I got lowering springs from eibach, sportline, and keep up with general maintenance on your tires. This is like complaining that your oil gets dark after a couple thousand miles....
Lowered cars have an awesome aggressive look and the lower center of gravity gives better handling but anything more than a 2 inch drop requires more suspension parts than just springs. Camber kits and 1 thing alot of people forget about is the offset on the wheels and tire sizes. Research is the key... other people failed as test rats so you can succeed.
Lowering effects camber regardless! Only fix is to get aftermarket arms or have someone who will align it with the rear tires more heads up if you can get the camber bolts to get that much adjustment.
This isn’t a problem with eibach. The springs don’t dictate the geometry. If the car is lowered. You need to correct the suspension geometry. Also, if you lower the car, with springs, bags, or coilovers, and then add wider tires, and depending on width and offset, yeah, they might rub. Some people are clueless.
It has nothing to do with the Springs, but everything with the alignment. If you can't adjust the toe/camber within spec, this will happen even on coilovers.
I met you when you had your Redeye, it’s crazy that you had a R/T and your as young as me with a Redeye. You really make it seem possible bro, keep doing you
When you get an alignment. They should be telling you whether they were able to get it into spec or not and if not why. You should not have to wear out the inside shoulders again to find out. Ask for a spec sheet which will give you the pre and post adjustment specs. If they say they can't do it, walk away. That's bullshit.
If you buy Eibach lowering springs you should buy an adjustable rear camber kit, so it can allow you to adjust your tires when the car is lowered that way you don’t mess up so tires so fast. I recently bough a Godspeed rear camber kit for my 2016 challenger scatpack and it works perfectly
I usually keep the negative camber in fact I got adjustable front camber arms so I can get even less camber all the way to -4 yes it wears tires fast but the car will handle much better and take corners faster aswell making it feels like a Miata in the twistes
This issue falls under the same issue as horsepower, as the saying goes "speed is only a question of money, how fast do you want to go" I've been into cars since I was 10 now at 59 from my many years of experience I've learned it's an expensive habit we fellow car guys support, there's no shortcuts when it comes to performance.
Good evening Mr. tj392 this is 30Coach6 and Dodge Charger owner...doing some research on some interior work and actually ran across this youtube vid with you lowering/issues...great to see a lot of your generation doing what we did back in the 80s while trying to figure out how not to eat up tires!👍 Anyways, the trick is a lot simpler and effective to the degree of the proper camber kit...I see you've got the Daytona now so you may not be trying to do any type of lowering to your ride anymore BUT, if you are still trying to get the camber to correct on the rear (where Dodge is notorious for making rear bow in)...places like Discount, Firestone, etc. will not specialize in being able to press and get your camber to neutral, they will also ALWAYS go to what factory specs for alignment should be on a vehicle... give a shout and I'll be happy to pass on our tricks of the trade from our mini truck lowering days!
TJ, car looks great man!! R/T Life's problem is more the fact that he runs 315's and his tires stick out. Other people running 315's have a better offset than his and tuck like they are supposed to. In his video he wasn't complaining about camber, he was complaining that when he hits dips at highway speeds his tires rub, and that's because they stick out past the opening. I could be wrong but...
You are right, I have a 2017 Dodge Charger r/t lowered on eibach springs and no problem with car and it’s my daily, I have 275/40/20 back and 245/35/20 front keep in mind I do get wheel alignments often, it could be the tires you went with
Wheel size , tire size all need to be accounted for when lowering. Buy the right camber kit. Coilovers are great especially if they have dampening adjustments to stiffen the ride and you won’t have the problem rt lyfe has
You will have the same problem with coilovers. You need adjustable camber upper control arms. I just ordered a whole new suspension kit from BMR. Talk to Frank Steadman, he is the Mopar guy. You can also check out modernmusclextreme.
Just my 2cents, you can't fix that camber with just camber bolts, you'll need adjustable camber upper control arms in the front they'll give you +/- 2.0° and the rear caster camber bushings with the same specs, look up caster/ camber bushings/ balljoints and adjustable lower balljoints will help also pulling in the bottoms of tires... if you haven't fixed this issue yet good luck, don't punch your subframes tho for adjustable bolts that'll weaken them and you'll be out a ton of money on parts and labor to repair..!!
Were you able to keep your warranty? I'm looking to get this and their sway bars but I've been on the fence given my extended warranty... Pretty sure I'll get 'em soon regardless... 😂
i did sportsline, but it never went that low. not much negative camber, got an alignment but it wasnt that much from factory. maybe go easy on the gas, your tires would last longer. ps. i get the same wear like yours when i had factory set up
I have eibach springs and the shocks and struts I have no problems... if you just have springs with factory shocks ur gonna have dat problem... and r/t life has the wrong offset for those 315s
Anytime you lower any car, it will give it negative camber, coilovers or springs. Its not just eibach. If you want to fix the camber you can buy adjustable camber kits to give it more or less camber. So just keep that in mind brother! Car looks good! Just upgrade some of the other suspension not just springs! Eibach is one of the “better” lowering spring company out there!
Do you have spacer my challenger had them and I took them off with new tires and the ware problem didn’t come back so I trashed them.they were 25mm prospacers
Hey guys I need some help,I have a 2019 charger GT which is the sport v6 and the wheel gap is pretty dramatic on them.the tires are the 245 40 20 I believe. Would I have any problems just getting springs like he does ?
First of all when you install the coil springs did you also install the correct shock strut to go with it because if you use the stock shock and you lower the springs you lost 50% of the shock absorbers value you need to get drop shocks for lower springs in order to make that whole thing work including the guy on the video that said his tires rub when he hits a bump that’s because he has no shock left they sell them on eBay you’re a little bit pricey but I think the number is 2895.84
Plus you see how wide that tire is on rt clip that's apples n oranges with there complaints .I had 2 inches spacers on stock suspension and rubbed the same way on my factory 20"tires 🤦♂️ now its lowered they fit right under it's the 275s trying to get ppl all worked up.🤣
They came out with a specific spring now for the charger they are e10-27-008-02-22 guess that rear tire issue was cause they used the same spring for the chargers as they designed for the challenger.
They did for the scat pack charger I know that for sure. They redesigned the rear shocks in the pro kit and kept the fronts the same . The fronts are the same spring as they use in the sport line
Anything past an inch you're going to have to get camber kit. Inch and a half or more you're going to likely need the entire kit. Sway bar struts etc. The tires wearing out is a rear alignment issue. My nittos did the same thing and that's at stock height. Also those ARE NOT all season tires so that wear is likely coming from the over use. Coilovrr are cool but noisy. And they move. Look for companies that sell the whole thing together. Dude welcome to the world of lowering a car with 4 wheel Independent suspension. Fun ain't it?
There is nothing wrong with Eibach. If you lower the car you will need a camber kit. They tell you that on the website. Especially the lower you go. R/T Life's issue is because of the wider tires and no camber kit. This is what happens when you don't do your research.
mhhhh - I personally didn't realize the Achilles 315's I ordered where actually wider than most 315's on the market. Once a proper sized 315 went in back, everything was fine. @SCATDADDY_392 I will check out your 20 minute video on debadging a charger - I'm sure that's going to be an easy watch 👍
You need to get that toe bolt adjusted correctly. Might need camber arms. Try going to the best alignment shop near you. I had friends running excessive -8 camber with 0 tire issues
I had to get adjustable arms for the front And custom b woody arms for the rear my tires wear out evenly now. With eibach springs I also got pro dampers from eibach This is common to have issues when lowering a car. Just have to be prepared for them
@@lluminatiso4149 I did , had them on about 2 weeks ago, had aligned the same week. And still my right side is a bit off, but since I don't drive a lot probably weekends only. I'm ok for now, but I will definitely need to get adjustable upper control arms to be in the safe side..

I got lowering springs from eibach, sportline, and keep up with general maintenance on your tires. This is like complaining that your oil gets dark after a couple thousand miles....
Lmao true!!!
Nothing like lowering a car and not knowing what happens to the geometry.
I remember my first time lowering a car. Thought I was going to learn something to avoid, but Eibach makes quality parts when used RIGHT
Lowered cars have an awesome aggressive look and the lower center of gravity gives better handling but anything more than a 2 inch drop requires more suspension parts than just springs. Camber kits and 1 thing alot of people forget about is the offset on the wheels and tire sizes. Research is the key... other people failed as test rats so you can succeed.
Mopar makes lowering springs for the Charger & Challenger specifically engineered in-house for proper fitment and no adverse tire wear issues.

Lowering effects camber regardless! Only fix is to get aftermarket arms or have someone who will align it with the rear tires more heads up if you can get the camber bolts to get that much adjustment.
