These were used as taxis in Hong Kong back in the early '80s. Red body, silver roof and blue vinyl interiors. The manual gear change knob on the steering column was always customised - most replaced with flowers cast in epoxy... it's funny the things you remember as a kid. Muy guapo!
Absolutely stunning, wow, always loved these stunning big Datsun sedans. We never got diesels here in the Caribbean in the mid 70s. This one looks amazing, & spectacular. Nice short video review, gorgeous interior, on my Nostalgia bucket list for 2024
I consider it damn unforgivable that the Nissan Cedric was never offered here in the USA, not even as a Datsun. I'd buy a 220C Diesel if it were available here in the USA. I find the 1970s Datsuns more attractive than later models.
@@marz_mitzi That's awesome! I don't know why they were never sold here in the States. We got the Bluebird, we got the Sunny, we got the Violet, we got the Fairlady, and we got Datsun trucks. But for some reason, we never got the Cedric.
With the 4-speed gearbox it could do about 120km/h. With the 5-speed it could do about 140 and was a much better experience overall. My dad had both. The engines were neither powerful nor reliable. But they had a certain charm and comfortable as well.
