This is a kind of incantation and meditation on the theme of the movie. The movie itself is a sweet song of youth, but the wisdom within is to know that man is ultimately good, of the light not the darkness. This is shown explicitly when Lily is tempted and Jack, thinking she has succumbed, is tasked with killing her. Just as he about to let his arrow fly, she shows that she was never corrupted and frees the unicorn instead of killing it. The person who made the music video for "Loved by the Sun" understood this and aligned the incantation with that very scene.
Yes she was and they were both very young but that does not negate the talent that they portrayed their characters excellent. The Tangerine Dream music paired with the movie makes an absolutely stunning make believe that we could all use magic in these more than troubling times almost impossible times we need to bring a smoothie back out of the archives and start watching it I ordered one yesterday

Love Legend, everytime I watch it on bluray which is gorgeous, I always watch both the theatrical and the directors cut on the same day because there both good but if I have too pick one, I'll pick the theatrical version because of tangerine dream music in the film. Love Legend, when my daughter was born I'd played Love By The Sun for her and she loved it.😊👍
At six years old, I remember crushing hard on Jack (Tom Cruise was absolutely beautiful and stunning in this role). I felt a new kind of childhood crush when I saw this movie, a "grown" crush we would say. These two (Jack and Lilly) are Immaculate here, one of my absolute favorite movies of all time Legend (red writing.....) still "takes my breath away" (Tom Cruise can do that lol) 🌹🌹🌹

Tangerine Dream make some of the most haunting and enchanting music for films, the entire soundtrack for Legend was written and completed by them in only 3 weeks. 🙂
I first seen this when I was still a kid and absolutely loved the music throughout. When I was older I bought the VHS and sat down to recapture my childhood a bit… imagine my shock and (severe) disappointment when it was an orchestral score! I knew I hadn’t imagined the music from my younger days, as I could never have imagined such good quality sounds. It was only years later (thanks to the internet) I found out that the UK version has a score by Jerry Goldsmith and the US version has one by Tangerine Dream, which in my opinion fits much better with the theme and style of the movie. If you (or anyone else) could post that version of the movie, I would be eternally grateful
Ok help! What is Jack? A kind of elf? Of inmortal forest's spirit? A kind of peter pan? A Lost child raised in the forest??? A wizard? Bc the unicorns, the dwarfs, the goblins etc all them know him. Who is Jack? Immortal?
All the movie lets us know is that he’s a forest child. I like to think he was an orphan, raised by nature, which explains why he’s so in tune with the forest and knows the language of animals. He also understands the mysteries of the forest and nature, which is evident in how he knows about the unicorns. Yeah… I’ve thought about this LOL
I found out the hard way... after preachin to my wife how beautiful and haunting the music is and it made the movie. a spiritual journey.... only to be let down when directors cut lacked the masterpieces... she said that I disappointed her expectations..I tried to tell her that the tangerine dream soundtrack is beautiful... she refuses to re watch legend now. I forever hate directors cut.

This came from the movie Legend with Tom Cruse and Mia Sarah. It came out in 1982. You can get the soundtrack on Ebay, but I warn you it's quite expensive. But a beautiful soundtrack.

The music appears at the end of "Loved by The Sun" (with the poetry over top), there isn't anything missing from that segment, per say, but many (including myself) wish it were longer. There's a bootleg CD that has an instrumental of Loved by The Sun that plays this bit of music twice as long, which is where this stuff comes from.
