Great spot , fished it with bait couple months ago . Not as snaggy as you’d think . We had cuckoo wrasse , pollock and ballans . Has to be ling there , maybe even skate 🤔
Ah the craic between brothers no matter if you've been away for a while or not.... The craic n banter is always there..... Makes me smile... Time has no meaning 😊😊
Thank you for the video! Brings up memories of many night fishing expedition on the east coast, in Connecticut. We would snag menhaden, put the less injured ones in a bucket of water, and fished live ones under floats. We would use styrofoam, and wrap the monofilament around it several times. When the fish hit, the foam would disintegrate. One night late, maybe 2am, had a hit that led to fish on. Couldn't stop the thing! Just busted off after 45 seconds. Given the amount of energy involved that might have been a 20 or 30lbs fish, or even larger. Just can't stop those big fish on the first run!
Now then Billy. If I'm not mistaken, that looks like Hungry Hill in the back gound, or there abouts. I'm off to Bere Island in October to see if I can snag a few of those lovely pollock. Tight lines buddy.
That water looks beautiful, and I've never seen a huss that dark before, they tend to be kind of leopard print here in North Wales. I used to do a bit of shore fishing on the river Blackwater for salmon near there but not very close, up the dancing man's house, Lismore? Think we stayed in Ballyduff, beautiful area. 👍
Hi bill you ok pal, enjoyed the vid as the uze cheers. Some cracking surroundings were you were. Look forward to next vid. All the best from the north east GRIMSBY.
I still caught there when its really been to rough to be down there but you have to try .I always wanted to fish it at night but never got to do it .I'm sure it would throw up some proper big congers . I taught both my boys how to rock catch congers there ? They loved it just for the size of the fish there not a wide range of species but still enough twice three times a yr two other lads would come over and fish with me there and loved it saying how much better than beach marks back in England and size of the fish there .there always commenting about it ,👍
Best Pollock I ever had there was 15lb on spinning rod I had house in bantry and fished hundreds of west cork marks but this was by far the best .had some 50 lb plus congers here fishing left hand side of the ledge literally 20 yd out next to the big rock you can see on a calm day plus loads bullhuss and fresh mackerel for bait always here .
@@Billyfishing_watch Its scorching! 40 degrees every day is getting boring! Heading up to Northern Spain for some respite from the heat and, maybe, some fishing 🙂
It's a bit of a snag fest right there, rotten bottoms or not. But great for lures. If I can find some sand in that water it might get more interesting, thanks Brother 👍
Hi from Oregon! I'm a gearhead with 30 rods/reels. I'm looking for best conventional for beach and rock. I'm assuming some form of Diawa. Good vid man, I'm a kayak guy for everything, including ocean.
Hi Steve. In this case I would go for penn! For heavy beach and rock fishing I use a penn Torque x100 international. Or the Penn fathom, 30-40 star drag. Hope this helps, thanks Brother 😁👌
Hi. To tell you the truth I don't know exactly, I just drive around and when I find somewhere that looks good I start fishing. But it's on the east side of the Berra peninsula. Thanks Brother 👍😁
Hi Adam. I don't fish in cork very much, and in general I just drive around until I find a place where I can climb down and fish. This Mark was on the southern side of the Berra peninsula. Thanks Brother 👍
Brother Billy fantastic scenery the ledges you were fishing on looked steep or was that just the camera playing tricks. Ps when you going ragworm digging again? Thanks brother
@@Billyfishing_watch hi brother see you brake it . Its s h.t when it happens mine snap in the same place and it was only 6 months ago it a pain so I had to rush to tackle shop bur some ouch and dark to boat to save the day. @@Billyfishing_watch aye why not haha! I love listening to a bit of home - especially while I'm away on projects. Away in Azerbaijan on an oil rig at the moment
@@Billyfishing_watchjust noticed I never replied to this! You can off some but it’s extremely rare. This one we did and cos it’s the Caspian Sea, we were catching mullet up top and carp down low. They also had Bream like our slimy feckers, but with huge eyes like Whiting. Equatorial Guinea was the one that broke my heart the most, literally miles of Bluefin Tuna, Grouper, Barracuda etc and we couldn’t cast a line. We did see migrating Whales with their littles ones though which was magic
