Cool. Waiting for a next part. It would be great to have a separate video about the adventures of Perring, Egwene, Nynaeve, Elayne at the same time and how Elaida become Amyrlin.
@@michaelmurphy748 I'm not sure what's so bad about Perrin. Nynaeve, on the other hand, I absolutely despised because she acts like a petulant child whenever she doesn't get her way and turns her nose up at Matt for being in the same room as her. Most of the Aie Sedai were annoying arrogant, but Nynaeve was the worst of them. I feel bad for Matt when he goes out of his way to help them, only to be treated like shit as a reward.
@@patrickmcginty3234 Matt still helping even though he was treated like shit is/was probably where I 'started' to turn around for Matt. My dislike of Perrin came from his inner monologs where he was willing to sacrifice the world (literally) to save fieal (spelling bad). I really disliked her character and I really disliked Perrin because everything he accomplished was because the pattern forced him to do it. As a note though, Wheel of Time is in my top 2 favorite series of all time.
@@michaelmurphy748 I dont particularly love Matt, but liked him, he is among the fun ones. While Perrin story is just sooooo boring, I skipped his parts or read them superficial. I ended up HATING IT WITH DEEP PASSION. Nevertheless, I didnt dislike Perrin per se as a Character. I liked him and his personality... I just think his plot did him VERY dirty, he could have done many more interesting stuff but he was stuck with the wolfs and faile's annoyance and not much else. I didnt care about wolfs minion-friends, I didnt care about the evil guy he was chasing and I knew he would eventually kill, I didnt care about Faile (found their love even toxic) and I definitely didnt care about him enjoying his smithing. your covering of the rest of the books is a little unnecessary but the way you explain battles is awesome, it is such a different experience to reading them from a 1st person perspective!
Still funny how Mat's 3rd Wish of "To Return" was granted two-fold. The 1st by returning him to Rhuidan. The 2nd with the Ashandri which allowed him to "Return to" that plane in order to save SPOILER.
Did you know the wheel of time and in real life earth share the same world? The wheel of time happens after the sundering of the world by the male magic users, they find a statue like the state of liberty, a picture of a giraffe in ancient archives there's more but there's are the only two I remember, this would be like when the world of Conan had also ruptured and earthquakes swallowed the civilizations and their ruins only to make way for our own modern earth state.
There are so many little and major references to contemporary modern times. There are references to nuclear war waged by modern leaders as an example. Also time is cyclar so technically the books are also our past, as well as our future.
In the first book, Mat and Rand play “Cock of the North”, a famous Scottish military march while they’re moving from inn to inn to meet up with the group. The song “Jack of the Shadows” also fits perfectly to the tune of Garryowen and is generally accepted by the community as the tune for it.
this series id say is doing the books more justice than that horrendous show like i only managed to get through the first season and like the first 2 episodes of the second so im enjoying this series a bunch
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this channel putting this (VERY SHORT) summary of books 4 and 5. After the horrible (so called) adaptation, this warms my shadowsouled heart.
It’s not in the video but Janduin is killed by Slayer. Rands blood uncle is Luc Mantear who is merged with Isam mandragoran to become slayer. He is a servant of the shadow and Tigraine/Shaiel’s brother. This is how Janduin was killed by someone who looked like his wife.
I have a podcast where i interview people about whatever they're a fan of. I would love to have you on and get to chat with you about Lore, or Fantasy as a genre, or anything you consider yourself a fan of!
IF I am not mistaken and I believe I am not, Rand finds out it was his father who was Aiel before going into the city. When he comes out he gets a lot more detail.
I see you’ve not read the series… Sevanna was not a wise but the widow of Couladin’s brother. She later tries to claim the title of wise one but not accepted by those outside her own clan
I know you get a lot of comments about the pronunciation and it kind of surprises me that you're this far into the documentary and haven't corrected some of them. Did you record all the audio for this at once making it impossible to fix? I listened to the series on audio book and Robert Jordan spent time with the two narrators to make sure they got all the words right so there's lots of references online you could have looked up and used to avoid such an amateur mistake. Hard to watch something and believe you're fans of it when you can't pronounce half the names properly or even remotely close in some cases.
"Robert Jordan spent time with the two narrators to make sure they got all the words right" Clearly not enough. I love the audiobooks and have months of total listening time, but consistent pronunciation (let alone correct pronunciation) certainly isn't their strong suit. In any case, I'd be more worried about (a) the grammatical issues that reveal significant misunderstandings of the subject matter ("Stone of Tears", referring to Cold Rocks Hold as a sept), (b) character issues (Mat supposedly deciding to take command of the proto-Band because they're inexperienced, etc.), (c) story issues (like Mat supposedly suggesting the attack on Caemlyn), or (d) plain and simple factual mistakes (like Lanfear being Selande, Kadere meeting Rand at Cold Rocks, or Sammael being in Illian during the battle of Cairhien). Assuming this isn't just AI-generated scripts, of course.
@@andrewfelsher7872 I get to listen 8 hours a day at work and I went through the whole series in like 3 months and the only time I can think of them changing the pronunciation was with Mogideon. From one book to the next they corrected how they pronounced her name. Beyond that I disagree with your statement and would argue half the time something was pronounced wrong on purpose in a characters accent. @@kristiannicholson5893 I can't remember exact examples off the top of my head, but there are many, many examples of them mispronouncing WoT names/terms. For that matter, there are several normal words they mispronounce at least once.
@@andrewfelsher7872 I remember it and it always sounded to me like accent differences, they were saying the same thing in mostly the same way. Same way an Australian says River in mostly the same way as me. And actually thinking about it what the heck with RJ I couldn't spell 90% of his made up of words based on how they sound.
