As a Yank with two Land Rover products (Range Rovers) and having visited Scotland for the first time last May, it was a magical area. Seeing the Eilean Donan Castle in the video brought back a rush of beautiful memories. Honestly, I can't wait to go back.....perfect area for a Defender.
I have 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi 5.7 ltr V8. And as its fly's or should i say drives in the face of current automotive trends to reduce engines sizes and go down the EV path it still a cracking wagon for weekends away with the mountain bike. It just covers distances effortlessly and is like a fav pair of jeans when you get into it for the long-haul home. There is still a place for these types of cars. And I hope we don't get to the point where somewhere like Scotland is full of EV charging stations. you just can't beat an old school V8 ICE for character. Loved the video.
Paul - good video mate. General consensus is that this type of video is really enjoyed and appreciated. More like this please mate. Bring SOL back to its old glory for us. 😊
The perfect way to fully test that car is to travel from london all the way up to the Scottish highlands. Going off on an adventure is all about what the defender is all about. Its cool. Im a huge fan of their cars and i thank Land Rover for continuing to work with SupercarsOfLondon on such collaborations. We want you to give more of your vechicles to Paul so he can test them for us.
SOL is back! Paul you have stepped up your game, and are now back in the premier league of car UA-camrs. Great trip and great video. Please keep up the good work.
Great video Paul, interesting, fresh and the production was👌 even Sam would be proud! 😅 the intro was like top gear/bbc level production! Looking forward to more of the same
Definitely the right vehicle for up here in Scotland 🏴👌 The footwear was definitely not though 🤣 Impressed with your knowledge of birds of prey, looked like a pair of Peregrines stooping the eagle in the last shot. Great video 👏
Ha! The Land Rover will be in need of repairs within 3 years. My G63 is 8 years old and I only change the oil once a year/10k miles, absolutely zero issues with my G and yes I take it off road. My Defender on the other hand (along with a Range Rover and a 2 Discoverys) were constantly in the shop…shame because I actually loved all of those trucks. I hope that Land Rover sorts out their reliability issues one day so I can buy another one.
Interesting video Paul.....love the scenery, the wildlife, the clean air etc., but I have watched this twice now, and still cant see where you cover off the title.....why this car is better than the G-Wagen!🤔
Paul, not watched your videos for ages, then I remembered them and here I am, (resubscribed) and happy to be watching them again, only better than before. The Defender V8, aside from the terrible mpg, is such an amazing car, and possibly the last of its kind by them. Around here in Shropshire (at least where I live, we get a lot of Buzzards and Kites). Yesterday there was a large gathering of them, there were more than I could count as they were circling on the thermals, but I managed to count 19 before some of them disappeared from site over our roof. Eagles are fascinating and huge. I was lucky enough quite some years ago in a place called Tofino in the pacific rim national park (Vancouver Island), whilst going to see humpback whales, two eagles performed for us during a mating ritual in between the top branchs of some trees right above our heads as we passed underneath them going out to the ocean. Stunning animals and pleased you got your bucket list done. Great photography too. Scotland is a stunning part of the UK.
As someone in Glasgow, a lot of English UA-camrs think of GLASGOW or Edinburgh. More often than not its a quick trip to Glen Coe or something. Nice to see you up here Paul - ps so shocked you have 6.5k views a day after upload considering there are nearly 900k subs. What has happened.
A good video though but I waited and waited for the why question of a landrover but rather only to hear eagles and eagles. That road doesn't look so tough to test the landrover . Come to botswana and test tht through makgadikgadi and through the savuti linyanti and ckgr.
An off road adventure on Scottish roads is an oxymoron- no matter how bad they are. I heard about someone having a grandmother stating : "If you haven't got anything good to say , then say nothing at all" Well, she wasn't my grandmother. Hence I'll tell you why you think it is better than a G waggon : you're English . (Even if you spell it wagon)
Perhaps, but much like this 130k monstrosity, it will be bought by wealthy urbanites and the closest it will get to mud is the verges of Wimbledon Common on the Sunday morning coffee run. In my opinion, the best car for the Highlands - because at least some of us could afford one, (and more to the point, get our hands on one), would be the Ariel Nomad.
Fantastic video, well done. More of this kind of quality please 🙏🏾

Actually a good video, perhaps you should do more like this...

Great filming & editing!

Loved filming this trip! On to the next 📸
That was a truly excellent video Paul, far more interesting than any supercar content which is pretty much done to death these days.
Great video Paul, interesting, fresh and the production was👌 even Sam would be proud! 😅 the intro was like top gear/bbc level production! Looking forward to more of the same
One of my favourite videos you’ve done, but then again you’re in one of my favourite cars in one of the loveliest places on earth. Fantastic ❤
Definitely the right vehicle for up here in Scotland 🏴👌 The footwear was definitely not though 🤣 Impressed with your knowledge of birds of prey, looked like a pair of Peregrines stooping the eagle in the last shot. Great video 👏
Great video! Scotland's highlands are fantastic!
Massively enjoyed this. Also, more of this, please. Cinematography was 😮💨👌 🦅

Glad you enjoyed my country and exploring our beautiful Highlands. Great video. Great car. 👍🏽🏴
hello from Glasgow
The Defender is amazing!!
Interesting video Paul.....love the scenery, the wildlife, the clean air etc., but I have watched this twice now, and still cant see where you cover off the title.....why this car is better than the G-Wagen!🤔
Clickbait BS title - typical UA-camr lacking integrity !
Wow! Awesome video. Incredible effort gone into this - reminded me of a Top Gear of old car review

Fantastic video! Everything is better when it involves the highlands.
Fantastic video, great content and scenery 👌
I am glad to see Alexis Mac Allister as a UA-camr.
Great video, where has this SOL been the last year?!
I agree i would take one over a G wagon speically when the SVR comes out

Wouldn’t mind renting one for the fun of it, but owning one, you’re having a laugh.
I could tell you before watching the g wagon is the modern day old defender.. cool but the worst to drive..
An off road adventure on Scottish roads is an oxymoron- no matter how bad they are.

Love them both but think landy will break first .
Really is not shit is going to break down no matter what
44k in mine, hasn't broken down yet
@@griffboy Ah well, at least it wont be a surprise when it does!
@@griffboy Won’t be long !
22/23 mpg? can't grumble at that..
Aren't crocodiles the closest to dinosaurs??? Just saying 😂
Actually no, Ostrich’s or an Emu are closer in DNA terms than any living reptile.
More like this, 20 mins was to short…BZ
Super car in Scotland which is God's country.Don't forget that...
911 dakar is the perfect car for the highlands.

We bought a second hand urban with tuned exhaust….best £80k ever!
