Thanks for your video. We tried using this kit a few months back and couldnt get the blood to come out using the vacuum tube. We did use the vacuum tube again but this time we searched for the vertebra in the tail and it worked flawlessly. Come to find out she is pregnant. We put the bull in with 4 females at the same time, two of which calved at the beginning of Sept. The other two werent shlwing any sign. We urine tested one which came back negative and this test came back positive on another cow.
You told me what I wanted to know. I dont have vacuum tubes and I am used to pulling blood with a syringe. I didnt know if I could do that with this test or not but you do. I just got some tests and have a heifer I want to check. Thank you.
I think sometimes when we feel we are incapable of doing things it's more about lack of knowledge. You are researching and watching other people, gaining knowledge ..... and then you start. You can do this!!!
Oh my goodness! Was so excited for this info. Thanks for sharing what most won’t! 👏🏼👏🏼 Thanks for attaching link for test. Was hoping to order the tests, which I have not been successful in finding here in U.S., then realized, we can’t order this test either. Only available for Canada. Making it pretty hard for us to treat our livestock here in the states. Blessings for all your info Kate! ❤
I just found out about these tests not long ago. Wish I would of known last year. My jersey was hiding her heats and we waited all the way to her due date. Newbie to cattle breeding mistake. So we just AId her in January on the 28th think she missed again because we saw heat signs we test as soon as we get tests. But we just tested my hereford who also was bred and shes open unfortunately
We've been in similar situations so I understand how it can be a bit defeating. I love how we can all easily share and learn from each other. I feel fortunate to be surrounding by cow people!
I like your new set up!! That is awesome. I just finished my homemade stanchion using a wood head gate and panel sides. My cow went in better this morning. Day two and the calf stayed put in her stall..while I lived on her momma trying to get her used to the stanchion. I will take any tips for trailing. 👍😊
Thanks a great video, I have heard people have hard time with the vac tubes, using the needle eliminates that. What size of syringe and needle do you recommend. Thanks again.
I'm assuming the needles don't come with the test kit, where do you get your needles? In fact where do you get most of your cow med supplies? I'm not sure how to acquire those things if you're not a vet.
This was very educational! It's awesome that Mac already knows so much about this!😊
It really is! Thanks for joining us here!

Google it and you’ll find retailers in the states
@@VenisonforDinner you were right! Just ordered! 😜 Thank you!
I have never had any luck with AI and my jersey. I've always had to find a bull. Thanks for video!
I get to do this myself in 10 days for the first time, thanks for sharing!!
Good luck!!

Hi! Do you know where vacutainers and the needles for them can be purchased in Canada?
You can try The Farmers Depot. It's where I get my Alertys products.
That’s where I get everything as well but I can’t find those. Thanks anyway!
This couldn’t have come At a better time!! Love your videos :)
Awesome!! Thanks for joining us here.

That sounds like you are doing a wonderful job of transitioning your cow and calf!!

You're welcome!
Please tell me where I can buy these test thank you
I bought from farmers depot canada. ( so sorry for the delayed response....it got lost in the new baby haze)
Information I don't really need, however I did enjoy. ❤
Thanks for watching!
You made that look so easy!! 😂❤ thanks for sharing!!
Well it's not always that easy and sometimes it's just practice. Thanks for watching!
@VenisonforDinner have you tried the urine test before and if so, did you find them accurate?
I love Mac snuggling the chick in the background. 🥰😂
We have 3 - 5 milking
We have the vet come and do dog rabies at same time
Lutalyse
It cost us $300 just for the vet to step foot on our property
Ummmm I just came across your video and I have a cow with the same breeding and same name who looks identical to your olive ! Too funny!
No way. That's crazy!
I'm assuming the needles don't come with the test kit, where do you get your needles? In fact where do you get most of your cow med supplies? I'm not sure how to acquire those things if you're not a vet.
All of the supplies can be bought at the same website or I can get them all at the feed store other than the pregnancy test
@@VenisonforDinner Thank you!
