Very nice trim for the FORD Bronco, a customer bought both (Soccer mom defender, Husband Bronco) after the first oil change realized it. So, it's a Ford platform modified by TATA CHERY. I own two real Rovers, 1974 Range and 1985 Defender 90.
You might want to read up on architectures Luis. Defender uses an aluminum monocoque chassis with a magnesium crossbar that's exposed in the cabin. Bronco is body on frame, the speculation is it's from the next generation Ranger.
I’m gonna wait for new Lexus GX, Land cruiser 300 GR sport is good to but not available in usa, but BMW X3 m40i offers so much for 60k$ only it is not for heavy off road but amazing car for 60k$ compare to 120k$ defender, I believe x3 m40i best suv on market for 60k$, Lexus RX is close but less performance
I dont understand the pricing... For similar pricing you can just buy a Range Rover? Pricing wise it makes no sense to me at all. I could see 10-15k over the lesser displaced models, but nearly double??
Maybe people don't want a Range Rover. Maybe they want a Defender. People need to buy what they want. And really, comparably equipped, you're looking at about $17-$20,000 more than the in-line six. These are not inexpensive vehicles.
0:58 for some odd probably-satanic reason, it's TWICE that price tag in the GCC. I don't know how different it is from the US version under the hood, but whatever heat-resistant parts needed for the GCC market just can't be that much more expensive.

Not true. Huge amount of owners of new Defender are using them off road. A lot of accessories available from LR, and aftermarket industry. Some fantastic builds that are used for overlanding, and / or serious off road terrain, via owners all over the globe.
@@StephenFogarty2023 I'm sure those owners exist. And I'm sure they're a tiny minority compared to those for whom a 1/4 mile dirt driveway to a million-dollar house counts as an adventure.
@@eds.4815 What u say, is true for most buyers of any type of 4WD or SUV. However, there is definitely a big proportion of Defender owners, that are regularly using its full capabilities. Your very uninformed and biased comments, show that u make NO effort to get a broad perspective on a matter that u r making incorrect comments about.
@@StephenFogarty2023 Huge? I would define huge as over 50 percent. Even Jeep says that only 12-15% of its vehicles hit the trails in a meaningful way. Yes, LR has a higher off-road rate than most, but statistically, it's the second or third owner that really pushes them hard. And how many of those accessories are fashion statements? Hard to really know. Anecdotally, I seldom see them at off roading sites. But they're amazing for sure.
Evidence? Oh yes that's right TFL! One Defender with issues. The other problems weren't of the Defender's making. Are they as reliable as Toyota. No. More likely to get quirky electronic issues? Probably. Are they as reliable as other modern Euros? Likely. Do I want to spend a lifetime driving Toyotas? Nope. Life's way to short.
These fall over quickly in anything resembling a challenging off road situation. Don't believe me? Go join an overlanding expedition with people using Jeeps and Toyota's and see how it goes for you. The resale value on these is terrible (in relation to other brands in the same segment) for very good reason.

Not sure if the V8 will be powerful enough to take my kids to school. I'm waiting for a V12...
Point taken. I admire a man that doesn't settle.
2024 My Lottery Win Buy SUV. I Can Dream, Can't I? (smile)
More Oligarch candy? Kind of cruel when car and fuel prices are hammering the rest of us.
Taxes?
@@DrivenCarReviews Nope. We only pay a 15% VAT in KSA. That x2 price is before applying the VAT though, because it's nearly the same exorbitant price in UAE.
Yeah but does it ever get out of the repair shop ! !
Buy a new one.
Enjoy the heck out of it.
Sell or trade it the moment the warranty expires.
Thanks Faray, I'll pass this on to Steve. Terima kasih Faray, saya akan menyampaikan ini ke Steve.
Có con này mà đi miền núi thì còn gì bằng
$55,000 for this? Ridiculous. They should offer a stripped down version with a turbo 5 cylinder like the original. I bet $15,000 of that price is because of all the bling they put on it. The old Land Rovers didn't even come with a roof...
Mitsubishi Montero reincarnated
My Acura RDX 2020 10 speed is super jerky in the city to many gears
I would rather buy a GX 460,top reliable, same mpg.
Nobody I know has ever had a Land Rover without some crazy repair.
Get a lexus.
Nobody I know has ever had a Lexus that looked good.
I just cant spend that much for something with that much plastic. For basically the same price the Sport interior is 10x better.
no one ever mentions that it's an old ford v8
Despite all its capabilities, for 99.9% of buyers, this is just a luxury lifestyle accessory.

What u say, is true for most buyers of any type of 4WD or SUV.
However, there is definitely a big proportion of Defender owners, that are regularly using its full capabilities.
Besides fantastic towing & off road ability, Defender has comfort, features, safety and tech, which makes it also a great daily driver.
@@StephenFogarty2023 Right, herding sheep on a mountain ranch.
sounds like depreciation and breakdowns.
The looks are growing on me... but the Defender seems to like de dealers garage much more then the owners garage ... Not good.
Will be worth 50k in 3 years and 20k in 8 years
very nice SUV for sure, unfortunately, it is not Defender.
Will spend half the time in service at your local Land Rover dealership.
These fall over quickly in anything resembling a challenging off road situation. Don't believe me? Go join an overlanding expedition with people using Jeeps and Toyota's and see how it goes for you. The resale value on these is terrible (in relation to other brands in the same segment) for very good reason.
Beautiful truck but ill take landcruiser
