. However, they can fall out once you remove tension, so watch out as they could fall on your feet or break something near the floor. I normally screw them down just enough so they can't fall out of the circles on the end of the bar.

      I've been reading a bit into it. Seems like a manufacturing thing where some have more of that coating than others, even within the same products. Too bad as my skin isn't a fan of it, or my clothes.

    Actually the Clench fitness bands also have the same powder residue on their bands. You are right the Undersun bands do not. One thing I like at looking at the Serious Steel bands is they have shorter bands like 20” and 32” which should give more negative resistance, those have me interested. As for the Undersun bands, I would also like a heavier band than the X Heavy bands, it could be similar to the green band of the clench fitness bands. The clench fitness bands can go super heavy. Otherwise a very good video, like your setup

    The answer is no. You can’t build muscle with bands. For all you band users stop being wimps and lifts weights

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  9 місяців тому +3

      Yes, you can. You are applying resistance against the muscle. As long as that stimulus is great enough and you provide enough nutrition and rest between workouts, you will build muscle. Weights also work, but aren't required.
