Appreciate your videos! When we retired, bought a new ‘21 Rockwood UltraLite 2898KS 5th wheel (11.6K GVWR) and then ordered ‘21 F350 Lariat SRW LBCC FX4 w/ 7.3L gas, 3:73 diff; camper pkg, etc. Truck is not a daily driver; primary purpose is towing the Rockwood. This rig has worked very well, traveling over varied terrain, including the Rockies; luv the std 48gal fuel tank. We really enjoy the comforts Rockwood provides us to make travel memories! thanks, Papaw B
Purchased a new 2022 2109S, drove from LA to Shipshewana to pick up & back with several states between. Towed with F-250, with upgraded 60 gallon fuel tank. Great to fill up in states with cheaper prices. Pro’s: stable when towing, quality interior, love the 12 volt fridge, overall an accommodating & solid unit. Con’s: had to upgrade matress, drawer guide framing is glued/suspended to underside of counter top which failed (cheap pine split and gave way from weight of drawers with normal contents). Had to realign a few cabinet doors to properly close. They upgraded to slam latches in 2023. Minimal issues and able to correct myself. Your refrigerator door should be reversed to access from kitchen side! Thanks for all your informative posts.
Reminds me of my first 28' camper. It is very similar in layout, but upgraded and updated. I like it and if we had to go smaller again I wouldn't mind it at all!
We had a 2022 Rockwood 2608BS. The fit and finish was very nice. The biggest thing that I didn't like was the depth of the slides. It makes the footprint very wide. Also the slide box in the bedroom was very cold in cooler weather. Not enough outside storage. But it towed like a dream. Great weekend trailer or shorter trips. You did a great and honest review.
I agree about using solid wood for cabinet faces. Solid surface countertops with integrated sinks would be lighter than quartz. And I say ,ditch the second entry for larger closet space and/or adding tv mounting.
We've had a Rockwood Ultralight fifth wheel for the past 5 years and have been very happy with it. We've used it on a seasonal site so it got lots of use (but not a lot of travel miles) and it has held up very well. We decided it was time to downsize, so we just ordered a Flagstaff Classic travel trailer (Rockwood twin). The quality of our Rockwood made the decision to stick with the Rockwood/Flagstaff twins an easy decision. We plan on travelling a lot more with our new rig so I'm hoping the quality also shows up with many miles travelled.
The wife and I own a 2516S it has the same bedroom set up but with a queen bed. We love the bedroom space. But the only problem is finding a decent replacement mattress that would still fit under the wardrobe when the slide is in.
Big brother version of my Rockwood Mini Lite 2516s. They added space but they lost the electric fireplace … it’s a must for spring/fall RVing and for those chilly mornings. Otherwise a possible upgrade for sure.
We have the Flagstaff version of this camper (26SFK). We've been happy with the construction and especially the floorplan. A little more outside storage would be nice, but beyond that there isn't much else I would change or add. We came to this trailer from a Lance 2285. The cabinets in the Flagstaff are not quite up to the level of the Lance, but I think everything else is equal or better (especially the rack and pinion slide vs the Schwintek on the Lance). It's a very solidly built camper. We tow ours with a Ram 2500 Cummins and Andersen WDH.
You should look at the Outdoors RV's up in La Grande Oregon. There Titanium Series in bumper pulls and 5th wheels are really incredible, they have standard accessories on these models that you would see on high end models. There attention to detail on assembly inside and out is very hard to find even from the top end manufacturers.
Hi JD, this is a very nice TT for a couple. If I ever get tired of the size of our 39.5' Montana, this would be worth a look, but for now, the wife says no. I like the interior's neutral tones. Not much counter space, is there at TV in the bedroom? That king bed will be a bear to change sheets and remake as we all get older, due to so little room on the sides. 2nd door in the bedroom is not needed, we had that in our prior TT. Could have used that space for more storage. You didn't show any outside storage? There is a small exterior door near the 'numbers' sticker, but might be a trash chute which is common on Rockwoods We love the big basement storage in our 5th wheel. We RV camp with 3 neighbor couples, and 2 of them recently got new Rockwoods similar to this one, one 2022, one 2024. The 35' 2022 is gorgeous, yet fraught with problems coming out of the covid years, several windows leaking, electrical problems & wallpaper wrinkling due to moisture. It is frequently in the shop for warranty work. The 32' 2024 had a bad refer, bedroom slide was poorly designed and I helped my neighbor reinforce the structure to make it slide better. This neighbor likes to fix everything himself but finally gave in and had the warranty replace the 12V refer. As always, thanks for your work.
We had a Rockwood bunkhouse trailer with full outside kitchen. We sold it and now we wish we didn’t. We can’t find a new one with that kind of layout anymore. It had 2 microwaves 4 tvs 2 fridges and outside full sink .
Thank you for highlighting Rockwood's torsion independent suspension--it's a HUGE product differentiator in my book that often gets overlooked or minimized during reviews, mostly by RV sellers who know that 95% of their travel trailers don't have torsion suspensions, so they don't highlight them too much as the vast majority of their buyers will end up with inferior leaf springs. I also thought Rockwood/Flagstaff moved away from true Azdel composites a year or two back and switched to a competing (generic?) brand instead?
You to inspect the awning as well. Our three yr old awning thread rotted and came apart. Very upsetting after making sure we rolled it up on windy days, and bad weather.
You might have explained further why a front kitchen would be an indicator for needing a 3/4 ton towing vehicle. Also,in the shower there is the water recirculating valve. I think this is a great feature ROCKWOOD uses that I have not found on other units.
Are you the guy that used to be out of Butte MT, Rocky Mountain RV? Just wondering. We are looking at one as our final Travel Trailer. I hate fifth wheels. We are looking at the 2616BH or the Flagstaff 29BHW lite. That has the three slides and a private bunkroom. It's like a fiver space wise but in a less than 30 foot package, one of my key boxes to check. And about the same weights as this one. I do like many things about this level of Rockwood. A few detractions but mostly positives. I have a Ram 2500 and this is WELL within the weight of that with its 3K payload and 15K max tow (Hemi 6.4). Love that truck. You gave some other things to look at in the one we are interested in.
Had a Rockwood TT for a few years before selling it last summer and getting a Tiffin Motorhome. Rockwood units are not real flashy, but they are built very well. We pulled ours across the country a few times and did not have a single issue, would not hesitate to get another
The only thing that I'd really like to see is instead of a bedroom door have a closet space for a stackable washer and dryer. Otherwise a terrific floorplan.
Have they quit using the mismatch plumbing pex to flex? Gutted our 2608sb plumbing to all pex. Other than the plumbing and small repairs it’s a very nice RV.
Had a 8329ss rockwood signature 2019 model Loved it but just did not have enough storage Sold it and purchased a cedar creek 311rl Lot of room not but plagued with problems Wish I had went with a rockwood fifth wheel
I totally agree with you. If they had just gone a bit farther with the budget this would be a great camper. Now?? Not so much. Thank you great CONTENT!!! 👍✌️😎🇺🇸
This one isn't bad. Probably best a couples RV. I would probably lose the bedroom exterior door and maybe change the bathroom layout around. I agree that there's room for some relatively minor, but worthwhile upgrades here and there, but there's nothing that I would consider being a showstopper here. The towing weight should be around 7200-7300 pounds, with about 900 pounds being transferred to the tow vehicle, for a couple and their stuff, a truck with a ~1800 pound payload capacity should be fine. 3/4 ton would be ideal, but there are some half tons out there than could do the job.
Is that wrapped cabinetry in the kitchen considered lumber core? Also, by chance does this model have a queen option so that you can have a nightstand for CPAP machines?
Anything that adds weight is a bad thing. If this trailer had a true composite constructio walls, it would weigh a lot less.True composite construction has no wood or aluminum inside the walls. Most manufactures using azdel are just using it to replace the luan plywood that goes over the wall framework. That is a big plus, but retaining a wooden roof with a fabric type covering just ensures that sooner or later water is going to get in the walls.
You mentioned this model not being 1/2 ton towable at a practical level. We are considering the RW 2618RD. We have a 2024 Ford Expedition LTD - towing 9,200 lbs; tongue 930 lbs. Do you think our vehicle could safely tow that trailer? I hesitate to trust sales people with their assessments.

Great setup. My next Ford will be a large gas. Still nursing my 03’ Excursion with the 6.0 diesel
thanks for not shouting over music :) nice, calm, direct, informative video
I own a Rockwood mini lite 2020 and have literally no issues with it at all absolutely love it
Very good points I hope they listen to you and make the changes even on the mini lites as well.
Love rockwood. They dont get enough credit. Thanks for doing a video of rockwood

I heard that Rockwood signature eliminated the flex tubing with wrong connectors in 2025. I wish you would have checked that out.
We have a 2022 2608 BS and love it, great couples camper. I also agree Rockwood would be a good collaboration with you
💯 Agree with your assessment and changes. That would make this a really nice trailer.
Reminds me of my first 28' camper. It is very similar in layout, but upgraded and updated. I like it and if we had to go smaller again I wouldn't mind it at all!
The toilet location is a deal breaker for me. Thanks for the great video.

I liked it and agreed with your comments. I would add adjustable pantry shelves also.
Very nice unit and I agree with your upgrades
We purchased a Rockwood signature travel trailer because it has a little bit better of interior. Also the signature has a king bed.

Sea sick video. Rockwood is a very interesting company. Thank you for sharing

Have you ever done a review of Outdoors RV Manufacturing? Some of the best trailers/5th wheels on the market.
Love Rockwood/Flagstaff

I'm sorry, maybe I missed it. When did I say the front kitchen related to a 3/ton?

Tiffin is Trash and they don't stand behind their product.
Yes pkease collaborate with them. ABS breaks too. Please please

Rockwood has the best quality and value in the industry.

Definitely need a semi truck - BTBV
no washer dryer hookup
I like it overall. I'm not a fan of the dinette table style.
Lose the window behind the stove. There’s a reason homes don’t have a window over the stove. Unless cooking physics are suspended in this RV.
