There's a difference between having preference and drawing hard lines. I think preferences are natural and are nothing to be ashamed of. But, everyone has the responsibility to be mature and not irresponsible or rude with their preferences. It can influence it, but unless you want to say that all sexual attraction comes from nurture not nature (which is utterly false), then it’s entirely possible for someone to not be attracted to certain skin colors, etc. For example, someone may not be attracted to those with ginger hair, that does not mean it’s nurture, it could just be nature. And I know from experience, not really that attracted to certain skin colors physically, and I’m not necessarily even attracted that much to my own race, it’s just what it is, nature.

I don’t know why but if you believe in that statement, than you can understand why people find the people within there community attractive. To go deeper, I also think that’s why lot of people find white propel attractive. Due to the vast majority of celebrities in America being either white or aim to appear so. Not to say that there not naturally attractive as well. Like if your a kid, you’re going to be attracted to the kids you see on tv and that’s going to translate in real time. No. Am I saying that it's only people of an entire race and not other races? Also not. But am I saying that it is certain features a race attributes to you that help deem you not attractive to someone? Yeah absolutely. Someone might not like blond hair at all and thus this can help deem some white people not attractive to them at all - and that's fine. I always have been attracted more to femenine looking men, because of how masculinity was portrayed to me by my dad and how I subconsciouslly related it to negative experiences that I had with him. I didn't even realized it, but always had crushes on lots of asian or half asian men just because a lot of times they have really delicate features and it was something I leaned to with out thinking about it. I also found men like Timothy Shalame really attractive too because of femenine facial features. Only last year I started to analyze my preferences and was really surprised.
To clarify things. I never said that I have a "type on asian men" or anything like that and won't date someone because they are asian. I didn't like them because of their race, but because of the way some of them expressed themselves like, style, clothes and make up. My friends were the ones that made me think about it more cause they actually told me about my "preference" and only then I realized it. I hope I didn't say nothing that could offend anyone. Share your opinions about my experience, I would like to know how other people see this kind of situations.

I don’t think there’s something wrong with preferences but it’s tricky because it could be rooted in racism or fetishism. Or ignorance. I’ve had a couple guys tell me they’re not into black women, which I am (black hispanic). One of those guys was black and I was in a relationship with and the other was Korean, someone who I met on a forum and we liked eachother before even seeing eachother or knowing race

Caucasians are a very real ethnic group from Georgia, Armenia, etc. The only reason people use it to mean White is because of a German anthropologist (Blumenbach) who found a Georgian skull and thought it was the most beautiful one. There IS a problem with dating someone because you believe certain racial stereotypes about them (e.g. the submissive Asian woman, the well-endowed hyper-masculine Black man, or the hyper-sexual Black woman), but if you are simply attracted to a certain phenotype, I don't see why that would be inherently problematic. Having a preference is basically saying you have a favorite, most people have a favorite color or food but they still like other colors and other foods. A preference is not supposed to exclude groups, that's called discriminating. We discriminate against things and people for many good and bad reasons in society, but usually when you exclude racial groups from your dating pool or social circle, it's probably based on stereotypes and preconceived notions/attitudes for members of that race, which is why it's a problem.

I feel like I don’t have a preference because I have crushed on or dated all types of people (men, women, NB) of all types of backgrounds and yet somehow tattooed white or latino guys with beards have some sort of special stranglehold on me lmao

When it comes to choosing you intimate partner I think you can be as piky as you want. At the end of the day as long as is two consenting adults who gives a damn. Racism is relevant when working with and dealing with people in the community. Being attracted to someone and choosing who you want to live with is personal choice. If you have to shame someone to like you, you already lost.
