I'm with Sergio, for an extra $7 or $10 dollars, the driver is screwed if there is an accident. It's not worth it. A driver buys one car seat and uses it for children of all ages? That alone is a reason to get sued. A wise man once said, making money is not enough, return on risk is what's important. With this policy, Uber is making the money and putting all the risk on the driver. The driver is getting pennies for the risk the driver is accepting. I'll pass. Ask the rider, "Do you have a car seat? No? I'll pass. Thank you." Drive to a safe place. Wait your time. Cancel for no car seat and collect your cancellation fee. Go buy yourself a nice coffee with the cancellation fee. You just avoided a minefield and got a coffee instead.
My car no car seat no ride period. Car seats required here. I'm not providing car seat either different kids require different seats. Non negotiable for me.
My car! I REQUIRER CARSEATS are required 100% . Take care of your children be responsible as a mother I have always had the appropriate seats for my kids. Im on these roads all the time 12000 miles a month in and around Houston and Galveston TX. I SEE THESE ACCIDENTS ALL FREAKING DAY and I will continue to cancel every single ride with a parent not having an appropriate car seat all day long if I have to.Sometimes I have to 5 6 times a week. Also, if you have a stop on your ride, don't think you're gonna get to leave your child in the car with me. No, ma'am, get your d*** child. I am not a child care provider. I am a driver period be responsible!!!
this is what I saw when I googled who is responsible in PA: In Pennsylvania, rideshare drivers are responsible for ensuring that children are properly restrained in a car seat or booster seat: Children under 4: Must be in a federally-approved child passenger restraint system, secured to the vehicle by a seat belt or the vehicle's LATCH system Children 4-8: Must be in a federally-approved child booster seat, secured to the vehicle by a seat belt Children 8-18: Must be in a seat belt Riders are responsible for providing and fitting a suitable car seat if required by law. Some rideshare companies, like Uber and Lyft, may offer car seats for an additional fee in certain cities. Violating Pennsylvania's child passenger protection laws can result in a fine, court costs, and other fees. However, the fine can be dismissed if the violator can show that they have acquired a child passenger restraint system or booster seat. Pennsylvania Car Seat Laws - Stapp Law, LLC Children are more likely to be hurt in a car accident if they aren't in a car seat. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation recommends getting a child's car seat installed or inspected at a station.
Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s safe, and just because you won’t get convicted of the crime of endangering a child in PA doesn’t mean you won’t get sued in civil court if the child gets injured or worse… and if you provide the car seat you’re possibly opening yourself up to liability issues if bad things happen. My driving covers three states, with occasional trips into another three, all with their own laws… ironically just got permanently deactivated by Lyft after cancelling for no car seat and the rider falsely reported me for discrimination and using racial slurs.
If I wouldn't allow my children (when they were that age), or my grandchild to ride in my car without a car seat, then why would I allow an utter stranger to that to their child in my car?
Good point. Know your states laws as well as the the platform you drive for. If I can't be held liable, your stupidity is not my concern. Otherwise, I'm canceling the ride.
I don't understand some parents who don't use car seats or secure car seats correctly. A parent put a child in my car, and it fell over sideways before the trip. Originally, she tried not to use a car seat until I said something. She quickly went back to her home and got one. I keep a copy of car seat laws for my state in a binder for those who object. I also have the unaccompanied minor rules for Uber and Lyft in my binder. In addition, I hand out Uber Teen instructions to unaccompanied minors to give their parents when I cancel the trips. I almost pepper-sprayed this guy who started slamming my door because I refused to take two adults and four children without car seats or enough seat belts in my five-passenger car.
The problem is that when someone makes a claim, Uber asks for footage if any but will not tell you when the incident occured so that you can pull the footage... They claim they can't share the ride details for privacy reasons...
I dont think drivers should be liable for parental comfort issues. I dont weigh and measure the kiddos, but if they are using a bottle, they need to use a car seat. That's for sure. No way I'm letting a mom carry a baby on board. Im sure on the sliding scale of stature, I've unintentionally let things slide. But no soft spot injuries in my car. Geez. Not even if it's legal. That baby will go out a window out of mom's arms in an accident. At least needs a reasonable display of seatbelt wearing or a carseat.
Over the past five days the Lyft app is beeping at me a lot as if I'm speeding, even when I am driving below the speed limit it will beep, if I'm slowing down and it doesn't think that I'm slowing down slowly enough, it will beep at me, is this happening to anyone else? I don't get a lot of Safety complaints from Passengers. Most of my rides are 5 Star rides so Lyft has the app overreact. It's getting very upsetting.
All drivers just need to print out their state laws about car seat requirements and keep a copy in their car. In AZ, the car seat is the responsibility of the parents/guardians of the children. But even AZ has strange exclusions! Don't get a ticket just because the parent says, "I get rides from drivers everyday and nobody tells me I have to have a car seat." "Well... Here's the state law. You can read it for yourself. Most drivers can't afford a $50 ticket. So... The next time you request a driver and you know that driver will take you without a car seat, not only are you putting your driver at risk, YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR CHILDREN AT RISK! Don't do it. Your children's safety is more important." Uber wants to create a "one-size fits all community guidelines," which is socialism. Abide by your United States' individual state laws and share your knowledge with the riders in your community. That's best for everyone. And know your own rights, too!
No car seat no ride. Here and in many states if you are the driver and a child gets hurt or killed you can be held not only monetarily liable criminally liable. Not worth it.
this is a case where Uber is taking advantage of drivers who are unaware of our laws. No seat No ride.. and there is not a second chance, you do not get to go get your seat and give me a bad rating for demanding it, show up with it or get cancelled!
Yeah and then you get in a wrecked while doing Uber car seat rides, the kid gets hurt and the parent sues you for not having it installed properly. The court will side with the parent and Uber won't care that you now have to pay thousands to a parent
Regardless of who's held legally responsible, if a child is injured or killed in my vehicle, I have to live with the fact that I allowed that baby to ride without being properly restrained. No carseat = no ride. Nonnegotiable.
You guys are so full of shit on this issue it's not even funny. If , God forbid, an accident occurs, Driver, parent, insurance ,uber will be sued! DONT lead drivers to think it's OK to drive without a seat! Regardless of what laws say. Don't take ride unless they have a seat. Do you think uber will suddenly do the right thing and reimburse fir purchasing a seat?? When have they reimbursed for damage? Come on guys.. stick to basics
hi chris n sergio how should we find child car seat law in Tx good guidance from your end۔ joe got punish from uber interviewing in you vlog۔ any how if I get this my responce going to be۔۔۔۔ listen 5 weeks back ceo of uber snatch one million dollars cash from my hands۔ first get my money back then give me your details I presume they will never come back to you۔ one time rideshare professor told in his vlog uber is trying to reactivate those drivers who were deactivated in past for small small mistake I presume it will not much atractive
Wall Street is trying to get Derek kesari to open the books so they can see how the Uber drivers are getting paid to the penny and he is being reluctant on doing it because he doesn't want to show Wall Street that he's embezzling the drivers pay to get ahead on the s&p 500 😮😮😮😮
So maybe you guys can make some noise stop that kind of stuff on x Facebook Snapchat you have the right chart professor complaining about him all the time now the investors on Wall Street are asking a lot of questions about how he pays the employees in a breakdown of it and not the version he gives us they want it like boil the books and break it down and he is showing signs of fear reluctance and evasion like your input on one of your shows about this matter

In Virginia up until the age of 8 a child must be in a car seat/booster and the law explicitly says Uber/Lyft are NOT exempt.
Car seat liability to the parents or guardian. What about get pull over by the cops the tickets goes to the drivers
I always get people with kids without car seats. This is good to know. Thank you so much for this video
No car seat, no ride. They must supply a car seat.

I have cussed a Blue streak at driver support about false deactivations and it doesn't help a bit
If I have car seats in my car for unprepared people, where should my prepared people put their luggage on the way to the airport?

Nooooo thx!!! No car seat, no ride!
I still wouldn't allow a child that requires a booster seat, or a car seat to ride in my lyft. And you shouldn't either.

In the voice of Tracy Morgan, "NO NO NO, HELL NO"
Not in Florida.
Florida seat belt statue says the car seat ticket goes to the driver of the vehicle.
Even for taxi and UBER -Lyft

How about, Absolutely not!!!! Why should I care about your kids more than you as parents do?

Won't ever do a ride if a parent can't be responsible enough to bring a car seat
You know mr Sergio
There are some drivers at lax waiting parking lot , doing lots of smoking, which someday the bad thing happens...
Nope. When I drove, almost 7 years In Florida it is law. No car seat, no rides.
No car seat/booster seat no ride from me.
Having pax in share are they ok to bring kids with them?

Don't care if they are "exempt", still ain't risking it
In fact, you can't get a ride with me if you don't have a car seat for your child. I'm protecting the clients and the babies. ❤
