I made this last night! I was scared cuz it was so far from how I usually make meatloaf, adding sour cream felt weiiiird. This recipe is phenomenal. Best ever. I took my leftovers and diced it up and then mashed it with a potato masher. Added mustard, horseradish and some tomato paste, salt and pepper and turned it into a type of pate. Great on bread with melted cheese, especially with little party pumpernickel slices for the holidays. Thanks for the great recipe. God bless.
A little tip to elevate this recipe is to sear it in the broiler first. When seared first it will allow the glaze to stick to the texture. After you're sauced up, slightly caramelize under broiler. Glaze again then bake until finished. Turns out with a nice glazed crust and juicy inside.
This was the absolute best and juiciest meatloaf recipe. I misplaced this recipe after moving. I am so glad I was able to relocate it. I work on a commercial boat in Alaska. These freeze beautifully. I have even made them into individual mini loaves, meatloaf meatballs, even stretched them out into the length of a bun for easy assembly and plenty seasoned glaze and crunch crust. Looks delicious! I've made a cheddar cheese meatloaf like my mother's, lowfat turkey meatloaf with chicken & wild rice as a base and just experimenting on others. My grandmother made an out of this world meatloaf when I was 12 and I've never been able to replicate it. If we go out to eat and meatloaf is on the menu, that's what I get.

I made this for dinner today. Just substituted the meat for ground turkey. I added some milk, 2 eggs, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, worse word in the world sauce, diced bell peppers (red and green), ketchup, parsley and a few other ingredients. Looks divine! My Mom always used crushed corn flakes instead of bread crumbs as a binder, but I like to use crushed saltine crackers. She made her topping from tomato sauce and brown sugar. I use tomato paste, brown sugar and ketchup. I love a good meatloaf sandwich with the leftovers. Thanks for sharing. I’m going to try your recipe.
I made this (without barbecue coating) and it was a big hit. My husband likes his plain with beef gravy and we like it coated with ketchup. It was terrific. I had a hard time finding the Boursin but think it made a huge difference, that and the sour cream. I will make it with the barbecue sauce next time to see how it turns out.
My family could not stop eating this. I made 2-5lb meatloaf’s. 😂 even day two they said it tasted bomb. I substituted bread crumbs for broken bread(my son loves actual bread in it). I can’t thank you enough. 👍🏾

This looks delicious and I always sauté my veggies first. Love catsup topping with brown sugar and worst word in the world sauce or a bit of soy sauce. One tip that guarantees a moist meatloaf (per Ina G) place a pan of water in the oven while cooking meatloaf. Perfection!

That's a beautiful meatloaf, definitely going to try that. I make mine with all the same stuff except I don't use the BBQ sauce. I use a large can of hunts tomato sauce and I add half of it inside the mixture and the other half on top for the last half hour of cooking it. Makes for a delicious moist meatloaf as well. I just bought a big ass package of ground beef. I was going to make hamburgers and some tacos but F--- that now, After watching this video i'm about to make a meatloaf.
Did this tonight. HUGE hit. Making a 2nd one for sammies tmrw. Only difference is we put it on the smoker for a cpl of hours then glazed and bbq'ed for 40 mins on 300⁰ so so good!
It looks great and the list of ingredients sounds like they make a tasty loaf but I have to comment on your mixing technique. You're not alone, most people do it wrong. First, use a cookie sheet, not a bowl. Second, break apart the meat(s) by hand into smaller pieces and spread them out, making sure you're blending the two meats. Third, in a separate bowl thoroughly combine all the other ingredients except the breadcrumbs. Then pour the mixture over the meat. Fourth, sprinkle the crumbs over the meat and wet stuff and *then* gently work through to combine. Then chill, form into loaf and bake. Your method means you're mixing the meat at least four times; my method mixes once. And the more you manhandle ground meat the tougher it gets. Thanks for the new meatloaf recipe, I'll be trying it on the family.
I made your meatloaf recipe this week and every one said it was the best they ever had. I didn't have bar b que sauce or brown sugar so I used molasses ketchup mustard and with Worcestershire it was good.

These freeze beautifully. I have even made them into individual mini loaves, meatloaf meatballs, even stretched them out into the length of a bun for easy assembly and plenty seasoned glaze and crunch crust. This is recipe is definitely going in my keeper box.

Matt I am so glad that you actually know how to season food. I see so many cooking videos that have like 2 lbs of meat and they will put 1/4 tsp of salt to season. The food just has to be bland which is criminal.

Looks delicious! I've made a cheddar cheese meatloaf like my mother's, lowfat turkey meatloaf with chicken & wild rice as a base and just experimenting on others. My grandmother made an out of this world meatloaf when I was 12 and I've never been able to replicate it. If we go out to eat and meatloaf is on the menu, that's what I get.
You did not miss with this one. Literally had no meatloaf or sides after this dinner. They loved it.

I made this for dinner today. Just substituted the meat for ground turkey. I added some milk, 2 eggs, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, worse word in the world sauce, diced bell peppers (red and green), ketchup, parsley and a few other ingredients.
Pairing it garlic mashed potatoes and salad 🥗. 😋

Looks divine! My Mom always used crushed corn flakes instead of bread crumbs as a binder, but I like to use crushed saltine crackers. She made her topping from tomato sauce and brown sugar. I use tomato paste, brown sugar and ketchup. I love a good meatloaf sandwich with the leftovers. Thanks for sharing. I’m going to try your recipe.
I made this (without barbecue coating) and it was a big hit. My husband likes his plain with beef gravy and we like it coated with ketchup. It was terrific. I had a hard time finding the Boursin but think it made a huge difference, that and the sour cream. I will make it with the barbecue sauce next time to see how it turns out.
Exactly! This recipe looks delish! learned a long time ago when fixing meatloaf that sautéing the veggies first makes a big difference.
I used this exact recipe with moose meat mixed with pork. The family totally enjoyed it. Looking forward to more of these awesome meals.

This looks delicious and I always sauté my veggies first. Love catsup topping with brown sugar and worst word in the world sauce or a bit of soy sauce. One tip that guarantees a moist meatloaf (per Ina G) place a pan of water in the oven while cooking meatloaf. Perfection!
That Meatloaf looks delicious. Instead of using ketchup I use French or Russian Salad Dressing. Yum Yum. Now I want Meatloaf for dinner.

To make a low carb meatloaf, I like to use finely chopped mushrooms as a substitute for the breadcrumbs. It's awesome!
You can also use ground up pork rinds.

That's a beautiful meatloaf, definitely going to try that. I make mine with all the same stuff except I don't use the BBQ sauce. I use a large can of hunts tomato sauce and I add half of it inside the mixture and the other half on top for the last half hour of cooking it. Makes for a delicious moist meatloaf as well. Did this tonight. HUGE hit. Making a 2nd one for sammies tmrw. Only difference is we put it on the smoker for a cpl of hours then glazed and bbq'ed for 40 mins on 300⁰ so so good!
It looks great and the list of ingredients sounds like they make a tasty loaf but I have to comment on your mixing technique. You're not alone, most people do it wrong.
First, use a cookie sheet, not a bowl.
Second, break apart the meat(s) by hand into smaller pieces and spread them out, making sure you're blending the two meats.
Third, in a separate bowl thoroughly combine all the other ingredients except the breadcrumbs. Then pour the mixture over the meat.
Fourth, sprinkle the crumbs over the meat and wet stuff and *then* gently work through to combine.
Then chill, form into loaf and bake.
Your method means you're mixing the meat at least four times; my method mixes once. And the more you manhandle ground meat the tougher it gets.

I have to agree - - I kind of thought it looked like it was over mixed also. Over mixing compacts the meat too much and makes for a less tender loaf.
I made your meatloaf recipe this week and every one said it was the best they ever had. I didn't have bar b que sauce or brown sugar so I used molasses ketchup mustard and with Worcestershire it was good.
