Bluefin Tuna Charters Ireland

Fishing for Giant Bluefin Tuna with Irish deep sea charter off West Cork in the South of Ireland October 2020. The "Chloe Jay" is one of 22 charter boats on the Irish coast to be granted a licence by the IFI to catch, tag and release Bluefin tuna as part of the 2020 Tuna CHART program.
This season we have Tagged fish from 160lb to 600lb with 300lb to 400lb being average.

Sounds like you got her all dialed in!! What was the vibration with the port engine? During your first run with the 5.9's you had a vibration and couldn't really spin the engines up.

She's sweet as. It was a poor surface on the shaft coupling. I cleaned it up for that season and had both faces machined the following Winter.

Can you keep any Tuna caught in Ireland?

Not bluefin. No Irish quota only a bit of bycatch quota for the Irish trawlers. Everyone else can come here and take them though 🙄
