- After a lot of questions on our Facebook page we are proud to finally answer with this video that discusses what halftones are and how they're made. Enjoy!
AccuRIP is absolutely the best RIP on the market! Ryonet now has now sold over 1000 AccuRIPs and received amazing feedback and reviews on this product! The capabilities of AccuRIP will exceed your RIP expectations as it did ours! AccuRip does not need a dongle, you can use the same serial number for either MAC or PC, and it works with a wide variety of Epson printers (unlike other RIPs).
AccuRIP delivers the most efficient work-flow. It was engineered to meet the unique needs of screen-printers. The other RIP solutions available are higher priced solutions that have been repackaged for the screen-print industry or sold as screen-print solutions even when though they include features that screen-printers do not need such as color management and cutting. These extra features which can amount to as many as several dozen only serve to slow down processing and leave the user with a more complicated interface and more steps to follow. AccuRIP is 21 megs of clean, intelligent code. AccuRIP takes over 10 times LESS SYSTEM SPACE than other solutions that can leave over 300 megs in your system.

I think he speaks too fast and zooms-in too little to see the details and differences

Really cool videos. I like your way to explain and share your stuff. Thanks for doing it !
+MrFred4982 Awesome, thanks for watching! :)
Very helpful. Thanks!
good plan
Great explanation for a newbie. This answered a lot of my questions with halftones.
+Jon Peroutka thank you so much for watching! :)
Not necessarily. I've been using photoshop myself to manually output halftoned dots for 2-3 years for my automatic. I have yet to run into an issue where the screen didn't burn/print properly. It takes some serious fiddling around w/ to get it right, but when you do, you'll be good to go from that point forward! In case you're wondering, I'm using the Epson 1430 to output my films and CS6 to create the art.
if you got to menu and setup you can print a test sheet.
We actually had to print out all of those gradients on the film one at a time, once using Accurip and once not using accurip. So if we provided you with the tech sheet you would need Accurip to try it out. Do you have Accurip yet?
Great explanation! Do you guys happen to have that halftone test sheet available as a PDF download?
We us Epson printers with the Accurip driver.
Thank you, Ryan!
Glad you like the video!! Reach out anytime. 💚
The vacuum in the exposure unit should get to 50lbs or 15 lbs?
Nice Topic..Good Teaching skills... can i have a copy of that graph? tnx..
Hey Ryan, I purchased your accurip software and using the artisan 1430 printer, for some reason my half tone dots are being washed out. I'm using a 305 yellow mesh for 4 color process but can't get past this part of the process. Please Help
can i ask? what if our halftone is 45 LPI.. thats mean we need 180 mass screen?
Nice shirt :D
Can I print with a canon 7855? I’m New to this.
Ahh - no, I'm still doing my halftones manually via Photoshop or GIMP. Once I upgrade to a multi-color press though, I'll probably be investing in a good RIP too.
what kind of printer you use to make halftones, or that question is what kind of printer you use for screenprinting
hi there...any epson printer gonna work with the acurip? for example the T1110 series? thanks a lot with your videos.
Not right now
Could I print halftones on a 156 mesh screen with RyOpaque ink?
+OfficialDRuiz you absoltely can! Thanks for asking! You may need to reduce the ink a bit if it isn't going through the mesh, but it will make the ink much lighter to the touch since it's going through a higher mesh. Let me know if you have any other questions.
How did this workout for you ?! I'm very eager in leveling up my mesh count and I'm concerned I'll buy something less useful than I need.
cold water or warm water when washing out halftone screens
Both will do great, but I would err on the colder side. Pressure is the most important aspect :)
I am from Buffalo. Where do I get that shirt? And A Seahawks fan! I have seen some cool hawks shirts too. Do you sell them?
We don't sell them, sorry. =/
Is it possible to expose halftones with a 500W lamp?
Yes, as long as you have the correct amount of positive contact and dial the correct exposure times in. You'll need to run tests to dial exposure times in and that can take awhile to get desired results. Keep in mind that you'll never get the high quality that you'll get with an actual exposure unit so tread lightly during paid production as this method doesn't offer consistent results. We offer an exposure unit for 16X20 starting at 199. www.screenprinting.com/screen-printing-equipment/exposure-units/aluminum-uv-screen-exposure-unit-16x20.html#.UxeyGaWuJF4
Ryonet But shipping to Portugal is very expensive, and have to pay taxes too :s
So half tone is like shades?
It can be used to imitate a shade by using dot patterns.
Do you think every newbie loves low LPI?
