I wouldn't go that far. Best sounding AMG is the V12 that was used in the older s class models which is very close to the engines they built for the Pagani Zonda. And while turbo will never sound as great as NA they still sound great and are no where near as much of the mosquito gas guzzlers that NA engines are ;)
The AMG 6.2L V8 would likely be forever one of the best sounding non-American big displacement V8 ever. Ferrari NA V8 are smaller displacement & usually higher pitched which resembles F1 engines of the distant past, but the AMG V8 could be mistaken for being American but instead had DOHC instead of OHV.
The mercedes amg NA V8 has a cleaner, deeper, crispier roar. It sounds great. The E92 M3 V8 sounds hum and smooth. It sounded exotic and you know? I can't decide LOL.
Ferrari Dave Car Reviews I'm going to have to start reading his articles on autotrader, a lot of people have said he puts in the same amount of detail in his writing that he does in his videos.
My dad used to be quality control at Mercedes and I remember when he brought this home and was in red and yes it was a black series. Probably the coolest fucking amg I've ever been in and seen
If the build sheet engine serial code is less than 60,658 then it could prone to engine bolts failure. Make you call the dealership if you planning to buy any C63 AMG 2011 or older.
The power seats variation has to do with options. Mercedes cars have three types of seat controls: manual, semi-powered and finally fully powered with memory. The semi-powered seats have the control buttons for tilting the seat on the side of the seat, while the manual lever to push the seat front and back is under the front side of the seat. This way all the controls for the seat are close to each other. And they save up on cables and nice panels to put it all the way on the door. The fully powered seats with memory have their controls on the door, easy to see and use. So all that told, what Mercedes did in this 130.000 dollar car is putting a luxury seat left and a cheaper seat right to save production that would cost them around the value of a ham sandwich.
A couple other quirks you didn't mention: When you put the traction control in "sport" mode, and put the car in S+ mode, you can perform launch control. You keep your foot on the brake, then turn the mode selector knob all the way to the right past "M", as if you're turning up the music really loud. This won't change the mode to "M" but rather display on the dash a prompt to use launch control. Pull right paddle for yes, left paddle for no. Then launch control as you normally would. Unlike more robust system's like Porsche's though, you only have 7 seconds, or it will auto-cancel. Another thing is that if you turn the traction control fully off by holding the traction control button, it isn't actually "OFF". The car will still butt in by cutting power to the engine if it thinks you're in really deepshit. Some people, learn this the hard way. Let's say you're at an intersection where you have a stop sign, but cross traffic does not. You see a car coming your direction and you wonder if you can make it across before they get to the intersection. You think to yourself, yeah probably not, and decide to wait but then decide you could actually make it. As you might've imagined, you've killed a couple seconds pondering this so you don't have much time, so what do you do? You mash the throttle. Depending on how hard you floor it, the steering angle, and the road surface that you're gripless tires or on, the car might decide it won't let you floor it and cut power, rather than apply brakes. There is away to fully turn it off though: First you take the key and turn it to ignition position 1. (1 tick) Then hold the Call button on the steering wheel and then within a second hold the "OK" button and keep holding both for 5 seconds. This will take you into the maintenance menu. This is generally just so the technician to reset the service indicator. If you scroll through the menu though, you will find an option for "dynamometer mode" If you turn this on, then start the car as normal, absolute all traction control will be off. Why is this hidden away though, and why do you not want to do it? Because it will also turn off all the other driver aids, including ABS! Also one correction. The passenger side seat isn't "fully" electronically controlled. You can only control the tilt of the seat back and the rear height of the bottom. To move it backwards and forwards, there is a manually lever on the bottom left. You can even confirm this if you pull the lever on the back of the driver vs. the passenger seat. The driver's seat (at least in cars with back seats will automatically move forward. The passenger seat on the other hand will not. The headrest is also manually adjustable, as well as the front height of the seat bottom using the big dial towards the front.
I perfectly understand the grocery bag hook and roof rack mount. I can see someone living in an expensive condo in the city with only one parking spot driving it everyday.
Doug- You should make videos on Saabs! They have some crazy quirks and features and they're some of my favorite cars, you should try to find a Saab 900 SPG pre 1990's, or a Saab 9-3 Viggen which is another one of their sport models. Saabs brought turbocharging to the mainstream and it would be really really cool to see a video on them by you because they have so many cool quirks. Calling it now, the newer Saab 9-3's have the coolest cup holders you'll see in a car. Nightpanel is also not something you'd want to overlook.

Head bolt issue only pertains to 2008 to some 2011 models. These engines are bulletproof even when not replacing the heads bolt on earlier models as it was still a rare failure

I don't know what started this to become such a common thing to mention in the USA but it's pretty much non-existent here. Might however be the weather or maybe the way of driving affecting this idk
That head bolt issues is blown way out of porportion, I've owned and own the m156 engine and know many people that owns the m156 engine and none of us never had that issue, also no one we know ever had that issue. That issue is so rare that it's more of a tall tale that people only hear about but never experienced it personally.

As a C63 owner, that isn’t happening. Rear tires are way too skinny to be putting down a 0-60 that fast. Maybe on drag slicks but motor trend isn’t doing that. I’ve also seen a lot of motor trends videos staged on UA-cam where they intentionally make one slower over the other. And stfu Tela
yaseenshuja1 I own a c63 507 edition which is almost identical to this car and I have hit 3.8 in mine without race start so it is possible for it to go that quick
Doug I think you don't understand the AMG series. It's supposed to be a tuned version of the stock car, not some super sports car. Yes it has power but it's still a tuned version and not it's own model.
alcantara with red stitching on the center of the seats as well as door panels was actually orderable in regular c classes. my C204 C250 got it as well
Assyst stands for “Active Service System” and the yst was just the easiest way to have the pronunciation make sense from what information is available.
I dont get it. It has no power at 0 rpm but it can have torque of course. the pistons trying to rotate the crankshaft produce torque, even if the crankshaft dont rotate and therefore you get no power out of the system. (except from maybe heat.)
Lars St. You're right you don't get it. It's hilarious because no one uses 0 or 50 rpm as a measurement for torque. So both numbers are funny and the fact that he didn't edit it out.
Being a bit of a fan watching your U Tube videos I enjoy them immensely. I have a fairly extensive automotive background that started working at Grand Prix SSR. A Ferrari, Lamborghini and Alpha dealership when back in the early 1980s back when i loved on Long Island. We did a full restoration of 002, the first production unit ever offered to the public. To shorten this note after noticing some of the rare cars that I know that you have reviewed I can not help but wonder why you have never done a review on the 2003 Audi RS6. I am located is the Atlanta suburbs and between me and my friend we have 2. One stock, my friends and one modified to a six speed manual with over 660 hp and 700feet pounds of torque. Both cars are in excellent condition and are both Avus Silver with Black leather interiors. There were less then 1200 of these units imported to the United States and Audi informs me 291 units with this color combination. If there is interest in you doing a review on these amazing high performance sedans please let me know. We would love to offer our cars for your video. Chris Schreiber
Most new Mercedes-Benz vehicles are equipped with ASSYST PLUS, or Active Service System Plus. This system helps Orange County drivers stay up to date with routine repairs and maintenance, allowing them to get the best possible performance from their vehicles.
Wouldn't the coat racks in the back work just as well for front seat driver/passenger as they would for people with back seats? Also, the traction control in my 6 year old Audi works exactly the same way. Push button for Sport, hold down for traction control off.
I always use the coat hanger in the back. There is none in the front, so what else would you use? Also it is a lot more expensive and complicated to get rid of all the details he mentions. The traction control button in my BMW and my Volkswagen also works this way. And in my opinion it makes a lot of sense as you have to know what you are doing if you deactivate it.
4k wouldn't be viable considering hardly anyone has a 4k monitor or TV. 4k is still in its infancy and will be for the next couple years until 4k becomes closer to the norm of having a 1080p.
I just love ur videos.I get to know about cars without eve seeing them in real life.I can argue with ppl facts about cars which they own and they don't even know about it. all this without spending a dollar

its pretty common to make the tiniest sacrifice like that, i've never understood it lol.
sinaay, thank you very much for the explanation! ;-)
It also "helped to save some weight and lower the center of gravity" ... AMG would reply.
Maybe they did it for people who want to take the seat out for weight reduction ?

The passenger seat has controls on the seat for easy removal for track and not having to disconnect controls from the door every track day
Doug is the type of guy to be called ‘Daddy Doug’ by Hoovies Garage
Ben Mayall who’s Hoovie?

"One of those regular AMG schmuks"
Hahaha.. DeMuros car reviews just get funnier every time!😆
TF???????
Easily the funniest thing he’s ever said
You need to review that 800 HP Porsche!!! Now that's wild!
0-60 is 3.6 according to Motor Trend.
U mad bro.^^
Fluterra the CL55 is 3.8
As a C63 owner, that isn’t happening.
Motor Trend tests cars downhill :-)
Doug I think you don't understand the AMG series. It's supposed to be a tuned version of the stock car, not some super sports car. Yes it has power but it's still a tuned version and not it's own model.
radry100 false a normal c class didn’t even have the 6.3 v8 the amg was the only 6.3 v8 in the c class lineup
Matt Rugg true but imagine AMG to be a official tuning company of Mercedes. That’s why they were called Mercedes Benz AMG
Matt Rugg you’re correct except that is a 6.2L v8 NOT a 6.3L. Don’t let the badge fool you
@@martinarbe1 it was, then they got a contract from daimler and so was mercedes amg born.
AbzZTrakT. True, it came all with the 4.0 biturbo engine it’s called Mercedes-AMG
That is the best way to give a presentation of a car! Great job
The new mustangs have crowd control so they wont crash into the crowd.
Dont worry. Owners are finding ways to bypass the nanny state controls and are still managing to crash into crowds.
Cosmin29 i love you for not being ignorant while insulting something
yeah and they wont make false flag events like CV
King of the Desert rofl
Wow innovation
You have to review the 911 Turbo with 800hp 🙊
levin S or a turbo beetle which looks the same though eyes squinted with laughter
My favourite Mercedes of all times and one of the best.🔥🔥🔥
How many times is Doug going to say “this is the craziest AMG”. This has to be at least the 3rd time in the last 4 months.
fantomtuba cuz he keeps finding better ones
Doug the type of guy to call milk "cereal sauce"
alcantara with red stitching on the center of the seats as well as door panels was actually orderable in regular c classes. my C204 C250 got it as well
Doug the type of guy to lower a prostitutes doug score for being too loose.
Now that's funny!
You need to find an S7 and review it.
SpeedingDemon 1738 Yeah he wants us to check his channel and yet that ungrateful fuck has 2k subs
The thunder being heard during the exhaust test was so fitting
The orange indicator light on the front bumper for US spec cars just ruins the front.
Sobanel almost as much as the blood from my neighbor's dog
Favourite C-Class ever.
it's just stunning and you won't lose your money if you buy one :D
Assyst stands for “Active Service System” and the yst was just the easiest way to have the pronunciation make sense from what information is available.
Doug; the type of guy to say a car has torque at 0 rpm...and 50 rpm.
Hilarious! I caught that and thought....Whaaaat?
I dont get it. It has no power at 0 rpm but it can have torque of course. the pistons trying to rotate the crankshaft produce torque, even if the crankshaft dont rotate and therefore you get no power out of the system. (except from maybe heat.)
Lars St. You're right you don't get it. It's hilarious because no one uses 0 or 50 rpm as a measurement for torque. So both numbers are funny and the fact that he didn't edit it out.
Wait! Do Pistons rotate the crankshaft??? :-)
They are connected via the con-rod with the crankshaft. Forcing the pistons to move, rotates the crankshaft.

Doug the type of guy to not start his video with "THIS" and have us all triggered

The other seat is different because it is not fully powered unlike the driver's seat
Most new Mercedes-Benz vehicles are equipped with ASSYST PLUS, or Active Service System Plus. This system helps Orange County drivers stay up to date with routine repairs and maintenance, allowing them to get the best possible performance from their vehicles.
13:55 perfect sound
Wouldn't the coat racks in the back work just as well for front seat driver/passenger as they would for people with back seats?
Also, the traction control in my 6 year old Audi works exactly the same way. Push button for Sport, hold down for traction control off.
I always use the coat hanger in the back. There is none in the front, so what else would you use? Also it is a lot more expensive and complicated to get rid of all the details he mentions.
The traction control button in my BMW and my Volkswagen also works this way. And in my opinion it makes a lot of sense as you have to know what you are doing if you deactivate it.
Doug Sounds soo cute at 9:30
Tire pressure is a separate menu option from Assyst Plus. Assyst Plus is the "smart" maintenance reminder system.

Get a 4K camera already
Victor Rodrigues he uses a new iPhone to record. So technically he already is lol
Well tbh spending money on a 4K camera right now as a youtuber is not all that worth it
@@lukasaey exactly 4k users are still a minority
He edits videos on an apple laptop. It would take a lot more time to render the video in 4k than 1080p
4k wouldn't be viable considering hardly anyone has a 4k monitor or TV. 4k is still in its infancy and will be for the next couple years until 4k becomes closer to the norm of having a 1080p.
The head bolts thing was for pre-2012 models only.
I just love ur videos.I get to know about cars without eve seeing them in real life.I can argue with ppl facts about cars which they own and they don't even know about it. all this without spending a dollar
You must be the life of the party!
Video didn't start with "THIS" :o
Ismail Emre Akcan the Camaro ZL1 Video also didn’t say “this”
