Kevin: “…that Star Wars hotel that’s coming to Disney World”
Jenny: “I don’t know that much about that”
I RAN TO THE COMMENTS LMAO
Just about to make the same comment 😂 imagine showing past Jenny the Rolling Stone interview she recently did specifically ABOUT the Star Wars hotel!
Didn't Dr. Nicholson do her thesis on the Star Wars hotel?
@@ElPayasoMalo 😂😂😂😂 it was published in the National Geographic
Oh how little did she know
Hearing Jenny say she doesn’t know anything about the Star Wars hotel feels like ominous forshadowing
she will go from knowing nothing about it, to possibly being the one person who knows most about it
This has aged really well, they've both come so far. Their latest videos are some of the best content on youtube.
Fr they need another long form convo like this, I'd love to see it
Disappointed that she doesn't understand that Nightmare BEFORE Christmas is a film about Halloween... especially when that literally IS the theme of that movie: that Halloween is basically subsumed by the Christmas Season. Shocking mistake!
@@jack-a-lopium nah its a Christmas movie
listening to Jenny Nicholson briefly mention the star wars hotel years before its launch is insane
There’s nothing that could get me to click on a video faster than Jenny Nicholson collabing with Defunctland
lol right? that was my first thought when I saw the video title
Right? He talks about her favorite things.
This is sheer perfection. Incidentally I was the 666th like on your comment yay
Omg yea lol
YES!
I know it's been 2 years but could you bring her back? This is the nerdiest dynamic that I've ever seen and I'm 100% here for it.
Jenny was %100 into naming the cereals of Disneyland. Lol
I can only hope that one day, I find something to be as passionate about as she is about knowing what cereals are served at Disneyland
so funny
Okay: an emperor‘s new groove ride based on the „to the secret lab“ scene
First, the guests are crushed under a large comical rock before being sent on the ride for real.
Wrong lever!
See, THAT would be a good ride. Sudden drop down, dark ride going forward and backward, could be fun!
YES
Jenny sounds completely different when she's talking directly into a mic rather than using her normal camera mic.
@@SuperbLobster No, her voice is lower in other videos when she's not "performing."
@@SamAronow I don't know who to you that but it's not true.
@@SuperbLobster Lmao he's artificially deepening his voice? How embarrassing.
Jenny is a talented voice actor, she has a lot of different voices and many of them may feel completely natural to her. If you skip between her various videos you can hear that she actually speaks in different registers in different videos.
Here she's just speaking in a calmer lower register here than in her own videos.
@@OntarioTrafficMan I adored the voice she used playing the omegaverse author fool in Lindsay Ellis's recent video on that. It was so pleasurable hearing her do a "haughty girl" type of personality, lol. She's too cute.
41:20 I love that, even when she was relatively new on the scene, Jenny was still extolling the virtues of A Tree With A Face™️
This is almost as cool as that time Jenny ended racism
Omar Cardenas Wait... what?
I know! It was an amazing day
The time she said "You can't say the N word that's racist" and then proceeded to get Michelle Obama to get down?
I literally just watched that episode
when was that? before or after she started blocking people on twitter who were calling out racism in the Reylo fandom?
That support beam joke feels like foreshadowing
I had to go back and check the date because....riiiiight?
“Kermit is thiccc.” -Kevin Perjurer, 2018
Defunctland going "wuh-what??" every time Jenny mentions some unknown property with absolute excitement
Jenny: Star Wars hotel? Idk too much about that…
Oh boy Jenny well… In four years you’re going to teach the world all there is to know about Star Wars hotel!
INFINITY WAR IS NOT THE MOST AMBITIOUS CROSSOVER, THIS IS
No
Ambitious?
"I'm about to squander Epcot"
Jenny taking a page right out of Disney's playbook, I see
Shots fired!
no way! my two favourite youtube channels together at last!

When I was a kid at school we had to learn a song called “Christmas in July”
Oregon Trail ride in Frontierland.
So you ride in a big wagon and a wheel breaks and you stop for awhile. While the wheel is getting fixed, you "hunt" for food with light guns or something. It ends with the wagon fording a river, with the wagon teetering over slightly as if it's about to fall over. And someone gets dysentery.
Actual dysentery. It's really just a front to weed out the weak.
@@dizzymelodies6845 Weed out the weak for what =O
I fully support all of this
@@cassuttustshirt4949 For natural selection.
It's not a real Oregon Trail ride unless you can buy your own gravestone in the gift shop and engrave whatever you want on it.
HOLY FUGG I did NOT know that Jenny Nicholson was the one who did all the voices in Friendship is Witchcraft! I've been watching her channel for about a year now and was a HUGE fan of FiW back when it came out, I still rewatch it sometimes, especially the wedding episode, it's funny as hell, and I never made the connection up until now. WOW. I'm a dunce.
Jenny and FiW are basically the best.
I'm in the same boat omg it's wild. I remember being OBSESSED with FIW, and now I'm finding out that it was her? My world is complete lol. And yes, the royal wedding episode is definitely the best aaa
Oh god thank you for telling me
Same here!!
I know I'm replying to a year old comment, but OMG me too. I've only recently gotten into Jenny's stuff and binging her content. When she was talking about it, I had to Google to check it was FiW and mind blown. Still listen to the songs, still rewatch from time to time.
They should plus up the Peanuts lands in the Cedar Fair parks by giving all the adult employees a contract that legally requires them to only communicate through "wah-wah" noises.
You must really want Charles Shultz to roll over in his grave .Actually he already did a complete 360 after the Peanuts movie breaking his one damm rule !
Cedar Park replaced Berenstain Bears for Peanuts, which I would like them bring it back.
LOL the irony now of Jenny saying she doesn’t know that much about the Star Wars Hotel
I’m shook. Two faves. Jenny is a queen.
Ya’ll two are actually my favorite people.
lmao ya’ll
“Y’all two”
y’all two is a real thing people from the south say. does it make sense? not really. is it fun to say? yup
My favourite American contraction I’ve heard apparently exists is “ya’ll’d’ve” as in ‘you all would have’.
E.g. “well, ya’ll’d’ve known where we were going to eat if you’d been listening when I told y’all earlier.” I can’t believe it apparently exists and I love it.
The best part of this is the thumbnail of Jenny in a porg costume. (But seriously, please collab with Jenny more often)
Marina Sweeney if you’ve not seen it, you HAVE to watch Jenny do the porg review. It’s hilarious!
Kevin's faux Avatar sex-ed attraction sounds a hundred times better than the actual Pandora at Animal Kingdom
OMG, two of my faves together!
SAMMEEEE
They matched each other's freak
I can only speak for myself, but...
My sister got me into MLP when I was twelve. I have pretty severe anxiety/depression, but for me, the show was just the kind of comfort and nostalgia I needed to get through my teenage years. It also helped my come to grips with the fact that I am a sensitive guy (a textbook INFP) who likes Disney, musical theatre, and the like. Not that I ever denied it, but still.
It's not my absolute favorite show or anything (A:TLA, Clone Wars, Ducktales 2017, Phineas and Ferb...), but it's special in a way that I can't quite put into words. And it managed to do a lot of good for me. The show ended during my first semester of college. Pretty symbolic, in a way.
Also, I used to watch the heck out of Friendship is Witchcraft. It's been great watching Jenny rise through the ranks. She deserves it.
No lie, my jaw hit the floor when Jenny said Muppet Treasure Island. I want this so bad now.
I was the one who said her top 10 lame things to do at Disneyland video was like a defunctland video in disguise! Now both paths have crossed!! I love it
The thing about Peanuts you don't understand until you're an adult and you see some of those "classic" strips is that this wasn't a funny strip for kids, it was a morose strip for adults who were bitter, joyless, and sad because they had horrible jobs, dreadful memories of World War II, and post-war malaise, looking back on a childhood full of lies. And later on, Snoopy and Woodstock were the least objectionable "innocent" character you could market with, so you saw them everywhere.
Yeah, and snoopy and Woodstock arent even *that* innocent lmao, they're like more chaotic neutral i think
there’s a great cracked (lol) article about how snoopy “ruined” peanuts. it’s clickbaity but does make some good points about the transformation from bleak humor to haha funny dog.
@@megan-mr9vk Love it or hate it, before or after Snoopy, Snoopy and Woodstock definitely facilitated moving the focus to more kid-friendly work - or at least more kid-friendly marketing, toys, TV, etc.
It's the D E E P L O R E
Jenny can literally talk about ANYTHING and I can listen. Literally, i would watch her talk about toe nail clippers for 40 minutes and be totally entertained.
54:02 You're both absolutely right, Ratatouille is incredible.
58:19 This but unironically. Muppet Treasure Island is 11/10
two of my favorite people to listen to talking to each other. i come back to this every so often and it’s always a great listen. can we can an updated episode now that you both have such a crazy following? 😂
this is better than anything i could have ever asked for omg
spy kids 2: tom sawyer’s island of lost dreams
Feat. Steve Buschemi
Putt-Putt and Freddi Fish, but no love for Spy Fox or Pajama Sam? Y'all need to dig deep on your Humongous Entertainment lore.
Seriously though, HE has a really cool story to it. Company was founded by the original designer of maniac mansion, the first ever point and click adventure game, who wanted to keep making light-hearted kid friendly entertainment at a time where video games were getting a particularly bad rap. He ended up setting the standard for edutainment for years to come.
I got really excited over the idea of Spy Fox more than the other guys. I don't know why I like Spy Fox the most. I love all the Humongous Entertainment characters though.
Jimmy Fallon's "revolutionary" queue system is Disney World's old Fast Pass system
you just discovered forbidden knowledge
This podcast distinctly reminds me of some of my favorite youtube pairings. The insane back and forth of absolutely ludicrous ideas between two hilarious people never fails to get me smiling, and this had me giggling the whole way through. The closest comparison I can make is to Monster Factory and Drawfee, which has nothing to do whatsoever with Defunctland. Regardless, top notch podcast.
a draw-free feature on mbmbam would be sick tbh
Jenny: I think he died of pneumonia.
Kevin: as all heroes do
Yes!!! One of the best Defunctland Podcasts thus far!
i know it’s been five years but can u guys do a podcast together like every episode is just you two rambling about theme parks this is the best thing that’s ever happened to the world
jenny must be one of the most endearing people on this planet ... she’s so _soft_ y’know
I think she’s spiky in the best way
@@npsck1802 She's both, somehow
My UA-cam rolled over onto this podcast while I was painting, so I couldn’t change it. I’ve never listened to this before, and I have zero clue who Jenny is, but I’m so glad I couldn’t change it because I had the best afternoon with you guys! 😂
How did I go 5 years without seeing this???
Why would people think it's a joke to say Ratatouille is your favorite Pixar movie? It is legit one of their best, lol. I will fite anyone who thinks that's a joke.
Never heard of Defunctland, but I recently got into watching all of Jenny’s videos and found this wonderful
If you decide to check out Defunctland's videos, you're in for a helluva ride. 🥰🎢
Season 2 had been a trip.
My new attraction would be the "Watcher in The Woods Adventure," at one of the Disney parks.
It's placed between at least two popular attractions, it's not a ride, and it's not advertised... it's just a trail through a wooded area with signs indicating it's an alternate path to the other attraction. BUT there are a lot of side paths, so if anyone wanders off the correct path, they run into a blind-folded girl and a woman made up as a 72 year-old Bette Davis, and the two scare the ever-loving shit out of anyone that loses their way, until they either collapse from the trauma or flee back toward the correct path.
Alternately, there's the "Something Wicked This Way Comes Experience." You can only get in if you're at least 35, and it's just Jonathan Pryce, in a library, wearing his Mr. Dark costume, and ripping pages out of a book while he reminds you that you're getting older and have utterly wasted your life. But the queue does move through a beautiful, if non-functional, carousel.
Warlocke000
This.....is brilliant. I need 200% more Bette Davis in theme parks.
Can we add Baby Jane as a Disney princess?
Incidentally, if you haven't seen The Watcher In The Woods (and Something Wicked, for that matter), it's interesting even solely in the historical sense.
This was back before Disney had the Touchstone label for movies that were too 'mature' to put their name on (Daryl Hannah's not so little and not so clothed mermaid was the inaugural run for Disney's Touchstone). I'm sure a lot of people went to see The Watcher In The Woods with their wee little kids because, "It's Disney, how scary could it be?"
For adults? Not so much. For toddlers expecting Mary Poppins or the like to come out from behind those trees... I'm sure there were a few tears spilled in the popcorn.
@Warlocke000 As a WITW fan and intrigued by SWTWC I want those:) WITW should have the eclipse ritual...
100% here for Halloween [Toon] town 2: Kalabar's Revenge.
Here here!!!
These two have really great chemistry. And it feels like an instant friendship over shared interest.
I almost cried when Jenny bought up Banjo-Kazooie as a cheap to acquire franchise, but she's not wrong.
She also offhandedly bought up Popeye, but that actually already has a ride in Universal Islands of Adventure.
Damn, did she? She's gotta have a lot of cash!
Marvel: Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover even in history
Me:
the only thing I Miss is a youtube friendly numbered list of parks and their revamps
Little does Jenny know the Star Wars hotel will come to haunt her
untapped theme park potential: the magic school bus
YES
I'm way late to this, but: THE HAUNTED ROOM - the haunted mansion but you ride past scenes from Tommy Wiseau's The Room. The seat you ride in is shaped like a football.
Ha hah, what a story Mitchellbowker!
It’s become a running theme that if you want to meet and chat with Jenny for an hour have a podcast about Disney or Star Wars.
I would turn the Peter Pan ride into a treasure planet adventure
what is it like to be a genius holy shit
Fuck yes
How about an entire section dedicated to failed Disney films
OHHHH
32:30 listening after Jenny's Starcruiser video came out and this is just foreboding
The Tom Sawyer to Muppet Treasure Island idea was inspired. A low footprint ride for the island would be a swing ride. Themed "In the rigging", it would mimic the "Sailing for Adventure" sequence in the movie. In the cue, an animatronic Sam the Eagle would caution guests to, "Board safely now, we wouldn't want to get sloppy just because we are on vacation!" the ride could rise up over the island before swinging out to avoid taking up space. As the guests leave they would again hear from Sam, warning them about leaky life boats used on other attractions (an obvious dig at PoC).
Busch Gardens Williamsburg, dark ride or Bristol Renaissance Faire, live performance-- Wishbone as Robin Hood. It's a castle, you move throughout it, it's either an animatronic, a live dog, or literally just the episode where Wishbone is Robin Hood.
Where’s your kickstarter at?
‘Popeye is an easy one to get.’😂😂
A serendipitous drive through Chester, Illinois scratched that itch. To the point of bleeding.
I'm so glad Friendship Is Witchcraft came up in this, it was literally the first time I'd ever heard of Jenny doing a fandub and I checked it out and it's amazing. I had no idea Jenny could sing.
Definitely one of my favorite podcasts so far!!
Hearing them mention The Star Wars Hotel here feels like IRL foreshadowing lol
This is the collaboration of the century, make it happen again
Marvel: Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover of all time
Me:This.
omg when you brought up aliens in the attic i almost screamed bc i was friends with the guys who play the twins in high school, and i’ve literally never heard a person mention it outside of that context
Wait.. Are you saying she did Friendship is Witchcraft? Holy crap I'd always wondered what happened to them! That stuff was great!
Once I got trapped on ET with my grandmother who had to be specially moved out. So we had to stay on even longer. In the weird alien planet scene with the horrible music.
After I finally got off I went into the animal show late and a pigeon at the end flew into the chair next to me. I carried him to the pigeon home.
That realization that it was Jenny that did the FIW videos and apparently I've been a big fan of her for years holy heck?? I didn't realize??
I'm a simple man, I see Putt Putt in a thumbnail and I click.
Ikr
Lol
Hot-ziggity!
Long live humongous entertainment!
I clicked for Paul Blart
32:35 Foreshadowing.
"I don't know much about that"
Oh sweet summer child 😂
I KNEW in the back of my mind that this mentioned at least in passing here
August: Osage County Bear Jamboree. The three hour drama is played out entirely with animatronic bears
I think that Buzz Lightyears' Space Ranger Spin is the Lucky Charms that some kid took all the oat things out and is only Marshmellows
Funny to see Defunctland surpassing Jenny's channel after so long.
he may have surpassed subs but her engagement per video still eats him
@@kobyhooper based on literally nothing, I’d make up a guess that it’s because Jenny’s channel is personality-driven and not topic-driven, so not every Defunctland subscriber would be into every Defunctland video but Jenny Nicholson subscribers will watch a video about anything
This is one of my favorite Disney related videos I've ever found, you guys are hilarious together and this was just so cool to hear.
Thank you both so much for all the passion and work you put into your series. Defunctland means a lot to me, and I found it through Jenny!
Jenny always sounds like she's being sarcastic about something and it's hilarious.
The Cereals of Disneyworld. As someone who does not like theme parks due to sensory issues and is only hear 'cause Jenny, this is very surreal. But very wholesome and amusing and charming. And what I need right now in the midst of disease and violence. Thanks, Algorithmic Overlord!
Invite Jenny more or just give her a show and do a collab with her on her channel i need more of you two, you can reenact Superstar Limo i dont care i need more Kevin and Jenny.
youtube algorithm??? 5 years ago???
Please have Jenny on and play this game again...
In fact, you should livestream the next recording of this, and allow the chat to participate with their own ideas.
Also, thanks for including a solid two minutes of just a MLP screen. Really nice to have on my screen while sitting with family...
i think disney cancelled the pixar newt movie to make the good dinosaur, hoping it would be a success and then they could retheme dinoland usa to the good dinoland usa.
RussianBoss 037 they canceled it because of Rio. Lol
That opening “Welcome to the Defunctland podcast I’m Kevin Perjurer”
Is said with all the power of
“Welcome to blockbuster video, yes we’re open”
And it makes me unbelievably happy.
Holy crap Putt Putt and Freddy the fish!! What about my boy Pajama Sam??
"What's the crossover?"
Nerds. Nerds in their late 20s and early 30s seeking nostalgia. That's the connection.
Also Kevin, thank you for making Defunctland. Your video on the Tomb Raider ride was the first time I got my boyfriend to not think I was crazy for watching videos about theme park attractions.
Replace It's a Small World at Disneyland with an Into the Woods themed dark ride, and get Sondheim to pick which portions if songs to be sung during the ride. And have Russel Crowe sing all the parts.
SaintHaHaLOLZ you figured out how to make me crazy
I've been following both of these channels for years. How is this the FIRST I've seen of this?!
Late to the party, but my IP challenge would be a Neon Genesis Evangelion ride where you just sit in a room on a folding chair and cast members dressed as the characters say "Congratulations!" To you.

Muppet Treasure Island is an underrated masterpiece, thank you for spreading the good word.
As a KC native I can attest that worlds of fun is not a great park
Yes! We totally want season 3 and forever onwards, please!
It's so nice to hear two of my favorite channels just shooting the shit together
Time to watch this again
For SeaWorld I'd do a ride based on The Cove. It starts out as a nice river ride where you're surrounded by beautiful scenery and animatronic dolphins, but then things get dark and scary and you see fishing boats, the water turns red and there are "dead" and "dying" dolphins floating in the water. Live (animatronic) dolphins are being rounded up for the aquarium trade.
Regarding Free Willy: pneumonia is an infection with multiple causes, and it's a pretty common cause of death in captive orca. Not sure about wild but I doubt it's too rare there. Also, he didn't starve, they started feeding him again and they continued to work to try and get him to survive in the wild, but of course he died of pneumonia. Really, I think the whole thing went as well as anyone could have reasonably hoped. Releasing an orca that had been captive for so long had never been attempted before. And what's more, his family pod was never located. With the project, he got human care while also getting to live in the ocean and interact with other orcas. I think he was much better off there than if he had stayed in the tank.
the humungo entertainment logo and sound is absolutely burned into my subconscious im actively jealous jenny forgot their names LOL
Putt putt was amazing! Another good episode, I’ve officially watched all of the podcasts now can’t wait for the next one!
To cover the "carebros" mention, there is actually a small community of care bear collectors and people who make care bear fanart and carebear sonas!
Of course we're no where near the size of the my little pony fandom, but with the new reboot I expect we will rise in numbers :D
