I couldn't get it to work until I read in the comments that you need to change the picture from `image` to `pixel layer`. Perhaps that needs greater emphasis in the tutorial, or, a PS in your description above.
Great video Olivio thank you. I have a question. What does rasterise do? and why do we need to do it to an image? To add, can we potentially get a tutorial on adding/ editing clothing on someone? Extending a dress, new sleeves etc. Thanks!
@@OlivioSarikas I am an architecture student using the affinity softwares, and I use your tutorials to help me with some of my assignments. I was just asking to use some architectural images as examples for your tutorials in the future.
Hi Olivio, I am new to photo editing. It is a pure hobby to me. One question: what is the difference between layer and mask layer? Where I am supposed to use the former and where the latter? Thx
Hi Manuel, a layer can be many things, like a pixel layer, adjustment layer, mask layer. A mask layer on the other hand is a layer that defines what is visible or hidden (depending on if the mask layer is higher up than the over layers or a child of another layer)
Hello Olivio, I learn a lot of all your tutorials, thank you for that, but can you give me a time what you need, to learn all of the ins and outs of Affinity Photo.
Thanks, but what I don’t understand is why does Affinity Photo need so many masks? Take the Spot Heal on the brick wall, I usually Spot Heal on the Layer because I find masks confusing... I come from Photoshop CS6 to Affinity Photo so there’s a massive jump, also in Photoshop CS6 I never needed Masks so I’m wondering is masks in Affinity Photo just making more layers and more work? After my image is done I merge layers down most of the time. Your wisdom will be appreciated here :)
@@OlivioSarikas Thanks Olivio for sharing your knowledge, since I met Affinity, I did not return to PS, and your tutorials have been the key, I would only ask one thing, if you can subtitle them in Spanish, it would be much more practical and I am sure that will increase your audience exponentially, many successes.👍
Gosh .... your in-depth knowledge of this app is really astounding.
Just started in Affinity, thanks for the tips !

Thanks. Can you use architectural buildings as examples for future tutorials.
I'm not sure what you mean by that

how did you create the mask so that it becomes part of the pixel layer and not a layer above it?
Very Intresting and usefull
Thanks a lot
Great Tutorial Olivio, thank you so much. ʘ‿ʘ greets Manuela

can you attach the actual photos so we can follow along?
why am i erasing the bricks, there is something I am missing. done it several times, step by step
When I change to move tool, it works with the layer not the selection.
your layer probably says (image) instead of (pixel). right-click and rasterize that layer so it becomes a (pixel) layer
👏👏👏👏👏👏
